They also only gave me 3 months to pay the balance in full and told me that there was no longer payment plan cause the "doctor has to eat." He had business cards saying he was a Rectal Surgeon but turns out he is only a General Surgeon. He decided robotic surgery was best which I thought was a little over the top but what do I know. I thought everything was fine after leaving his surgery center until I tried to have a bowel movement two days after surgery and could not. I felt a foreign object and pulled it out from down there and it turned out to be a Lidocaine patch normally used for muscle pain.....in my rectum. Removing it caused his sutures to come undone. I followed up with him and he only wanted to perform other tests. His office manager was apologetic saying, "We should have told you about the patch." Although I paid the full balance with a Cashier Check; someone called from his office trying to get paid the same amount again. I told them I paid in full and after a little back and forth they relented. His staff was excellent and I feel sorry that they have to associate with a Butcher like Chen. Also: no other surgeon will touch you after going to Chen because they are aware of his sub-standard care. Choose wisely folks.

The scheduling felt more like a cattle call than a medical practice, with multiple appointments apparently booked for the same time. Many patients, including several senior citizens, waited well over an hour to see the doctor, and the frustration in the waiting room was obvious. Patients deserve to be treated with kindness, dignity, and respect, regardless of their background. Instead, the atmosphere felt cold, rushed, and impersonal. It was genuinely sad to see so many people, especially older adults, waiting for such a long time without much communication. If you have other options, I would recommend looking elsewhere for your care.

Facility: Antelope Valley Hospital Date of Incident: October…read more2-3, 2025 Procedure Scheduled: Surgical treatment for meralgia paresthetica Assigned Surgeons: Primary: Dr. Farrukh Backup/Secondary: Dr. Rafael Lemus Summary of Events On October 2, 2025, I was scheduled for a surgical procedure requiring the presence of both the primary surgeon, Dr. Farrukh, and the secondary surgeon, Dr. Rafael Lemus, as well as the anesthesiologist. According to hospital protocol and the arrangement agreed upon by the surgical team, no part of the procedure was to begin unless all required personnel were present. Despite this requirement, the hospital proceeded with full preoperative preparation. I completed blood work, received IV fluids and antibiotics, was transported to the operating room, shaved, marked at the surgical site, and sedated. At that point, I was fully unconscious and unable to provide consent or make decisions. While I was under sedation, Dr. Lemus left the hospital without notification or justification. Dr Farrukh self admitting in a frustrated condition spoke to Me about this in passing. When contacted, he refused to return, leaving the required surgical team incomplete. As a result, the surgery was not performed. Upon awakening, I was given inconsistent and limited information. My subsequent requests for clarification and for copies of my medical records were met with resistance, prompting concerns about transparency and potential record concealment. I documented my interactions with staff to preserve evidence. On October 3, 2025, Dr. Farrukh called to confirm the following: Dr. Lemus left the hospital without notification or justification. When contacted, he refused to return, leaving the required surgical team incomplete. As a result, the surgery was not performed. Upon awakening, I was given inconsistent and limited information. My subsequent requests for clarification and for copies of my medical records were met with resistance, prompting concerns about transparency and potential record concealment. Beginning with the first visit, that I waited 3 months for, I was not on their schedule!! Thankfully, one of the staff members remembered scheduling me, however, I waited 2 hours while they "worked me in". They have dropped the ball on prescriptions & lab orders EVERY SINGLE VISIT!! The most recent error was sending the wrong rx to the pharmacy, which cost me $100. Unacceptable the way they rush, assume & quick to give out the wrong info. Dr. DeSilva is wonderful, but once you leave the treatment room after talking with her, nothing gets done!! I've had to repeatedly ask for lab orders & rx's to be sent out. In addition, they failed to update orders in the system. How embarrassing that the Dr has to call the pharmacy to see what the last dosage was because her staff failed to update the chart. Complaints to management & Dr DeSilva were a total waste of time, nothing has improved, it just gets worse!! Moving on to where patient care matters & I'm taking my husband with me!
