I truly cannot say enough about Dr. Leonard S. Kurian and his entire staff. What makes this office so special is that you genuinely do not feel like a patient, you feel like family. From the very first visit, I felt cared for, heard, and supported. Dr. Kurian takes the time to listen, explain everything, answer every question, and make sure you are comfortable. You can tell that he truly cares about the people he treats. And his staff is just as amazing. They are kind, compassionate, patient, and always willing to help. What really stands out to me is the follow-up. They don't just see you and send you on your way. They actually check on you. They follow up. They remember you. They care about how you're doing. That means so much, especially when you're going through something that can feel overwhelming. The level of care is the best in the AV area. Dr. Kurian was my doctor for my first baby when I was very very young (2002) and honestly he's probably the best doctor I ever heard of in the antelope valley ( and my family was having baby's back to back for a while so we have some horrer stores). I have to give this 5 starts - despite the wait. I should probably not scheduled my routine appointment right after a long weekend. There were a lot of very pregnant ladies and babies, which were a lot more important than a checkup. That being said, all the staff were very nice and helpful and (partly thanks to my phone) the wait didn't seem so long. Dr. Kurian was great - a real gentleman and really took the time to ask questions and give very good information. I was very comfortable with him and am very happy that I found him, so I wanted to take the time to recommend to others who may be wondering which one to choose (my old one had retired). (btw, I have to disagree with the person who said he was rude. I'm not sure what happened there, but feel it must have been a misunderstanding. I believe it is required to have someone else in the room with you when doing certain things - it is for your own protection. He was very courteous and professional and kind. read more

Amazing staff and doctor! We recently moved to the AV while we were TTC and found out i was pregnant soon after. I was trying to find a good OB and was lucky enough to find this office. Luna helped me switch my insurance to be able to have Dr. Kurian as my doctor. Every appointment the wait time is short and the office staff is amazing! David helped me with all my questions, disability paperwork and getting my breast pump through my insurance. Dr. Kurian is always in a great mood and a pleasure to see, answering all my questions. Dr. Kurian is the best! His staff is awesome and both have gone way above and beyond for my husband and I. Dr. Kurian has great bedside manner, always makes you feel comfortable and takes his time to go over everything and answers any questions you have. The wait time can get a little frustrating at times, but they are always upfront and honest with you and willing to reschedule if there has been an emergency and the Dr had to leave (which is expected with a OBGYN...babies come when they are ready, not just when office hours are closed ;) Once you are in the room, he is all yours and the focus is on you and your baby....never felt rushed or like my questions didn't matter or were dumb (and I always had a lot!) I had a placental abruption three years ago while I was going into labor which led to a crash section. Dr. Kurian literally stopped everything and RUSHED to the WIP and was ready and scrubbed in before the on call Dr was ready to cut. Tragically, my son ended up being flown to UCLA where he was put on life support for a few days and never made it home. It was such a devastating time for my family and I and without going into every detail....I assure you, God forbid, if anything ever were to happen to you or your baby, this is the Dr (and staff) you want there for you. They all went above and beyond! They cried with me, prayed with me, let me wait in other offices (after I lost my son and had other checkups for myself) so that I wouldn't have to sit out with the pregnant women. They always treated me like a family member. My husband and I will forever be grateful for them! I always say I wouldn't have my youngest daughter if it weren't for Dr. Kurian. I wouldn't have felt comfortable to go through with another c-section after my placental abruption with ANY other Dr. The poor man deserves some kind of prize, trophy, visit from the president...SOMETHING!, for what he had to put up with with me ;) I was terrified, but knew I NEEDED another baby and after a miscarriage and some fertility trouble, I had her...9 months ago ;) He took GREAT care of me through ALL of it, I couldn't be happier with the way he fought for me with the specialists, answered questions, reassured me, and was diligent in his preventive care for me and my baby. I'm so confused on all the good reviews. I had only negative experience here. My first "phone appointment" was supposed to be 10am October 13. At 10:15am I had not received a call so I called the office, I received the voicemail and left a message asking "what happened?". That same day I got a call at 12pm from the nurse. She did not acknowledge that she had missed our appointment or my voicemail so I asked "what happened?" The nurse snapped back at me saying "do you want to do this or not?!" very rude. I decided to proceed with the "phone appointment" which was very unpleasant to say the least. Finally I was able to schedule an in person appointment for November 10 at 3:30pm. On November 10 I arrive at 2:24pm and walk up to the desk window. I did not receive any acknowledgement, I just got a clip board literally slammed on the counter in front of me. I signed in and took a seat. At 3:42pm I was called and my husband and I walked to the door. The nurse at the door said "patient only" I said "I just saw a man and woman walk out together" the nurse responded "they were talking to David, do you want to talk to David?" I responded "I don't know who David is" the nurse responded "he's the manager" then I responded "sure". The nurse puts my husband and I in a room and David, the manager, comes in and immediately exclaims "You were told patient only when you scheduled you appointment!" I responded "No, actually I was not" then my husband asks "why is it patient..." and gets cut off by David "COVID!" My husband responds "LA does not have social distance requirements as of June 15" David then responds with "You can either stay or leave". Needless to say we obviously left. I immediately called Dr. Baker and had a much more lovely experience scheduling an appointment and YES my husband is allowed to be with me. read more

I have been to the office of Dr. Kurian 3 times. All 3 times have been LESS than satisfactory. Here is my experience. The first visit (Jan 2012), I waited 1 hour and 45 minutes because the receptionist never checked me in. I let that slide because I just figured the pregnant women had priority. When the NP (nurse practitioner) finally called me back to get my vitals and some information, she was not the nicest of people. Again, I let it slide because I thought she was having an off day (not everyone is happy all the time.) The visit with Dr. Baker was ok. She is nice and seemed a bit more caring than the rest of the staff. The second visit (Jan 2013), I arrived at my app. 10 minutes early hoping to get checked-in and seen on time. Not at all. I waited about an hour and was told that my Dr. had left and I would have to re-schedule my app. The third and FINAL visit, I waited an hour and saw the grouchy NP. I briefly saw Dr. Baker (felt very rushed). I tried to talk to her about IUD, but she told me to go home and research them. I went home, decided which one I thought best for me and called to make the app. for it to be emplaced. Now comes the final straw. When I called to make the app. I was told I would need to come in for a consult, I explained I already had the consult so, they put me through to grouchy NP. She told me I would need to call and order the IUD and then they would call me when it arrived. Well, I don't have $700.00 lying around to purchase an IUD, and I can't bill insurance myself. When I called Dr. Kurian's office back to see if there was any they could order it and bill my insurance, I was told it was impossible and didn't offer to help me at all. They rushed off the phone as quickly as possible. I will absolutely NOT be giving Dr. Kurian's office anymore business. read more

I was under Dr. Kurian's care for my last pregnancy (babies 4 & 5 out of 5). I heard about him through a friend and I was glad I did. Since then I have referred everyone I know to him. During every visit him and his entire staff made me feel like a human rather than a chart. From start to finish I was pleased. I was impressed with all of the information I was able to get out of one appointment, as many OBs in the area are too busy to answer questions. My only regret was not seeing him with my first 3 children. Unfortunately, It is not common to feel heard, safe and taken care of in one place these days. Especially in a doctors office.. I just had my second baby through his office and I wouldn't go elsewhere. The long waits happen, he is an OB and had to deliver babies when he gets called and his patients are in labor (which when you're the one in labor, you appreciate his running to the hospital). He has always answered all my questions, taken extra time to explain things, and referred me to good specialists. He is one of the few I trust in the AV! He has always been very good with me and my family that went there. There is a handful if girls in m office that used him too and when I was asked this last pregnancy who I used, when I said Kurian, almost every response was, "Oh I loved him". Absolutely loved Dr.Kurian , but the reason for this review is to express how absolutely unprofessional and awful their billing manager, Janeen, is. First of all , I went to him for my entire pregnancy ,and never had an issue with my insurance but 2 months after the fact I received a call from her threatening me, telling me I will receive a bill bc something went wrong with the insurance. I then proceeded to call my insurance and explain everything and they told me that what she was saying and claiming was completely illegal and then had one of their attorneys call to explain to her how to do her job. How dare you make a 22 year old new mother stress and worry and to threaten me for your incompetence and lack of Knowledge on how to do your own job! Dr Kurian has been such a blessing in my world. When I found out that the Dr that delivered my first three babies was no longer taking patients, I was devastated especially since this would be our fourth and final pregnancy. We had heard of Dr Kurian through a friend who highly recommended him but when we started doing research we were alarmed by some "not so good" moments that were brought up. But the more that we researched the more we were pulled his way. My philosophy is, when someone gets in trouble for something very serious, 9 times out of 10 they don't do it again! So for me I didn't feel it necessary to hold the past against him. Well let me tell you that I am soooo glad I didn't. Dr Kurian has been a godsend. Im actually very sad that I didn't have my first three delivered by him. My pregnancy wasn't the easiest and after care hasn't been so great but he has been so kind and patient even when I'm feeling very unsure. He never makes me feel crazy for asking a million questions. I am so thankful to have met him and his office staff who are also amazing. I began going to Dr. Kurian's office when I got pregnant with my son in July 2010. All of my friends went to him and I had heard a lot of great things, so I thought I'd give his office a try. At that time they rotated doctors each visit, so I saw Dr. Kurian, Dr. Baker as well as the NP Paula. I liked all 3 of them. They each had a good bedside manner and I felt like they took their time with me and all my questions were answered. Dr. Baker was more quiet and reserved out of the 3, so I wasn't sure what her personality was like. But she ended up being the doctor on call when I went into labor and she was wonderful. I had a good birth experience (as good as pushing out a 8lb. 8oz baby could be, haha!) with no complaints. I went back to their office for my usual check ups and have always had a good experience. The staff is friendly and I felt like the doctors (and NP) remembered me and I wasn't just another number to them. I'll admit that the wait can be long sometimes. Especially if you go later in the afternoon. But I know the care I got when I was in the rooms and I know they are just trying to be as attentive to all of their patients, so it's worth the wait. Also, they can't predict when their patients are going to go into labor. So if multiple patients go into labor at the same time they're going to have to leave the office. I appreciated knowing they'd be there for me, so I expect that they treat other patients the same way. I got pregnant with my daughter in September 2012 and went back again. This time I was able to have a preferred doctor. I chose Dr. Kurian and had the best experience ever. It wasn't just good, but it was great. He was extremely attentive. He would listen to me and my concerns. Discuss things that I wanted to try differently with labor this time around and never made me feel dumb or like I was just a crazy pregnant lady (which I totally was). He even gave me a note to give to the nurses when I went into labor to make sure he'd be called even if he wasn't the one on call! Sure enough, I went into labor when he wasn't on call, and he still got up out of bed to deliver my baby at 2am. I told him I didn't want to stay long in the hospital so he was in my room bright and early the following morning (after the mandatory 24 hours stay and as soon as check out hours began) to check up on me and give me my discharge paperwork. A few months later my family and I moved and even though it's a 2 hour drive I was still considering going back for my yearly check ups! But my insurance has recently changed and I don't think his office accepts it anymore :-/ I highly recommend Dr. Kurian, the care I got was amazing and I miss seeing him and his staff as often as I did. They became like friends that made my pregnancy and mundane checkups so much more fun. read more

My original consultation was quick and easy.. the nurses and receptionist's are all very sweet and take the time to explain everything clearly. Dr. Kurian and his staff are very pleasant. He is a good doctor but because of that he is also very,very busy. I went to him for OB care and the usual wait times to see him or the NP were around 1 hr or more. Also you don't get to exclusively see him. They rotate you, one appt with him, one with the NP and one with Dr. Baker so on and so forth. To follow up my gyno care was even worse, I guess if you aren't a pregnant patient you are not a priority and to get appt for routine care it is about 2 to 3 month wait. read more

Couldn't be happier with my experience with Dr. Kurian and his office staff. I had to have a baseball sized cyst removed from my fallopian tube and also ended up losing the tube and Dr. Kurian was the man for the job. I saw him on a Tuesday with my ultrasounds (my primary doctor is the one who discovered it and sent me to see a gyno for surgery) and I was scheduled for that Friday for surgery! I found him to be very personable, nice and caring. He made this experience a positive one for me. I am looking forward to having him deliver my babies in the future!
