After dancing the night away, we were hungry. Couldn't find anything open, so we decided to hit up Spar for some food. Our initial stop here was just to get some provisions such as red bull, water, etc. The second stop was for the drunken eats. Luckily they have a fair amount of ready to eat food. We grabbed some sandwiches - Chicken & Egg Cub, Chicken & Pepper Sandwich. Also, got some chips - Guiness and Flame Grilled Steak. The chips were something I never tried before. It wasn't bad at all. Beer and meat chips, who knew? I have no idea how much we spent here since the hubs took care of everything and I forgot to get a pic of the receipt. However, whenever I travel internationally, I always look forward to trying new snacks that are not available in the United States. So I did find some Doritos flavors at Spar that i hadn't seen anywhere else during my time in Dublin. It's a fully stocked store with an array of items from chips, candy, and cookies to an assortment of grab&go sandwiches and instant ramen. This location is nestled on the corner of a busy, crowded street. No self-checkout. You have to pay at the register. The customer service was a bit lackluster.

They recently did the place up and expanded into the premises next door; now they have a shiny new deli and a comfy sit-down/cafe area. My only real issue with this place is that I have gone in there a number of times looking for something only to find that they have run out or just don't stock it. For example. they sell hotdogs but they don't stock hotdog buns at all.

Their deli is very impressive, their wraps, sandwiches, salads are very fresh and good value. They also make fresh pizzas, but I haven't tried them yet. They have an ATM at the back of the store, but this is often out of service, but there is an outdoor ATM just up the road a little (a minute's walk or less). They've got groceries, off-license, newspapers/magazines, lottery, almost anything you could want, but I wouldn't do a full weekly shop here! They are open 24 hours, which adds a star for me!

They have a good selection of groceries, prepared food and alcohol. Prices are the same as the regular larger Tescos. Most are open til 11 pm or later. It is a great place to stock up on snacks. Very good Polish beer 5,6% ~€2.60, where it normally costs €1.70. And that applied to all beers. Thankfully, they had sale on Heineken (3,8%) 6 cans for €8. If not that, I'd have walked to next shop don't matter how far. I actually remembered my good acquaintance's words - spar is for rich people, buddy. It's great for dropping down and grabbing a bottle of wine or spirits after work, they have over 20 wines that I can think of off hand. If you're not one for wines, they have over 25 kinds of both domestic and imported beers, chilling and waiting to be taken home. The hours are SUPER convenient, I'm pretty sure it opens at 8 and closes a little past 9 Monday through Saturday. It's nice to have a local shop, reasonably prices with a good selection so close to home. It's even better on nights when I forget to take out something for dinner!

Take your time browsing the online supermarket and then pick your delivery time. The delivery service charge fluctuates anywhere between 3 and 6 euro - not bad! And, your groceries can be delivered within a day and down to a two-hour window of time. Everything is at your fingertips - from exfoliating facial scrubs to a jar of jalapenos. You'll find stuff that can't be bought at your corner convenience store. Lose the shopping cart! Let your fingers do the walking and put your money where your mouth is ... until delivery time!

Tesco Online--Personal Experience:…read more Once you've registered, the online store is very easy to use. Products have clear (if occasionally optimistic) pictures and good info. Discounts/multibuys etc are marked. Product categories are well organized and the site is easy to navigate. There are a good range of delivery times and prices. Off peak times are a LOT cheaper. I've found deliveries to be on time about 7 out of 10 times. What is annoying is that a delivery can be up to an hour late without any contact from the store (in fact, if you check the order number on the website, it reads 'delivered' even though it hasn't been). That said, if you call their helpline about a late order, they are very good about getting in touch with the driver and letting you know what happened/how long it will be. If they're out of a product, they'll substitute another (you get the cheaper price if the substituted item was more expensive). Mostly, the substitutions are spot on, but you can opt for 'no substitutions' on an item if you are leery (I do this on pet food as they tend to get substitutions wrong...no my kitten does not think that 'adult tuna' food is as good as 'baby cat chicken'...and in all fairness, Tesco aren't psychic so 'no substitutions' it is). The delivery drivers are an odd bunch. They're all really helpful if you have questions and very good about carrying deliveries indoors etc. Some are sociable, say 'hello', smile and have a quick chat. Others grunt once and get the job over with. Occasionally one stares at you with a look that says "I hate you for buying bulk cat litter but I'm not allowed to say it". I prefer the friendly ones, it's a little weird to have someone in your home who doesn't even say hello, just marches in the door and past you. Overall, it's an excellent service. I used it once and was sold. Now I use it every couple of weeks for bulky/heavy items or a big shop. Definitely worth a try.
