Good Doctor, questionable ethics. Dr Gill's front office is dominated by a mean aggressive manager…read morenamed Cheryl. Her poor attitude and explosive personality is what frightened me. The girls behind the desk are in Cheryl's domain and several of them think it's ok to behave rudely to patients. None of them look very happy with their jobs. Why? My guess is Cheryl who is backed up by Dr Gill. Instead of hearing both sides of the story, Dr Gill relies on Cheryl and I guess if you piss her off - by pointing out her mistakes - you can expect retaliation. It's indicative of the politics of this office. This atmosphere - to me - pervades the entire office. It's too bad. Dr Gill - under supervision - implanted a monitoring device under my skin. Experimental device made by Boston Scientific. 7 months later I get a bill for $7000 for the device. I ignore the bill. 4 weeks later I get another bill so I attempt to contact Dr Gill's office manager (Cheryl). Cheryl did not return my call so I reluctantly contacted Blue Cross. After I called Blue Cross they straightened things out. The next time I saw Cheryl at an appointment - and tried to explain that I would always call her first - she lost her temper and told me to leave and never come back. She claimed she called me (she didn't) and proceeded to eject me from the office. Dr Gill should know better, but he seemed to be annoyed at me because I told him that I thought Trump was a disaster. So if you want to support Dr Gill, remember that he supports Trump. He certainly doesn't support the rank and file like me. Beware of Cheryl though - it appears to me that she has a mean streak. She approached me the very first time in a hostile and aggressive manner and it seems some of her aggressive behavior may have rubbed off on a few of their staff. Dr. Gill? He should know better. I believe he has undertaken more work than he can manage. I don't want to believe he tried to scam me out of $7,000, but from every angle it appears when he was unable to do so, he lost interest in being my Doctor.

The scheduling felt more like a cattle call than a medical practice, with multiple appointments apparently booked for the same time. Many patients, including several senior citizens, waited well over an hour to see the doctor, and the frustration in the waiting room was obvious. Patients deserve to be treated with kindness, dignity, and respect, regardless of their background. Instead, the atmosphere felt cold, rushed, and impersonal. It was genuinely sad to see so many people, especially older adults, waiting for such a long time without much communication. If you have other options, I would recommend looking elsewhere for your care.

The most recent error was sending the wrong rx to the pharmacy, which cost me $100. Unacceptable the way they rush, assume & quick to give out the wrong info. Dr. DeSilva is wonderful, but once you leave the treatment room after talking with her, nothing gets done!! I've had to repeatedly ask for lab orders & rx's to be sent out. In addition, they failed to update orders in the system. How embarrassing that the Dr has to call the pharmacy to see what the last dosage was because her staff failed to update the chart. Complaints to management & Dr DeSilva were a total waste of time, nothing has improved, it just gets worse!! Moving on to where patient care matters & I'm taking my husband with me!

As a PCP I found her rude, unprofessional, and dangerously haphazard with healthcare…read more I got a bad feeling when I came to my first appointment visibly injured--bruises, scabs, and cuts on my legs/arms/hands--and she didn't comment on it at all. It was due to a nasty fall, not serious, but I thought it odd that Dr Motlagh didn't seem to notice or show any curiosity/ concern. Not a dealbreaker, but she was one red flag after another after that. Also, as a new patient, she makes you sign a form waiving a right to legal action, forcing you through arbitration if she commits medical malpractice. She overbooks and under-serves her patients. When I asked about it, the nurse told me a wait of 30-60 minutes was STANDARD. Sure, that's happened sometimes in past clinics due to the dr giving each patient careful time and attention on their care...but she does not. My time with her felt like she was rushing me out the door. Other doctors will apologize for even a 15 minute wait--after a 45 minute long wait, Dr. Motlagh told me "If you don't like it, you can leave." I definitely felt like I was being milked for as much money as the practice could get, and not just overbooking more patients than she can handle. It's crazy that office policy is to book you to come to a follow-up appointment (with a copay charge, of course) just to go over lab results before you even get those labs done; every doctor I've ever had will email or call with the results; followup appointments are only for if something serious is found in the labs. Being kept waiting almost an hour for that ten-minute appointment is also very unprofessional. The office also made several mistakes with my healthcare, including not knowing why I was in the office, not consulting the info I provided about the medications I was taking when prescribing me something new, and rushing me to the point that I had to chase the doctor down in the hallway just to get her to answer a question about my health. I'm not surprised--she seems so rushed and behind that I don't have confidence she's taking the time to treat patients right. I've never had a doctor where I felt I had to advocate so hard just to get routine healthcare done right. While her bedside manner can be nice at first, she gets very mean-girl energy the minute you express an issue with anything she says or does. Her language and tone were shockingly dismissive. The rest of the staff is okay, though clearly overworked. I would literally rather drive to Santa Clarita or even LA to see a halfway decent doctor than go to Dr. Motlagh's ever again.

To those claiming she's "only about the money"--that couldn't be further from the truth. The reality is that insurance companies often reimburse physicians far less than they deserve. Despite this, Dr. Motlagh goes above and beyond. I've never seen a primary care doctor spend as much time with patients as she does. Most doctors are in and out in 5-10 minutes--she takes the time to listen and treat each person with compassion and respect. Like all responsible physicians, Dr. Motlagh has to follow strict guidelines from the DEA and medical boards. In many cases, she's required to see patients in person before prescribing certain medications--that's not her choice, it's the law. There's a lot that happens behind the scenes in healthcare that patients may not be aware of. But those processes are in place to protect us and ensure we receive safe, quality care.

I have been sitting in the lobby for over an hour, with a full house. I mean, it's giving me time and energy to go on here and give you all a heads up. It's like they schedule 20 appts at the same time and who knows where on the list you'll be. The reasoning behind the wait was that some require more attention than others (pregnant women) so you would think, you'll have this system in place with sufficient time for each patient right? But no. If you like to waste time, this is the place for you. Just make sure to bring some headphones and entertainment device to keep you busy because there's no TV here.
