Poorly ran extremely busy office with only two providers who are overworked and overbooked. I don't know why they bother booking appointments if you end up waiting an hour or two to be seen! On my first prenatal visit I had an appointment at 10:30am and was called in at 1pm. They are unapologetic and the office manager does not care to hear your complaint neither does the front office. I was fortunate enough to make friends with one staff member who would help get my appointment moving along. Her name was virginia . She was the only one that knew the meaning of customer service in that office. The way they run in that office is very sketchy. I work in healthcare myself so I am surprised they have been able to operate the way they do. From triaging you in a cluttered closet supply room . Yes I said CLOSET SUPPLY ROOM to having no seating available for pregnant women that they end up waiting outside on the floor in the hallway. The way this office runs is shocking. I hated that whenever I was seen . I had to ask the doctor for my results of test,exams etc. The doctors are running around like chickens without a head. I was in fear of my prenatal care through out my pregnancy . Luckily I delivered just fine. One thing I should mention is Dr.Berman is very cold. He rolled his eyes at me and made faces as I was crying my eyes out during an all natural epidural free delivery. He's very desensitized and cold. I wish I would have seen Dr.Ngo. Dr. Berman is always very kind and gentle. Always answers all my questions. The only downside is the wait time. Sometimes 2 hours. His staff is always very nice as well. Didn't have a great experience with his nurse practitioner. She was rude and didn't answer my questions or concerns. If anything she made me more nervous. Dr. Berman also delivered my baby. If it had been another doctor I probably would have had to have a C-Section due to my baby's heart rate dropping. Dr. Berman stayed calm and let me try to have my baby the way I wanted to before just rushing me off to have a C-Section. read more

The wait is beyond ridiculous! Too bad I am almost due otherwise I would change doctors, every time for my appointment someone decides to pop a baby...so we all have to sit there and wait over 2 hours, I'm getting my tubes sterilization procedure. And not even asked me if I had any questions or any concerns. Every time I'm in the room its less than 2 minutes always rushed out of there! That's because they schedule 20 women in 15minutes. I had my first child there 10 yrs ago and recently just went thru my second pregnancy. This time around office seems less organized and even busier than the first time around. It's amazing that your job is to help people understand this new health care system but you act bothered and irritated by simply doing YOUR job. Personally I didn't have a good experience with Dr. Berman I am a first time mom and transitioned to his office at 17 weeks, from an amazing group of female doctors from Complete Women's Care in long beach/Lakewood/San Pedro area. When I got to the office there were only 3 other people in the waiting room and I still was waiting an hour to get seen. The office ladies were not very polite to me, you could tell they were trying to be nice but had a snarky attitude. The nurse I had was fantastic! She made me feel relaxed and comfortable the entire time she spoke to me, and when I was asked to strip down to nothing and cover with the sheet things she would come and update me on how long the doc would be. The doc had a delivery and I laid on the table bare bottom naked for over an hour waiting for him and when he came in, he seemed friendly but when he went to shake my hand and introduce himself (I assumed) he pulled me into the sitting position. I wasn't wearing anything and this being my first time meeting him i still was uncomfortable and held the sheet over while he asked me questions (why couldn't I lay down in this process?) He then had me lay down and didn't warn me or politely discuss how the appointment or anything would go he just immediately removed my sheet and started my breast exam. I was so u comfortable. When he went to press on my stomach and do the ultrasound on my abdomen he pulled the lower sheet covering my girl part completely away and I felt extremely exposed for no reason. He then didn't wipe the goo off or give me a towel to do it myself before sticking two of his fingers inside me. With every doctor and pregnant friend I have spoken to, this happens at the end of pregnancy to check for dilation, I was only 17 weeks.. And felt it was uncalled for. Again before he left he pulled me up into the sitting position for no reason. At 22, 1st time mom, 1st visit to the office, I felt exposed for no reason and completely uncomfortable with how the doctor presented himself and how I was just another appointment not a mom-to-be My child and I were not important and either was my privacy. I will not be returning to this office I instead drove back to long beach (1.75 hours) for my next appointment. read more

The doctors are fine but the wait it's ridiculous ( 2hrs sometimes ) and they don't have the curtesy to let you know ahead of time! And you can NEVER reach the doctor over the phone, the office manager is very rude and has 0 people skills! It's to bad but I wouldn't recommend this office. read more

Listen up, ladies! If you want a kind gentle gynecologist, think twice! I would rate this .5 star but the MIN is 1 star. The cons: -Not very gentle -Rude bedside manners -Very condescending - Spoke very demanding to me -Not kind -The long wait time which was 2.5 hours long. -Most of the staff were rude and gave dirty looks. His attire was not professional. The Pros: Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. If you are pregnant or wanting to become pregnant find another doctor who is more compassionate about you and your baby. I would also not even recommend for a "check-up"! I cannot stress enough how horrible my experience was. It left me with a disgusting taste in my mouth and will NEVER go back again nor recommend to anyone. read more

I hope what I'm hearing about him retiring isn't true! He is the best OB doctor in the antelope valley and possibly all of California. He delivered my last 2 children and was excellent! Very kind, explains everything in detail and he is 1 of the few doctors that actually listens to his patients, and cares for his patients... I hope what I'm hearing isnt true. Terrible office! The waiting time is ridiculous. Doctors or nurses do not care about their patients. Refrain from coming here.

Dr. Berman is the best doctor I have run into in my 3 years in the AV. I moved to him in my 8th month of my first pregnancy after a very bad experience with another doctor. My only regret is that I didn't change sooner. He is warm, compassionate, and spends a great deal of time with each patient. His surgical skills are amazing and his reputation extends out of the AV which I learned when I had to get medical care in LA (it was unrelated to Dr. Berman but the other doctors knew his excellent reputation). His office has 3 doctors (one is currently not taking patients) and you have the choice of seeing the other doctors but you aren't required to like in some practices. Also, they don't have a nurse practitioner so you will always see a doctor. All of the nurses are excellent and friendly. They are a busy practice but they make a huge effort with their patients to make sure you feel important. Their office is fairly crowded and sometimes you have to wait a bit to be seen. However, I've never waited more than an hour and most times less than that. Also, once Dr. Berman walks into the room, you have as much time with him as you need. He explains things in layman's terms instead of doctor jargon and he is as ego-free as doctors get. If you question him or ask for another opinion, he has no problem with that. In fact, he seems to enjoy patients that know what's going on. My first pregnancy was the world's easiest followed by a complicated labor and emergency C-section. The doctor on call at the hospital was my previous doctor and it went very poorly due to the doctor's ego and lack of skills. Dr. Berman knew the history with this doctor and really saved me from the situation. I will be forever grateful to him for that. He was even able to calm my frantic husband down and actually had him laughing as we raced to the OR. I used Dr. Berman and his partner Dr. Ngo for my entire second pregnancy. Dr. Berman also did my second c-section. We'll most likely be leaving the AV before I get pregnant again and it saddens me that I have to leave Dr. Berman. I would love to be able to take him with me! read more

Dr. Berman had a lot of experience and great education, so after scheduling my annual pap smear there, I was surprised to hear such dirty jokes from him. Since he had good recommendations as a doctor, I just told him I didn't want to hear his dirty jokes. I have been going to his office for three years now and was a little dismayed at the wait time. The last straw for me was getting urinary track infections every year after my pap smears for three years. I never had that problem at any other time, except there. I'm done. Now I'm looking for another GYN doctor. read more

These people called my fiance 2 days before her first appointment and told her that they wouldn't take her insurance. She is high risk due to being disabled and already having had a miscarriage. They knew this when they made the appointment. They also ran her insurance before even making the appointment. They gave no indication that there would be a problem with our insurance at that time. The office manager was incredibly rude and would not give any reasons for the change in accepting our insurance. If they don't take our insurance, why did they make the appointment in the first place? And why did it take so long to notify us? Here's the kicker though; the insurance issue we were having was a clerical error that was easily remedied. We called Dr. Berman's office back and told them that our insurance problem had been resolved and the office manager told my fiance that they still wouldn't see her. I will concede the fact that my fiance lost her temper on the phone with this woman (Jennine) when she first called to cancel our appointment. However... Who in their right mind wouldn't be upset when you cancel an important appointment 2 days before it is scheduled!? I have to reiterate that this is a HIGH RISK PREGNANCY! This office is supposed to know how to handle high risk pregnancies. Their refusal to see my fiance tells me that the office manager is an immature person who places her own vendettas before the well being of patients. If you are looking for a doctor to deliver your child and you happened upon this review, please, PLEASE! for the sake of your unborn child go somewhere else. We never even got to see the doctor but it all starts with the office doesn't it? This office is repugnant! While I cannot speak for Dr. Berman's skills as a physician, I can say that before you even get to him you will have to deal with THE worst service I have ever seen in an office setting, medical or otherwise. read more

I did not have a good experience. First, he wanted me to plan when to have my son, meaning more around his schedule not when the baby would actually come. Then, he preformed a D & C about 3 weeks after I had my son. I went back in because I was having no period and they wanted to do another D & C to find out what was wrong. I was later diagnosed with Asherman's Syndrome from a different doctor. I had "retained products of conception" then when the D & C was over I went home and had pieces of the placenta falling out. Yes, it was placenta, not blood clots, which is what their office tried to tell me it was. His partner at the time was Dr. Vora. She got in a rush during delivery and pulled the placenta out by the cord causing it to rip and partially stay in. Nope, won't go back there. read more

wow...were do i begin??? well i had dr. Ngo at Dr. Farid's office, for my 1st pregancy...he is so sweet and a good listener. i went back for my 2nd, and he left to women's clinic. I didint like Farid's office...one example, they told me my girl was a boy on the ultra sound..but back to Dr. berman's....i changed my insurance and followed Dr. Ngo at Berman's practice, and wow! The staff is plesant, and Dr. Ngo and Berman are sooo...sweet and very therow. I go to womens clinic for ANY and ALL female check up's! And im actually going next week for them to remove my IUD! Its never unplesant, and always welcoming and put me at ease with any concerns. read more

I am responding to a few issues that I have read on this site. 1. Location for services. The Antelope Valley is a secluded area for medical services, There are only 4 Ob/Gyn offices in this area that are full scope services. (does not include Kaiser or County Agencies) and 1, yes 1 hospital that performs deliveries in the AV an area that serves over 300,000 people. These offices service the cities of Palmdale, Lancaster, Littlerock, Lake LA, Acton, Tehachapi, Cal City, Boron, and Ridgecrest. So yes, your wait may be a long wait, but you have Board Certified, Skilled physicians treating you. 2. Out of the 4 offices only 2 private physician offices that will service Medi Cal recipients, (does not include county agencies) again remember for all areas noted above Now these office have contracts only with certain Medi-cal insurance plan, if a patient has Medi-Cal this month and the following month the patient has a NEW Medi-cal insurance plan that the office may not be contracted with, we the office staff would not have the current information until the day prior to a patient's visit. The State of California will default a patients Medi-cal plan at any time. This is not the fault of the offices nor the patients, however every Medi-cal reciptient must understand that If the Dr's office calls you and informs you that they are not contracted with your new health plan don't take your frustration out on the staff. We know that you have waited a month or so for your appt, just remember we have no control what the State of CA does with your Medi-cal and if you think that using foul language at any staff member is going to get your point across it doesn't. We have no obligation to see you as a patient. Remember you are in the Antelope Valley where services are limited so have patience and if you are a new patient on Medi-cal, I suggest you contact the Dr's. office a day or two prior to the appt to confirm your eligibility is active or at least your insurance is contracted with the office. Only come here if you do not work, because if you work you will have to take the entire day off as the wait time can range from one hour to four hours depending on if the doctor has to leave during office hours as he is on call for the hospital during this time. Dr. Berman has a terrible bedside manner, I am not sure why he chose to work with women and sensitive subject matter. When I got my pap smear done, as I was told by the nurse, I undressed from the waist down and covered myself with a sheet. After waiting 20 more minutes like this the doctor finally entered. As I began to say "Hi, how are you" he exclaims "OH YOUR NAKED!" Confused and with a loss of words I say, "Oh I though you knew?" Once again he says "knew what? That you were NAKED?" I then say "no, that I am getting a pap smear" sensing my frustration he then said that he was aware. I do not know if this was his way of making a joke, but he makes my skin crawl, good luck. read more

Im sorry but I would have given it a 0 if I had the choice and I am a medical manager! where to begin, the receptionists don't acknowledge the patients at the desk, not even a smile. I booked in to see Dr Burman following an abnormal pap, I was told by my doctor that my results we're abnormal and couldn't rule out high grade lesions and hence referred me for a colposcopy, I was seen by Dr Burman who stated that I had 'high grade lesions and we will keep looking for them until we find them' at which point I became concerned and asked if the results had notated that because if so I wasn't aware, anyhow I booked in for my procedure and attended and after waiting 2 hrs decided to walkout. I received a follow up call the next day informing me of the importance to have the procedure due to high grade lesions, I began to tell the secretary how unhappy I was and that the terminology the Dr was used has 2 very different means, having been told I HAVE lesions and CANNOT rule out are 2 different things, in fact my medical records wrote on that day actually state 'history of abnormal pap, shoes high grade lesions with atypical cell changes' this is entirely different to 'abnormal, cannot rule out high grade lesion'. I will definately not be returning and the only praise I have is for the secretary (Jeannine) who managed to get my records sorted quickly to get a second option. read more
