I have been with this office since 2018. At first, I was concerned due to confiding into the front office staff of undiagnosed postpartum/clinical depression. Fast forward to Gisela, Paredes. She is very approachable and relatable. She takes as much time to devote to her patients as possible. She is not only my primary physician but has also seen both my of two younger kids. She is capable of treating over a virtual appointment, in person, and so forth. Dr. Nasser is a knowledgeable, caring and attentive medical doctor. I would also like to mention Tony who takes care of the medications. We had a lot of problems with obtaining 2 medications from Walgreens on 30th and L in Lancaster, Ca. Tony, patiently, over a period of more than one week, kept faxing the prescriptions to Walgreens and they kept denying it for one reason or another until finally they approved it. I saw the new doctor, Dr. Sidhu, and I cannot say enough awesome things about him. He immediately diagnosed me when other doctors hadn't figured it out in three years. He listened and was extremely knowledgeable. He also asked me to make a follow up to see how I was doing. No doctors have bothered with that in 3 years. He ordered my records, reviewed them quickly, and had someone call me with his findings right away. I love their new doctor and will be a regular patient of his from now on!!!! read more

I had a persistent cough a few months ago. I saw Dr Nasser. She ran blood test, X-rays right away. I had previously seen another doctor, who took no action. Does anybody know where Dr. Susan Nasser went? She is no longer at Family First on 10th Street, West. After booking appointments with her months in advance, suddenly, I get a call from the office telling me she is gone, I need to be rescheduled with someone else and I have been left seeing three different PAs in that office. I understand that staff cannot tell me much, but I have been told everything from "we don't know what is happening around here" to "she is no longer practicing medicine". This is very unsettling for patients needing good consistent medical care. She is a great physician and if she has moved to a different practice in this area then I want to transfer my care to that place. I can't keep seeing a different PA every time I go to my monthly office visit. Dr. Nasser, herself, gets five stars, but, the Family First practice gets only two for how my care is being shuffled around and the poor responses from office staff. The PAs are nice enough, but they are not the primary care physician that I need. Does anybody know what happened to her? Has she left for good? read more

Well, the staff has changed. When they finally took me in, they TRULY cared about what I was feeling. Unfortunately, a couple of female doctors left (but life happens and you move on). I started seeing a nurse practitioner (basically a Doctor, if you ask me, Dr. Loc Nguyen. He truly take time to listen to your every concern. Dr. Nasser trained him, I think. He makes me feel comfortable speaking to him about my panic disorder and severe depression. He went so far as to have his team find me a therapist who took my insurance. I was BEYONG grateful. I was release from the hospital and I was told I can see nasser md. It took me awhile to make a call to reach out to her office. I called several times and I was hung up by the MA. After a several times she answer me and said we can't see you. I knew she can because I already had an appointment with her but I wasn't able to make it. With no explanation just said no. read more

I have only met Dr.Nasser at my initial New patient physical and she was very thorough and professional. She seems like the type of doctor who takes time to listen to her patients and didn't seem to be rushing out the door. Since then I have seen her two other nurse practitioners . Both which I was able to see within the same week as I called which is a plus! One was a female and the other one was a male (unfortunately I don't remember their names) both were very welcoming and professional . Also very thorough. The office seems really clean and so do the patient rooms. The front staff seems to Be friendly and professional. * The only negative issue I've had is with call backs with the nurses . I've left a few messages and never got a call. Other than that everything seems good so far! read more

I am a former Kaiser participant and decided to try Blue Cross. I was so stressed out after visiting "Family First Medical." Although I never got a chance to see Dr. Nasir, I don't think a visit with her could have made the experience any better. Their whole process was terrifying. I am used to things being very simple considering Kaiser is a full service operation and the process is well organized. However, I wanted to try Blue Cross to experience the variety of options. I booked an appointment for my annual physical with Family First. Dr. Nasir was not available so I selected another doctor in the office until she was available. . First of all, I explained to the doctor that I hadn't been able to get my blood pressure medication refilled since I had relocated from Seattle and that it had been nearly 3 months since I'd had them but I was monitoring my BP at home and it hadn't been high so I wanted to hold off on the meds and see how it went. He agreed and gave me a chart to keep the records. Well about a month later, unfortunately, my BP did go back up. When I called Family First Medical and asked if they could call the prescription in, I was told that I would have to schedule a visit for that. Well considering all they did was write the prescription when I got there, I will have to assume the visit was for the $30 copay and whatever the insurance co paid them. At my initial visit that was in mid September, I was told that Dr. Nasir was the only one who could do my Pap test and that she couldn't see me until December. Well call me spoiled but I don't care if it was scheduled 2 days prior, Kaiser "ALWAYS" sent me a text or call to remind me of my appointment so I definitely think it would be customary for any office to send a reminder for an appointment 3 months out. Not them! They sent a no show bill for $25. The final straw was when I was sent out on a referral for my mammogram and was told that it would be a $30 copay! My insurance does not charge a copay for preventive care and nor has any other doctor ever charged me for it either! Bottom line. Family is anything but first at this office. It should be called money first. If you can't trust them with your wallet, you definitely shouldn't trust them with your health/ life. The good news is that I have found a doctors office in Palmdale. Dr Ana's Entabi over at West Palmdale Health Care, so far has offered me A-1 care and I could feel the difference like day and night. On my first visit, I was able to complete blood work, Pap test and scheduled a mammogram. Unlike Family First who service was very impersonal, the Dr and staff at WPHC was very attentive and answered all my questions as if I was their very on family member. I would definitely recommend anyone who's having a hard time finding reliable care to give them a try and stay away from Family First unless you just like paying for nothing. read more

I have been on the hunt for a new primary since my old one moved away. I am glad to say that Dr. Nasser is the one! She was recommended by a friend and now I have already recommended her to several friends. She was so kind and thorough and I just really felt like she cared a lot. She is practical, and really listens. Never felt rushed like I do at other offices. I am surprised to read the reviews talking about rude staff. Everyone at the office was very friendly and reserved. I can only guess that, since they are older reviews, they might not be applicable any longer. If you are searching for a primary, I highly recommend this office. read more

Dr Susan Nasser office staff is the absolute worse and my family has years of experience dealing with this inept practice. You can be first in line for the phone cue and still wait 15-20 to get your call answered. AVORS do not answer the phone for appts or billing. Staff members have major attitudes when you book appointment or just check in for an office call. Walking up the stairs to Nasser's office first impression disgusting maybe vacuum the stairs once a month. Good luck trying to reach the office manger she is a ghost. There is constant turn over of nurse practitioners and nurses are all students. In my opinion Dr Nasser treats her practice as a hobby. Two stars in generous for this medical practice. Dr Nasser is IMO a 5 Star physician. The best doctor in the AV. She cares about her patients and I am so grateful for her. I'm writing this review in hopes that she see it and does something about the staff that she surrounds herself with. The prescription nurse does a great job and the PAs are great as well. The office manager is a glorified receptionist- I have had some help with her from time to time but not much. The real issue is the two gals at the front desk- Brittany and the other short hair blond gal. They are rude and have no sense of customer service. I have heard them complain about overtime being cut off and the doctor herself. They check you in and don't have a smile, or ask how you are. They just move you along- I don't think it matches the way Dr Nasser presents herself. It's unfortunate. If you call the office, you are likely to get Brittany's voicemail. I say this because you hear "you've reached Brittany" and I think it should say "you've reached the office of Dr Nasser;" that's more professional IMO, but I'm just a professional, choosing to see a great doctor and looking past the under qualified staff that "supports" her. This is not just a me issue- I have heard SO MANY people complain about Brittany and the staff. It's beyond imaginable to me that she is still there based on the reviews alone. My suggestion to Dr Nasser is to hire an actual professional medical office manager; someone who has the level of care that she has and let them evaluate the needs of the office. I read the review below and I know that patients are not required to provide their social security numbers to a medical office but I can totally see how this played out with Brittany. The staff needs to up their game and level of customer service and support to the patients. I, and many others feel as though Brittany is unprofessional and should be removed from the role. I don't know why Yelp filtered the other two 5-star reviews. I've seen Dr. Nasser twice (once at AV Ped and once at her new office). Both times I didn't feel like I was being rushed and she took the time to address my problems and prescribe treatment. Their new office on 10th West (near Ave M) is brand new and clean. Staff seemed friendly though I think they're still going through some growing pains with getting efficient processes in place from the office admin side. I do feel a bit awkward since it's a "Family Practice" decorated for kids and I'm a 27 year old male but Dr. Nasser's care is worth dealing with that! read more

I highly recommend Dr. Susan Nasser from when we used to live in that area. I loved her when she was with her old family practice probably 7 yrs ago before ago before she relocated to 10W. I can't speak to her new location, nor the staff, yet Dr. Nasser helped me end a condition I had suffered with post breast cancer that many older (middle aged) male docs didn't bother to investigate options for. She reached out to an associate of hers in the Midwest and we were soon on the road to an actual FIX for my issue. I was thrilled. Like everyone else has stated Dr. Nasser is amazing. It is unfortunate that I am writing this review right now and looking for a new pediatrician. Her office staff is horrendous! After seeing the PA instead of Dr. Nasser I noticed my insurance was wrong. So instead of helping me correct the problem or apologizing for changing me the incorrectly for the copay they just told me to go down stairs. Then when I turned and walked away she yelled "Have A nice day!" Sarcastically across the room. I left that appointment with no answers or solutions for my child's pain and was treated poorly. I will not be back and will be seeking out an office that actually cares about their patients which is a real shame because we love Dr. Nasser. read more

Update. This is not at all, in anyway, shape or form, about Susan Nasser. Because like I said in my previous review, she's amazing. I called every single day last week and the phone went straight to voicemail every time, during business hours. Thursday I finally left a voicemail, angrily of course. I mean come on, I need to make a pre op appt my surgery is less than two weeks away and why their phones go straight to voicemail during business hours is insane. I got a call back, I asked for an appt for pre op with my primary, Susan Nasser. Get there today to find out she isn't there & im seeing Loc. While I'm waiting 45 minutes to be called and watching the tumbleweeds blow through the waiting room the receptionist calls me to the desk to tell me the last two months AVORS has tried to run my auto payment it was declined & that I can't be seen today without a payment of $55. I asked why if my payment was declined has no one called me?? What if I didn't come today you guys were just going to let it go and go? So I have $10 on me do you want that or do you want to cancel this appt and me cancel my surgery because of a NON communication error on their part? She takes the $10. I go back do vitals, and the MA is asking me how to fill out the Pre Op paperwork for a good 5 min before he decides he should go ask someone else. We finish that and I wait 30 min for Loc even tho there is no other patients waiting. He comes in, greets me with a hey bud and if I'm ready for the holidays I respond and his response is he's ready for the day to be over. Cool, me too so let's make this quick. After asking me a million questions he pulls out my pre op sheet & says they didn't fill this out for me. Mind you it's 6 questions. He says no no I'm not filling this out they need to fill it out, referring to the MA's. Wtf is the difference? Why do I have to wait longer when your the NP & you have the paper & a pen in ur hand & me right in front of you? Why is it so hard for you to do it and avoid wasting anymore of my time or yours ? But there I was rerouted to the waiting room because he didn't want to check a few boxes!!! Really? I cannot stand this guy & this isn't the first time he's gotten under my skin. So there I am; in the waiting room alone, an additional 15 unnecessary minutes waiting for a MA to check the boxes for him while he does idk what. When I get to the car I see that they checked 3 boxes. Nothing of any importance, nothing that was medically important. It made no sense to me that he insisted on having me wait longer it appeared to be pure laziness on his part. I just can't stand this guy. I truly wish she had someone better representing her cause she herself is phenomenal. However, I'm sure there are patients who meet him before her and for that, I feel terrible. The patients would never know any better and that makes me feel horrible for Nasser. read more

I would have to agree with a lot of the reviews on here. This Dr. may be good, but you'll have to get through the staff and then the Nurse practitioners. I took a chance on this Dr. and I never got to see her. I was given one of the practitioners and they were less then helpful in hearing my complaints, dismissed other things I wanted to discuss and then sent me out the door.. I was not real happy with this experience here.. Nice office in an okay area. Staff in the lobby can be okay, not the best in customer service. While I was waiting to see the Dr., one was arguing on the phone with a client. I don't know the whole conversation but if you've ever been in the customer service industry, that's never good when you hear it... If I actually got to see Dr. Nasser in person, maybe that office does deserve a 4 or 5??? Long waiting time before seen and then just sat in the medical chair for awhile before they even came back to see me.. I guess if you're that busy, maybe they should see less patients during the day? read more

I just switched to her office for my family. During my interviewing appointment I asked about same day appointments when your child is sick. She said that there is only 2 of them there, but as mom's themselves they understand and do their best to see the sick child. I thought ...great! Well...I called on Aug. 2nd to have my sick child seen (I think he has bronchitis) and I was told the earliest he can be seen was AUGUST 18...WTF!!! I was told to go to urgent care. If you can't see my child when he/she is sick, then you will only see then once a year and I will be going to urgent care all the time -- so that would be like I have no insurance. I have insurance for a reason! If a doctor cannot see a sick child within 2 days, there is something WRONG! Although I really liked Dr. Nasser, I will be changing doctors because of this. read more

Dr Nasser might be great but her stuff and office personnel are horrible. They mess up apts and do not care that they have. The staff is the support system for the doc and if they are horrible you care is reflected in that. Her staff is not a support system that betters the healthcare of patients I was just lied too about apt times when I have docs to back it up. The office manager has a history of doing this plus they gave my Mom the wrong meds on a prescription..... Yes the wrong meds were giving to her....not a staff to trust with your medical care go elsewhere. read more

Worst doctor's office ever!! They never call back, and doctor rush through exams. Under staffed, and unprofessional.

We have used this doctor for over a year. The customer service and wait times are extremely frustrating. The girl at the front desk could care less about you and your needs. She is rude and has no professionalism to her at all. I called for the last week to get an appointment for my daughters stomach pains and was told each time to goto the emergency room. My wife made an appointment for today at 230, we showed up at 225 the girl behind the desk said our appointment had been cancelled because we were 20 minutes late. I asked did you call to check or can we still get in. They said "no and I mentioned again about my daughters stomach pain" she goto the emergency room. I asked to speak to the office manager and as usual she is not there. We are changing doctors due to the unprofessionalism of this office and we are currently at the emergency room because we have no other choice for now. read more

I have been a patient of Dr. Susan Nasser for about 5 years. Yet, it is very difficult to get an appointment with her personally. She is always booked several months out so you are forced to see her PA's. This is not acceptable when a medical issue arises that needs a doctor's evaluation and medical expertise (i.e. trying to diagnose hypertension) and not a PA overseeing my medical visits. So I don't like being charged for a doctors visit and exam when all I'm seeing is a PA who does not have the same medical training as a certified doctor. At my last appointment in April 2018, I had a run in with one of the front girls who I believe was Brittany. I was told it is now a requirement to have a patients social security number on file. I told Brittany that I do not give my social security number out as a precaution of identity theft. After 5 years without a billing problem as my PPO pays for every service, minus the co-pay upfront, I was told that Dr. Nasser refuses to see me if I refuse to give my SSN. I was very shocked and saddened by that news. I could not talk to Dr. Nasser about my situation as I was told she would not see me without my providing my SSN. So I walked out and there ends my doctor-patient relationship with Dr. Susan Nasser. I must say that Brittany was very cold and rude and not medically professional at all. It's a shame and has left a bad impression of Dr. Nasser's medical practice. I wonder if Dr. Nasser even knows what takes place up front? Since I was kept from seeing Dr. Nasser one last time, I'd like to take the time to tell her good-bye and to thank her for her time and assistance these past 5 years. She is so incredibly nice, professional and I did respect her personal medical expertise and care. read more

STAY AWAY from this medical office. They are the worst in the AV. Dr. Nasser may be good, but you'll never know because you will never get to see her. You only get seen by less qualified people. No one ever knows why you have an appointment. Even when THEY call YOU in for an appointment, their first question is "So why are you here today?" If you have a serious illness or something acutely painful to deal with, don't bother trying to get in right away. They will schedule you weeks out, no exceptions. You should just go right to Urgent Care and then find someone else to help you long term. Worst of all, even when you're on time for your appointment and the office isn't busy, they will put you in an examination room and then completely forget you're there... it happened to me. Then they canceled the prescription refill, which was the reason for the visit in the first place. This entire office staff needs retraining. read more

If I could choose negative stars I would! HORRIBLE staff and HORRIFIC customer service to say the least. I have been a patient for over a year. I can't wait to find a new doctor and staff too assist me with my medical needs and staff that has a better tone and professionalism!!!! I thought that maybe just maybe this facility contracted through HDMG would be a worthy place but no such luck! They charge for any paperwork.
