Disappointing experience. Unprofessional Staff. Our appointment with Dr. Parsa was scheduled for 9:00 AM, but the patient--77 years old and dealing with numerous health issues--was not called in until the caregiver approached the staff about the delay an hour later. After waiting an additional 15 minutes, a staff member informed us that the doctor was running behind and that we would need to continue waiting for an unknown amount of time. We ultimately left without being seen. This level of communication and time management is unacceptable. Patients should not have to follow up just to receive basic updates. It seems you may need to set aside an entire day just to be seen by this doctor. read more

Update Nov 2024: DR. Parsa messed up my back for life. Thanks to his medical malpractice... I had to be rushed to the hospital for emergency surgery. I had a herniation of a golf ball in my back. Could had been paralyzed if I wasn't rushed to the ER. Please DO NOT let this man touch you. I also blame LaleZary law firm for FORCING ME to have surgery with Parsa because he was their "friend". His medical expertises: 1. Thinks a seromas is "normal" after surgery (Parsa's words to me). Was leaking fluid from my open wound. 2. Refuses me physical therapy since he didn't think I needed it. 3. Blamed my weight (I was like 10lbs overweight at the time) for my complications. 4. When I woke up from my surgery, he blamed a pervious doctor for his botched surgery. 5. Always throws a tantrum if I went against his Medical Expertises. 6. Refused me ANY medication and when I herniated my disc (I had to see two medical experts who fixed his botched operation). 7. This is one of the finest surgeons alive. He literally saved my life more than once. I have something called Spinal Stenosis so my bones are being eaten away. Any blow to my body in the affected areas could cause a flurry of activity. He stays in touch and monitors my condition. I know I can depend on him. read more

I'm incredibly grateful for Dr. Parsa. I was left laying on my back for a month from a terrible 9mm disc herniation. Had intense sciatica & a foot drop on my left and really couldn't do anything but lay on my back. After getting multiple opinions, it was evident that I needed a microdiscectomy. I had appointments with all kinds of surgeons lined up. After asking a family friend of mine who is in the medical field, He quickly recommended Dr. Parsa. His words were exactly "trust me you're going to want be in his hands and you'll know why after you're done with this whole experience. He has incredible bedside manner, skill, and is just a wonderful human" . Now On the other side of my surgery and he was exactly right. Couldn't be happier with his handling skills from point A through Z and the results of my surgery. I'm a 31 year old athlete, health coach and trainer. Laying on my back for a month was the hardest thing I've ever had to do. The sciatica down my left leg was gone immediately after the surgery. I was able to walk 20-50 steps the day after the surgery but understandably was in pain from the inflammation at the incision site. It's been four weeks since the surgery and I'm back to work walking hours a day and moving freely. The first four days after the procedure was tough considering the incision and inflammation but After day three I was able to walk 45 minutes to an hour at a time and slowly built up from there. Ill be starting physical therapy soon to get back to my full athletic self. Anyone reading this review, please make sure you strengthen yourself and stay strong! Recovering from any procedure is a lot easier when you've invested in your body, your health and your overall strength. If you didn't have that opportunity before your procedure, please make sure you do so after your procedure. I couldn't be happier with Dr. Parsa & I'm very grateful for him & his expertise. read more

We're do I begin, this dr is by far the most amazing dr I have ever seen. He truly cares about his patients and always strives to give the best advice and really rallies in your corner. He goes above and beyond. I have had 1 surgery with him and he treated me with the best attitude and genuine care. Dr. Parsa is a great doctor! Unfortunately, I cannot say the same about his staff.  I called Dr. Parsa in Feb about back surgery. He wanted me to have imaging done, of course. Mel had me call 3 different offices about the tests. None of these places were close. They weren't even in my county. None of them performed those specific tests. I found an imaging center, close to my home, that did. As it turned out, they requested the wrong tests. After approximately 2 months, that part was resolved. I went in for my tests but Dr. Parsa's staff neglected to order the necessary lab work. It took 6 weeks to reschedule the tests. The 1st time, they sent the orders to the wrong lab so we rescheduled. The next time, I arrived for the tests & was told the lab work was incorrect. I called Dr. Parsa's office. They apologized & ordered the labs, again. I waited another 6 weeks to get the tests done. This happened, at least, 4 times. Each time I had to wait 6 weeks to reschedule. It's about 7 months now & they still haven't gotten it right. I had an appointment with Dr. Parsa & was planning on talking to him about the problems. The office manager, Alona, canceled my appointment & refuses to allow me to speak to the doctor until after he gets the test results. How do I do that if they can't get it right? I have no lab work and no appointment. Alona has no plans to reschedule or allow me to talk to the doctor. Trying to cover your tracks, Alona? Not on my watch! I filed a complaint with my insurance company & now have my appointment. I'm praying that the staff can get it right, once I speak to Dr. Parsa. This is a surgeon's office. Patients are in pain. The staff tries to hide their mistakes by not allowing patients to speak to the doctors. How many other patients are they mistreating? How many patients are waiting, in pain? This is unacceptable. This is ABUSE. The staff at Neurospine Institute is incompetent, 100%!Alona & the rest of the staff should be fired immediately. Perhaps take a class in humanity, common sense & etiquette. read more

Good evening everyone. I would like to say it has been 5 months after my surgery and I am doing amazing! I would recommend Dr. Parsa because he is very understanding and caring when it comes to his patient's care. As my surgery date was nearing I was very nervous and scared. Dr. Parsa went over the surgery with a lot ofdetail and reassured me that it was going to be okay. Before my surgery, the whole left side of my body would go numb sometimes and now it's all gone. This Dr. is truly the best I've ever been to. He is attentive, personable, professional, knowledgeable, and the best BOARD CERTIFIED SPINE SURGEON in Los Angeles. I had the option of doing back surgery with 4 different surgeons in Beverly Hills and ended up going with Dr. Parsa because he was by far the best. Even my attending Dr. in recovery said if he ever needed back surgery he would only go with Dr. Parsa. I have never come across a more caring surgeon ever in my life. Dr. Parsa definitely goes against all stereotypes that surgeons are known for, his kindness and bed side manners are truly exceptional. Brought in a family member for a consult and possible surgery with Dr. Parsa, and was able to get an appointment right away. Dr. Parsa answered all of our questions and went through the process with us step by step. He shared his professional opinion keeping in mind all of our fears and concerns. No surgery experience is pleasant but when you trust your surgeon your mind it at ease. I'm recovering from an eating disorder, I restrict my intake and have PTSD and deal with alot of emotional probablems. I'm also fat. So, I have the experience of doctors blaming any ailment on my weight. I was in a car accident last year and my spine got messed up. The first thing the doctor told me was that I need to lose alot of weight. This happened about two weeks ago, it really affected my mood and triggered a relapse, I'm in a really vulnerable place and I wasn't expecting meeting a Dr for the first time to discuss my spine to leave with his advice of losing weight. I asked him if he recommended physical therapy and he said no just do exercise, walk or whatever and in 2 months I should see a difference because my endorphins will help with the pain. I know diet culture runs rampant in our culture and even in the medical world but this is my spine, and this is an injury received from a car accident. I wasn't dealing with this pain before it, and I was fat then too. I spoke to the person who referrered me to him and learned other people had complained about how that was his treatment recommendation. So nevermind my spine is deteriorating and I have crippling pain, just go for a jog or walk and I be fine. This isn't a "health at every size" doctor if you're a person who is chubby or fat, don't go here, or go prepared to hear the typical medical advice that "weightloss is a cure all" and Dr. Parsa please watch what you say to people because you don't know their experiences. Eating disorders are really difficult to recover from and people dealing with them are in different places emotionally whether they're in recovery or not. So maybe your words won't impact one person that much, but they may affect another person greatly, and not in a good way, they can do serious damage. read more

Unfortunately, I can't say we had a positive experience here. It's not that the Dr is bad, but the administrative staff demonstrated very incompetent behavior. On our first visit we had to drive to their office 1 hour away because we wanted to get in sooner. We showed up but the Dr. was unable to see us because of an emergency. No problem! That happens! We were set up with a new appointment for the next day but when we showed up the office was closed. When we called to see what was going on we were told that the appointment was for the Palmdale office, which is 15 minutes from our home. It would have been nice for the lady who made the appointment to inform us that we needed to go to a different office. We finally see the Dr. later that day in the Palmdale office and he refers us to a new Dr who would be coming to his office. We make an appt with the new Dr and get a call that they need to change the time to 30 minutes earlier. No problem! We show up and are told that our appointment was rescheduled for two weeks later because they don't have the equipment needed for our appointment. The explanation was that because the Dr is new to the office everything has to be approved. What?!!! Why would you give us an appointment date if you're not properly equipped? We never received a call about the appt being rescheduled but they say we should have received one. The office manager was very apologetic but I just don't understand how this could happen. To sum up our experience, it was TERRIBLE customer service. read more

I was first referred to Dr. Parsa, Palmdale office in December 2016. Due to my emergency travel plans and insurance processing problems I didn't have surgery until September 2017. As for Dr. Parsa and his staffs service -- excellent. With mri results in hand for the 1st appointment, I was referred for a CT scan, which the office was able to get processed in 1 week with my insurance. With cd of CT scan in hand at 2nd appointment, my daughter and I viewed the problem to question before he got in the room. His response to our questions were immediate for surgery, a complete cervical vertebrae replacement needed, and for every step in the process. Bedside manners at the hospital and followup appointments have been impressive. After 10 years of other doctors not finding a reason for my severe lower back pain, extending into legs and arms, I accepted the decision for surgery. Thorough research of such a surgery was done by my daughter and myself. and still agreed with the choice. I am thrilled with the results -- noticeable the day after surgery, with improvement within 2 weeks, and I am back to handling my own active daily routines. Memory improved 100 %, due to not needing to use the heavy medications I was on for years prior or the distracting pain levels. I highly recommend Dr. Parsa, his main office in Palmdale, with a satellite office in Encino. read more
