We were roaming around Dun Laoghaire one afternoon and realized we were dying of hunger. We needed something quick and easy and M&S was right there. They have a little where you can get a sandwich, salad or wrap, a bag of chips and a drink for 4 euros. A lot of the stuff that was part of the deal was all gone, so we ended up with this strange salad that consisted of a little bit of lettuce, carrots, corn, baby prawns and loads of thousand island salad dressing (that pinkish stuff). We also picked up a ham sandwich for 1.50. The chips and beverage were ok, but the sandwich was probably the worst I've ever had and the salad was gross. Other options looked a lot more appetizing... The rest of the store is great though. They have a selection of all the stuff you'd need to grab in a hurry, from prepared foods to beer.

My aged mother paid for our shop with a credit card - something she does all over the world. With advanced age, she does not remember a PIN, so she signs for her purchases. The cashier did not ask for her signature, which means if my mother hadn't been honest and reminded her, we could have walked out with free groceries! Then, befuddled by this bizarre behaviour of the cashier, my mother left the credit card in the reader...and the blase cashier let us walk out of the shop, no comment of "you left your card". To top all of this off, you cannot call the individual stores anymore - you get connected to a central location, which cuts out on you, takes your number and never calls you back. We had to go back to the store, where they told us we were not the only ones to leave a credit card in the reader that day! Hell-o, Lidl- have some pride in your job and train your workforce! Two stars is generous - only the price and quality of the goods makes sure you don't get a zero rating! Bad bad customer experience!
