The main items though are various Bangladeshi fish (frozen) and meat. Chicken, mutton, lamb, beef are the usual items here. The owner is very friendly and understands the meat quality. They even take preorders if you have big events and need large amounts of meat or fish. They can cut the pieces as you desire. This shop have plenty of free parking space too. The only big issue it the pricing of the meat and fishes. They are quite high in comparison to the Bangladeshi stores in Hamtramck. We always buy fish and meat from Golam but recently we started to buy same items from Detroit area through our Frieda who live nearby and it costs us half the price. This is the only shop of this kind in this area so maybe the higher price is justified.

Bulk foods, organic and veg/vegan/eco friendly products and groceries, and tons of grab and go and hot bar options if you're not the cooking type (or don't have the time/energy to cook) so you can still have a healthy, pseudo-home cooked meal. The coffee shop in the front of the co-op is excellent. I've definitely set up here more than a few times with my laptop to get some work done while sipping a delicious latte and snacking on a tasty vegan baked good. Staff is so friendly and the wifi is solid. Parking in the area (since it's in Kerrytown) can get dicey but there are a few lots nearby and there's street parking which ebbs and flows depending on the day of the week and time of day. But if you can grab a street spot right near by you're in luck!

In particular I'm mightly geeked that they carry Bird Dog Baking from Ypsi (love their rye teacake), White Lotus Farms (my husband can't stop raving about the pistachio blackberry croissant I brought him), Why Not Pie?, Harvest Kitchen, and more. We always stocked up on their candy (which, by the way, is of the highest quality and with EXTREMELY fair prices), coffee, almost any flour you can think of, and any odd spice that you may need. If you only need a tablespoon of something for a recipe that isn't in your cupboard, you don't have to go to Meijer and buy a whole bottle of something you'll rarely ever use! The employees are all very friendly as well. Whenever you need assistance, they go above and beyond to help. Since, we moved to Athens, GA, and BTP is at the top of the list (right next to Sparrow Meat Market) of stores we miss. We often talk about tossing our graduate degrees and just opening up a bulk foods shop here in town. We miss having this resource at our fingertips. The past 2 years, we return to the Michigan area during the winter holidays and always make sure to stop at BTP. Their treats make great stocking stuffers, and I ALWAYS have to stock up on those dark chocolate coconut clusters (I just finished the last one -- hence writing this review -- and I'm sad I can't find anything like them on the internet or here in town). Woah! An Asian market right in downtown? Sweet!…read more Taking a wild guess that it's owned by Kanbu sushi next door. It's a relative small convenience-sized store. The assortment is definitely college town tailored with shelf stable items like ramen and hi-chew. No fresh produce. Assortment skews toward Korean brands. For instance, I am stoked that they have single serve Melona bars, so I'll definitely be back for those!
