When we became engaged, we realized neither my husband or I wanted to deal with a big wedding- we just wanted a fun, weird low key day that was easy enough that we could really focus on our love, rather than 150 guests. We had come up with a somewhat elaborate lie to get our immediate family down there without letting them know why. Shotgun was completely accommodating and helped us pull off the best surprise ever. You can tell these folks love their job, and who wouldn't? They celebrate love every day. Our special day is one I will never forget. I truly can't recommend them enough.

Whether you are planning a regal ceremony with hundreds of guests, or a quaint little gathering I can provide the service, professionalism and quality that you desire. Let's ease some of the wedding jitters and work together to make an unforgetable moment for you and your partner. Your wedding ceremony will be in your style and in your location. It can be a non-denominational or civil ceremony reflecting your personal taste or family traditions. Simple or elaborate, formal or informal, the wedding can take place indoor or out, at a home, hotel, park or elsewhere. Occasionally couples choose a small, private ceremony in their home or garden. A couple begins by contacting us by phone or e-mail and reserving a wedding date and time. Some couples will reserve a date a year or more in advance. Other couples will call just days or weeks before a wedding. I can meet informally with most couples well before the wedding to plan the ceremony and to learn all the surrounding details e.g. size of the wedding party, music, photography, etc. Then we sketch the outlines of a ceremony and respect the current values and traditions of each couple. Each wedding is a statement of love and commitment, of deep hopes and fondest dreams. I will work with you so that your unique wedding ceremony will be perfect for you, your families and guests.

Francis brought to the table different ways to make this OUR wedding. With every section of the ceremony, there were several choices that we chose from. And Francis said that if we didn't see something that we liked or just wasn't "us" that he had more. He had the most perfect poem that I got my sister to read during the ceremony. This turned out better than I thought it would! Francis was GREAT at communicating with me in a timely manor. It was me who was delayed in responding! His price is very fair. Especially considering the face that he is from Edmonds area and our wedding venue was in Mount Vernon. He has a great personality, and we appreciated his "non-dullness". He added a few comments here and there during the ceremony, which we had already discussed that it would be perfectly fine to do. He asked us if he could do that!! For him to ask if that was okay to do, that's just so thoughtful! His flow of speaking and clarity we great. We appreciate all that he did in preparation for our wedding.

It was an honor for them to think of me and want me to be a part of their wedding, but I admit, I was nervous. How do I become ordained? What do I say? It was a tad overwhelming for me. I spent time researching different places to become ordained online, and I decided on American Marriage Ministries. I chose them because I like what they stand for. From their website: "American Marriage Ministries, its members, ministers and congregants, believe that marriage is a sacred union. We believe that marriage is the natural right of all people, regardless of race, sexual identity, nationality, socioeconomic status, or religious background. We believe that every couple united in marriage has the right to choose how they will observe, and who will conduct, their sacred rite." The process is simple, it seriously took a minute of my time. Their website provides lots of tools to help prepare you for the marriage ceremony, including a guideline of requirements for your state, sample ceremonies, a place to help you write a script, instructions for how to complete the marriage license, etc... I was also able to print out a certificate stating that I am now an ordained minister. The wedding ceremony was great. I am so happy I decided to do this, and now I will be able to marry other friends & family if they want me to. If you have thought about becoming ordained, I think AMM is an awesome way to go!
