I scheduled my appointments weeks ago for both my kids who have separate insurances. I gave the info for both of them at the time of booking and then offered to pay cash since they could not reconcile one of the carriers with their system. They told me this was in violation of their contract and they could not see him (4 days before the appointment). They offered that I could change his entire insurance carrier....something I have not the time nor inclination or even possibility to do. I cancelled the appointments with both kids. They wasted my time and now I have to wait again for new appointments when my kid has a dental issue. I called Oregon Kids Pediatric Dentistry and they gave me specific instructions on how to change JUST the dental piece of the insurance, and made sure I understood completely both the why and the how and got my kids scheduled. I recommend you use them instead. read more

Very disappointed! My daughter was seen yesterday for cleaning and after months of me calling and saying, she has a tooth that has been bothering her and having an appt scheduled in March after waiting for close to a year to get a crown. They told me, they can't even do the crown that I have to find another dentist. They never scheduled room to her get the tooth checked out, she has been in pain and they just ignored it. read more

Took weeks of calling, with no call back from them, to even get in. Told I needed a referal(I didnt), had a whole complicated situation with that. Finally got in, they did x-rays and a quick(absolutely shoddy honestly) evaluation and said they wanted to put my 3yr old under for the restorative work(fillings and such). So had to go to our ped to garrenty kid was healthy enough to be put under, then finally got scheduled(again calling multiple times, no callbacks). Then as appt approached I had a day but not a time and called their anesthesia people to verify a time and they had me on books for a week later than what i was originally scheduled. Got that worked out and was informed no parents in proceedure room at all, my child is 3 and has pre-existing traumas... who makes a child go through poking and prodding to get put under without a parent. Ridiculous and unsafe for a child in my opinion. At min a child should have a parent as they go under and then as they wake up. These people and the anesthesia company in town are sus af. And ok with traumatising children. Do not recomend. They got more than 1 star because when i did get ahold of them they seemed understanding and kind for the most part. Honestly the office manager Paola gets them a whole dang star herself, she was so helpful and understanding. Unfortunately my son after months of all this is actually in pain now from a tooth and they have failed him, dont let them fail others. read more

My son has been coming here for years, we have seen a few dentists and its always been a great experience...until today. This rating is specific to the dentist we saw because I cannot fathom how she works with humans, especially tiny humans! As soon as she walked over, I felt the disconnect and lack of compassion for my child. She didn't introduce herself or talk to him much at all. I felt belittled as a parent, I felt like my choices and decisions weren't valued. Instead of being informed and educated, I was told that if I want to let my son's cavity "just get bigger and bigger, that's your choice". Statements like "well we treat tons of kids every day" to justify why concerns did not matter. I was told the procedure we just did recently was not done any longer, so I had no choices except the one being presented or to be neglectful of my son's dental health. Instead of being told what the benefits were, I was told that the other options are archaic and borderline barbaric. When I voiced concern over needles (my son has anxiety and is VERY sensitive to pain) I was told that its just my worry being portrayed. The body language and tone used was not professional or respectful and to be honest if this dentist was our only option I'd never return nor recommend her to any parent. It's sad to think that a child-specific dentist would hire someone who clearly should never work with children. read more

If I could give this dentist no stars I would, I was at the Springfield location, they had to take quite a few teeth out from my 7 year old daughters mouth, I went into the anesthesia room with her and she was freaking out so bad they told me to leave and practically pushed me out of the room and I could see them turning up all the buttons on the machine. When she got out she woke up and we got in the car, 5 minutes into the drive home she stopped breathing completely, turned pale and unresponsive. I took her straight to the hospital and they saved her life. Don't go here! If your kid has anxiety at all they will just over dose them and send them off. read more

The dentist himself is AMAZING! Only place both my children are seen (except occasionally the sister office in Springfield). Front desk staff isn't always helpful though. I called for an emergency appointment for my son, explained exactly what was going on. She pulled up the schedule and said she could get me in, in a week. Not emergency but fine whatever it was only 7 days, we could figure out how to manage it. But then it got scheduled as a routine cleaning as if she disregarded everything I said. This was quickly corrected In the office and the dentist was amazing and took care of my son! Definitely a hit and a miss all at the same moment but the dentist is so amazing that I'll take iffy front desk staff to be able to see him still read more

Our kids have been going here for a few years. Once Dr. Tyler Whiting came on board we have had an even better experience. He is very open to alternative treatment optioschedules due to health concerns and is very knowledgeable about those! Thanks to him and the wonderful office staff, we feel very comfortable getting treatment here. Update: went in for appointment today, and they could not perform the work they promised. What year is it when you can't offer porcelain caps for kiddos. I was given the option thirty years ago in San Diego. No option of discussion, won't be returning. read more

Best Staff for Children, My kids enjoyed the dentist. I was shocked at how good they were with my Kiddos.

Since January I've been going back and forth with this dentist to get my son an appointment. Every time I call I'm advised his insurance is expired and they need updated information. I call our insurance and they say everything is fine that they've been updated. I call back today and again I'm told it's expired. I explained it's not and I've called my insurance numerous times. The lady who I spoke with acts like I'm inconveniencing her as have the others when I ask for them to call. It's your job. If you don't like it find another job. Or I just need to find another dentist for my kiddo. read more

My daughters dentist at Eugene Kid's is literally the nicest guy- Dr Whiting. Lol, he has a very appropriate name for his profession. My daughter is a toddler, and he sings the "brush brush brush your teeth" song as he's working on her, and I can tell she really likes him. He didn't judge me when I came back in only 2 months after her first cleaning because I noticed some tartar built up. He also showed me multiple great ways to brush the teeth on a screaming, flailing gremlin toddler. Not to mention, he's pretty easy on the eyes, I'm not gonna lie. Great dentist, great office, all the office staff are super friendly and love kids. 10/10 experience every time I go, and I always look forward to coming back. He takes great care of my kiddos teeth. read more

My daughter has been coming here since her very first dentist appointment 6 years ago and we have always been so happy here. She has trouble with X-rays and gagging a lot and they don't ever push her or make her try too much. She loves the way they talk to her and treat her. We love coming here and will continue to do so for as long as she can! read more

This is an amazing place for kids to get dental care. I've been taking my son there for years, and we've always had a great experience. The staff know how to set kids and parents at ease. I appreciate that they talk to my son (who is 11) rather than only taking to me. They do a good job of explaining everything they are doing and helping him feel comfortable. read more

I've been there twice and while I like the staff and Dentist quite well...they have nothing to distract children that are hyper and full of energy so I spend most of my time holding down my child or chasing after him while I wait for the Dentist. I go into a full sweat every time and it's an uncomfortable experience. I wish they had some sort of distraction for those younger even fearful children but they do not. read more

The dentist at this practice is fantastic!!! My granddaughter needed four cavities filled, but refused to have any numbing or shots for the procedures. Well, he talked to her about it and agreed to try it her way. He was extremely patient and explained everything as he went. They worked as a team and she was able to have them all done without any injections or drama. My granddaughter is definitely a twelve year old drama queen, so four fillings without any hysterics was wonderful!! All the staff are very nice and appointments run on time. If I could give this place negative stars I would.. We are a newer client and took my son here. They found a few cavities, the dentist came in to talk about options but kind of just told me very fast and left. Luckily the lady doing the cleaning explained what he said. Our options where doing GA to do fillings or full knock out and putting caps on all the cavity's even though only one was a little bigger. I had to make a decision right then and there and made the appointment for the GA. It was an 8 month wait!! But if you want to knock out you're 4 year old and give them a mouth full of caps it was only a few months less. The lady at the desk said she would put me on a cancellation list hoping I could get an earlier appointment. I was not called one time if someone did cancel but funny enough the morning of the cleaning there was a cancellation and was told "oh if only you called this morning we could have gotten you in because there was a cancellation". Very disappointed in that as the office was supposed to be calling me for cancellations not the other way around. After eight months of waiting we where back just for the cleaning (not even the filling appointment) and they said that one tooth was to far gone and will now have to be pulled and the one next to it needed a cap. And maybe the others could be filled but my son would have to be holding still in that appointment. I made a fuss about why the heck it takes 8months to get it fixed it they knew it was so bad ( sorry to the lady's that had to deal with me but I told them it's not you I'm mad at it's the situation) finally getting the filling appointment that now has become a pull and cap one the dentist said we can try to fill one but kid has to hold still after the pull and cap.. my son was getting wiggly so they decided not to do any fill but the dentist was so adamant about caps like very pushy since day one about caps. Not happy about that. And once again fillings are now only available in October 2023?!! They have definitely taken on way more clients than they can handle and don't care to fix it. I would suggest you just find a different place and avoid this place all together. read more

Worst dental office in Oregon! Don't waste your time or money! Front office staff fail to properly note your account and management will call you liar because they didn't note your account. The billing department/ "operations" manager, failed to accurately check my son's insurance benefits, after I CALLED and requested that they update their treatment "estimate" with accurate billing info. The front office then wrongly charged my husband 400% more than our insurance portion and refused to refund the overpayment. I had to involve my insurance company to rectify their error. On top of the unprofessional and uneducated business office staff, the dentist told us my son urgently needed a tooth extracted as he had a painful nerve exposed, but the next available appoint was 5 MONTHS out.. Don't trust your children or your money with this company. read more

I brought my grandson in for a cleaning. The office was clearly designed with children in mind. He got to pick out a movie to watch. The staff was super friendly and the assistant Nicole... was very informative and explained everything to me and to him. The dentist Dr. Richardson was amazing as well, explaining each step. My grandson was not nervous at all. I wouldn't want to take them anywhere else after coming here. I am super impressed. read more

All I can say is a friend had the same exact situation as us happen with their son... horrible treatment by office staff, and a $4500 treatment (after insurance) that "is fairly urgent" we got two other opinions and went with Dr. Barta on Willamette. They charged only $700 and their staff are amazing. Dr Barta came in after hours to fix an emergency with compassion too. DO NOT waste your time or money at Eugene Kids Dentist. I think they're fine for routine maintenance, however, anything extra, get out as quick as you can! read more

The people at this dental office are nice enough but........... I had to wait 8 months to get my daughter in for a basic teeth cleaning. Today they called to say they had to move my daughters appointment for whatever reason. They only offered me tomorrow or not at all in the foreseeable future. What? In addition, my daughter had an ortho consult set up for 5 months and called to cancel, again no forseeable future appointment. This place gets good reviews but I don't see how with how terrible their staff and schedule is managed.... I'll be trying to find a new dentist for my kiddo. They probably won't mind considering they are understaffed and overbooked. read more

If you have a little one wary of the dentist chair like mine, never fear! They enjoy choosing their movie to watch on a screen hanging above their heads throughout the procedure, there is lively murals throughout the building, the staff is engaging and kind, and the promise of a little toy at the end never hurts... A few years ago we had our very first visit and it did NOT go smoothly. My son has autism and suffers from an anxiety disorder which can turn something already so fraught with worry into a full on ordeal. Despite being busy, Dr. Richardson focused on easing the visit for both of us. He managed to coax him into getting his xrays and cleaning even though it took him about twice as long as it should have. Having a child with special needs often breeds insensitivity in others; I found this not to be the case here. I won't take my kids anywhere else! read more

Dentist and hygienist are good. But the one supporting staff- financial staff sucks with customer service. We got a call from them forcing us to pay for another bill that the insurance did not cover saying we'll get finance charge if not settled that day. We did not the get the bill so we are not aware of it. I spoke with MORGAN and I told her that we're not aware of the additional payment since we already paid at the time of my son's appointment. It turned out that the zip code on the account was not right so the bill was not mailed. I asked her mail the bill again to the right addresses first so we could see it before making any payment. She wanted to take my card info even with my request to send the bill first. I received the bill yesterday and called back willing to pay for the rest of the amount the insurance did not cover. The bill statement also includes a narrative that she wrote when I spoke with her on the phone last and it did appear that I was upset because I had to pay another amount. It was not fair!! I was upset with the phone call forcing my wife and me to pay for the amount of money that we are not even aware of just because the bill was not mailed to correct address. She did not sound genuinely sorry for inconvenience and the way it come across us. She did not even try to win us back when I said we're transferring to a different clinic just because of that impression she made. Hoping Eugene Kids will assess their customer service. read more

Can i put no stars? I have 3 children, it's extremely difficult to get them into the dentist at the same time not to mention time consuming when the time comes and I have to take them out of school. So when I wait months for an appointment and show up to the appointment only to be told I didn't confirm via text message so they cancelled ALL of my children's appointments I was infuriated. I scheduled the appointment, that should be enough confirmation that we will be there. How about calling? I'm a full time nurse and mom of 3, I'm not sitting next to my phone waiting to text the dentist. Than the receptionist looked at me like I had done something wrong and when I stated that I was extremely frustrated Andy had just taken all the kids out of school she looked at me blankly and said nothing. So I will be finding a new dentist and don't recommend anyone visit here and expect their appointments to be kept. Thanks for a big waste of our day! read more
