We Do - I Do's - Bert and Betsy Harvey

She hardly communicated with us before our wedding, and her communications were not prompt. After we signed the contract with her in April, she sent us the ceremony samples (71 documents in total), and we heard from her only once more before our wedding day. In June, we sent her a draft of the text we chose for our ceremony, asking for feedback, but she did not reply, even to confirm that she received it. We followed up in August to confirm the order of the ceremony on our programs before they went to print. Her reply came, but it was three days after the programs went to print. The actual ceremony, thankfully, went okay. By then, we had handed off communications with Betsy to our day-of-coordinator. Betsy showed up on time, got briefed on ceremony logistics by our coordinator, performed our ceremony reading the draft we had sent her, and witnessed the signing of our marriage license. We opted to file the license ourselves since we could receive copies of the license immediately from the county office, and frankly by this time she hadn't earned our trust that she would file the license in a timely fashion. My wife and I were DIYing our wedding, and those who are planning their own weddings know how extremely stressful the process can be. We had hired Betsy because the services listed on the We Do I Dos website indicated that we would receive assistance and guidance with our ceremony, but we didn't. The services listed on the website that we didn't receive are: -- We can have one additional planning session several weeks before your celebration to finalize your ceremony. (We would have welcomed a discussion about our ceremony plans, but we didn't even get a reply about our draft.) -- We can provide assistance with creating personalized and heartfelt wedding vows. (We didn't receive assistance with the vows, except for receiving the ceremony samples. Much of the text included in these documents was repeated, so it's not like every document was unique.) -- We can guide you in choreographing the processional and with the placement of your attendants. (Nope. No help here. Fortunately we were able to get this done with the help of our day-of-coordinator.) -- You will receive a final draft of your ceremony approx.1 week prior to your wedding for your final approval. (Nope. No final draft received; no confirmation of our draft was made.) In summary, Betsy did perform the essential duties to get us married, but we came away with the feeling that it was just the bare minimum of effort.

Betsy officiated our wedding 10/28/2018. She was very professional and on-time. Recommend !read more

Chaplain Dale Weddings - After Alex and Clayton's winter wedding in Leavenworth

I was concerned about the "elephant in the room" feeling of not having my dad walk down the aisle with me. I wanted to acknowledge the loss respectfully, without overshadowing a day I wanted to be filled with joy. Dale did this with perfect grace. Even before we had the chance to meet Dale, he was very responsive to our initial inquiries. Once we set up our first meeting, Dale mailed us a packet filled with information, ideas for ceremonies, vows, poems. It actually prompted us to sit down and focus better on what we wanted for what was really the most important part of the day. Within minutes of meeting him, we knew Dale was exactly who we wanted and we asked him to officiate on the spot. On the day of the wedding, Dale was prompt, and helped keep us at ease as we got ready. The ceremony flowed beautifully and had our guests laughing and engaged. Just the feel we had hoped for. Afterwards, Dale took care of all the necessary paperwork and we had our certified copies in less than a week.

We were really worried that we wouldn't be able to find an officiant so last-minute, but fortunately, someone recommended Chaplain Dale to us, and we are now SO glad that everything worked out the way that it did. We are so grateful to Dale for stepping in relatively last-minute, and in the end, while it sounded like a great idea at first to have a friend officiate the ceremony, it was ultimately SO nice to have a professional run the show. He had suggestions and options to choose from for each stage of the ceremony, and he allowed us to customize all of it to fit us. He came to the rehearsal and helped us think of some important small details that we otherwise wouldn't have. At the wedding, he helped get guests seated in time and then performed a WONDERFUL ceremony. We got compliments on it all night from guests. He was easy to work with, polite, professional, respectful, happy to help everything fit us and our relationship, and made the ceremony feel personal. Strongly recommend him to anyone looking for an officiant!

I got to work with Kirstie for the first time a couple months ago. I'm a wedding DJ, so I come…read moreacross my fair share of wedding planners. Kirstie is exceptional at keeping all the ducks in a row without being overbearing or micromanaging. As a vendor, I really appreciate that. As far as how she gives her clients what they want, never once did the Bride and Groom have "Deer in the headlights" face. That means Kirstie made sure the B&G were fully educated on what to expect. Kirstie is awesome, and I look forward to referring her, and working with her in the future! :)

I highly recommend hiring Kirstie of Simply Wed!…read more Kirstie was the "day of" coordinator for my wedding at the Golden Gardens Bathhouse in July 2012. She went above and beyond the "day of" role and was the best money we spent on our wedding. We communicated frequently the months leading up to the wedding, she ran our ceremony rehearsal the night before, and she worked a 15+ hour day the day of the wedding making sure everything was just how I envisioned it. She also provided a wedding day timeline and contacted vendors for me, among many other tasks I don't have room to list here. I was a type-A (read, anal) bride with a very clear vision and a tiny budget by Seattle standards ($15,000). Kirstie was extremely professional, prompt, and easy to work with before the wedding and during. Although she was planning many weddings at one time, she made me feel like mine was the only one. I picked out several of my vendors myself becuase I knew exactly what I wanted, but Kirstie gave suggestions for the ones I didn't have, and they were all amazing! She has great connections. The set-up for my wedding was tough. There is nothing at Golden Gardens so everything had to be brought in and set up the day of (and taken down and cleaned, which Kirstie did). I also had a lot of DIY details that I wanted arranged a very specific way. Kirstie and her crew worked a crazy, long day arranging flowers, setting up tables, hanging decor, getting everyone in order, etc. Your wedding day is such a blur that you need to spend time enjoying your guests, your new spouse, and just enjoying the moment. You don't want to worry about decor, music, food, etc. You will not be disappointed with Kirstie - she can do as much or as little as you want and need depending on your budget and vision.
