I've always loved the choices and quality of Ethan Allen. It can be pricey but they have a credit card that does provide interest free for up to a year. That makes it easier for my family to purchase a quality piece without the guilt of added interest. My designer, Mary Lawlor, is exceptional to work with. She has made time to come to my home on numerous occasions and carefully chose pieces to complete several rooms in my home, to perfection. I have purchased many pieces on clearance and I have always been treated as though I am a big spender! I love working with her! Simply the best! read more

We were originally told our sofa would arrive in mid-May (which was a long time to begin with since we ordered it on the last day of Feb). Then, I was told it was pushed to a Memorial Day arrival and now I just received a call and was told it may be here by mid-June, due to a fabric delay. We don't even want our damn sofa anymore but we had to put money down when we ordered it so we can't cancel it now. Here we are in a new home with no sofa and I am absolutely pissed. The furniture? The best. I love Ethan Allen furniture. Always have, and probably always will. The customer service? Seriously lacking. As I read the other reviews, I am seeing a lot of similarities and am beginning to think that the company has a very flawed service model. It may not be worth the hassle. I ordered dining chairs in April which were supposed to be delivered by the end of May. Over 2 months after the date we were promised, I finally received the chairs today (7/29). The sales person, Jeanette, was nice, but never let us know about the delay. When I finally called the store after not hearing anything by late June, Jeanette never called me. A manager who seemed completely bothered by me finally took my call- reluctantly, as she was "very busy on the Vineyard", and didn't have much time for servicing my inquiry. No apologies were made, only excuses. I was respectful throughout the transaction and all of the problems that went along with it, and felt that the "service" people were condescending and had little follow-through. Their motto is "over-promise, under-deliver". Makes me second guess my love for Ethan Allen furniture. read more

I had the pleasure of working with Cat O'Donnell in updating my bedroom. I wanted to add an upholstered bed, drapes and bedding to my existing room. Cat came out to the house took some measurements and we met a week later in the showroom. Cat had selected some beautiful fabrics and designs. I could not have been happier. My husband and I closed on our new home in middle of December - I started researching a dining room table that I wanted. My mom and I stopped into Ethan Allen and I found something that I loved - Dolores was very helpful that day and explained to me that the day after Christmas there would be a 25% off sale. I visited the store the day after Christmas to purchase the table - maybe I didn't hear her last time but she then explained to me I needed to purchase 2 items to get the discount so I bought something little I didn't even want which I think I may try to return now. Ordered the table on 12/26 and it was delivered on 2/23, right on schedule when I was expecting. The table was delivered and right away I see two pretty decent size gauges in the center of the table. The table is a farmhouse rustic table however these two gauges in the middle are about 2-4 inches each and are rough/indented, there is no finish on them and they definitely should not be there. The delivery guy took many photos and apologized and said customer service should be contacting you within 5 biz days. Nothing. I call/email Dolores and she comes over herself to take photos and says the same thing, I'll submit a ticket and customer service should be contacting you. Nothing. I end up emailing Dolores a week and a half later and she responds with this email that they'll probably just say "it's supposed to be there" - that is unacceptable as I haven't received a phone call yet and that is not what you said when you visited my house! So i call customer service myself and no ticket was submitted. They sent a technician out - all he did was take more photos. This store is giving me the run around and for such high prices I would expect top notch customer service which is exactly why I purchased the table from there to begin with. I'm calling customer service one last time today but if I don't get the answer I want - either a technician to come repair the table or a new table top I will try to return. What a waste of time and energy - I will not be purchasing anything from them again! read more

She really listened to our needs, came out and measured the space, helped us figure a layout that made sense to meet our functional needs, and provided options to style the space. I dealt with Mary in the Quincy showroom. Excellent service and very attentive. She spent quite a bit of time with me and came out to my house to see what would work. Although the prices are pretty high in comparison, the service in the showroom is great. A negative-- shipping was challenging as they are only in the area certain days in the month and I needed to wait almost another month to set up delivery because it was booked. read more

Having a tough time with Ethan Allen Plymouth right now. Ordered an "in stock" coffee table on 4/27/16 and was told I could pick it up in that store on 5/27/16. I called on 5/27 & after much research on their part and several differing answers, I was told table was still in "production." I was told the table would be in the Plymouth store on 7/11/16. It is now 7/12 and am now being told it still has not been shipped to their PA warehouse. I almost cancelled order on 6/29 but gave them another chance. Waiting to hear back the manager now to see what the heck is going on but I can tell you that I am beyond unhappy with this company at this point. And yes, for a high end store, I would expect better customer service, more accurate information, and to get the run-around every time I call. Also on at least 2 occasions now I have gotten an attitude from the Plymouth phone receptionist, Marilyn, who overheard me (while she was in the middle of transferring me to an extension) say to my husband "they can be so nasty when they answer the phone there" (which by the way was an accurate statement as she had to repeat herself and the 2nd time she was very curt and not nice) and she then yelled at me on the line and said "EXCUSE ME! I can hear you you know!" and the proceeded to argue with me for a couple of minutes. Not the kind of treatment I would expect as a customer of this business. Anyhow, waiting to hear from the manager right now. But right now my rating is not going to be good. read more
