My husband and I loved working with Elaine on our wedding ceremony. She's been in this industry a while and it shows! Which meant a lot since we were absolutely clueless. Before we signed anything, we had a quick "get to know you" type call to see if we'd be a good fit and vice versa. After we booked her, she sent over pages and pages and pages of materials for different parts of the ceremony to include and where, readings, a couples questionnaire, and even a guide on how to change your name when all is said and done, if that's your thing. Even though she has a lot of pre-written materials and a template for the ceremony, none of it felt cookie cutter, and I really appreciated the structure of it all. It felt really personalized with our content from the couples questionnaire too. Nothing will come as a surprise either - we got the script beforehand and made little edits here and there. We got so many compliments on how personalized and special our ceremony was! In addition to all of that, she walked us through what happens at each part of the ceremony, who walks in and when, when to hand off your bouquet, etc. We elected not to do a formal rehearsal, so Elaine got to our venue early to coach our wedding party and us before the ceremony began. Throughout it all, my husband and I had the best connection with Elaine and it made our ceremony that much better. It felt like a dear friend or family member married us, and my only regret is that I can't live that day over and over again. Thank you so much, Elaine! Our big day was made all that much better with your care and love and guidance :) read more

I found Elaine when I was looking for an officiant in Seattle. I wanted to work with someone that speaks my language. I greatly appreciate that her website clearly underscores that she supports the LGBTQ+ community and is open to all cultures, traditions and customs. Elaine handled the legal portion of our wedding, while also holding our hands having a close friend handle the ceremonial portion. She was flexible, easy to work with and was available to answer any questions. I highly recommend her services. Thanks for being such an important part of the planning and our day Elaine. read more

Elaine was such a pleasure to work with. She has a lot of experience to offer and it really showed. Elaine was very responsive, organized, and easy to work with. The process of working with her was very smooth and seamless. We didn't have any worries leading up the the Wedding. She offers extensive documents to help you curate your ideal wedding ceremony and offers help whenever needed. She also includes additional, useful documents such as name change process, processional list, and ordering marriage license copies. Elaine was a joy to work with. We can't thank her enough. read more

Doesn't "travel" for signings. Apparently Seattle is considered travel because she isn't actually IN Seattle. Could have been a quick elimination if she had said that outright instead of after a week of emails when we were setting the time. Just very frustrating to have wasted so much time and now have to reschedule everyone when we're already juggling conflicting work schedules. **And in reply to the comment, my frustration is that the condition wasn't communicated from the start, and there's no way we could assume that a place within Seattle would be an issue - and we could have met in most areas of Seattle. A week of wasted time is still a week of wasted time in trying to coordinate multiple people with different schedules. Would just be good if you put a notice somewhere on your site or mentioned in your first email that this is a condition and that you are somewhere up North. And don't pretend COVID is the issue here, if we were paying for a different service you would travel, and either way it's outside with 4 people in masks and distanced. Again, that is not my issue, it is ONLY the missing communication at the beginning. Don't try to make it into something else. read more

Where do I begin? Elaine was FABULOUS. She helped my husband and I plan our elopement while my husband was stationed in Italy, I was living in Maryland, and our ceremony was to be held in Seattle... all of this during the middle of a pandemic! Elaine had tips and advice for everything, including paperwork/official documents, location ideas, sample ceremonies to choose from/build upon, and photographers. Elaine was so thoughtful and involved throughout the entire process. She was always available for communication and responded to emails quickly. On the big day, Elaine made our ceremony absolutely magical. Everyone on the beach that day surely felt the magic and emotion, none of which would have been possible without Elaine as our officiant. If I could give 6 stars, I would. Elaine truly went above and beyond, and her warm personality made her an absolute joy to work with. read more

Elaine was professional, easy to communicate with, and really took the pressure off by taking care of all paperwork both before and after the wedding! She has worked very hard putting together her own unique document of ceremony materials, which we were able to pick and choose from to create the perfect ceremony for us. My wife is from Ireland and Elaine was also able to incorporate traditional Celtic handfasting into our ceremony, which was beautiful and added a special touch. We had a small, mostly DIY, wedding, and Elaine was able to help with the logistics of moving guests, timing, and really letting everyone know where we needed to be! We had great feedback from our guests that our ceremony suited us perfectly and was very thoughtful. Thanks for everything, Elaine! read more

My then-fiancé and I were looking for a non-expensive way to tie the knot. Yes we could have opted for an extravagant wedding with live figurines playing instrumentals of our favorite love songs. However, we wanted to take a less extravagant approach, and profess our love for one another without creating a mountain of debt. Because our first trip together as a couple was in Seattle, we decided that it would only be right to make it official there. After doing some research on wedding officiants in Seattle, we stumbled upon Ms. Elaine Way. After viewing her reviews and Blog, choosing Elaine seemed like a no-brainer. All of her reviews were positive and exuded genuine appreciation from those who received her services. We were equally impressed by the personable vibe of her website. With it being mid-March, we had a tight deadline of getting everything together for our projected June 10th wedding date. We contacted Elaine via her website and awaited a response... Thirty minutes later we received an email from Elaine describing her many wedding packages and confirming her availability for our projected wedding date. After a thorough review of Elaine's email, we decided to go for the elopement package, one hour of photography (Mrs. Jen Sanders is incredible), and small flower package. Included in all packages is a free one-hour consultation (you definitely want to take advantage of this). During our one-hour consultation (via Skype), Elaine sought to get to know us as a couple, our visions for the wedding, described the marriage process, proposed wedding locations, provided hotel and restaurant recommendations, and supplied suggestions as to how we could get the most out of our package. Throughout the consultation, Elaine was very pleasant, professional, and appeared to be genuinely concerned about ensuring that our big day would be memorable. Although its human nature to have some form of anxiety when such a big event is quickly approaching, Elaine did a great job of checking in on us during the month/weeks/days leading up to the wedding. The only hiccup that we had was a last minute location change a few days prior to the wedding date. I accidently invited too many people, which violated the regulations listed within the park permit. Fortunately, Elaine already had a backup location in mind (Woodland Park Rose Garden). At roughly 4:45pm on June 10, 2016, Elaine announced us as husband and wife. We honestly couldn't be more thankful for Elaine's assistance in making our wedding such an effortless and beautiful event for ourselves and friends. Local weddings are generally stressful, so it takes a special kind of person to gracefully execute a destination wedding. If you're looking for a wedding officiant who is willing to go the extra mile in order to alleviate some of the stress associated with planning a wedding, contact Ms. Elaine Way! read more

Elaine was an absolute joy to deal with on and before our big day. Her calming presence was much appreciated during the planning of our elopement. Save yourself a mess and hire this lady to do your ceremony. This is the biggest day of your life, make sure you are in good hands. read more

My husband and I can't speak highly enough of Elaine's services. She delivered a beautiful, personalized ceremony that really spoke to us. After the ceremony, we received numerous compliments on how special the wording was how great our officiant was. In addition to performing the most perfect ceremony, Elaine also went out of her way to help us with other aspects of the wedding. My husband and I are new to the area, and when Elaine first met us, she spent an hour with us suggesting potential ceremony locations. Elaine also filed all of our paperwork at the courthouse, saving us from taking time off work and eliminating some stress in the weeks leading up to the wedding. Elaine is warm, personable and a joy to work with, and I can't recommend her enough. Thank you very much for your services, Elaine. You are great at what you do. read more

Never have I ever been so disappointed or appalled by someone's services.. or I guess I should say, lack thereof. It took over 1 week for Elaine to respond to our initial e-mail, she was 15mins late to our scheduled Skype appointment (during which she kept very professional by yelling at her dogs & talking to her son) and every time we communicated she made it a point to complain about how busy she was. I understand it's wedding season, but you're an officiant.. it's what you do. Book less weddings & you'll treat your future client base with respect. The final straw was our last phone call. She knew of our location which we had discussed thoroughly, but I had a few questions regarding permits for Alki. She seemed to have forgotten everything we had discussed prior to, and although I just needed a little clarity, was instead made to feel like an idiot. Elaine turned very condescending, became very short & extremely defensive & even had the nerve to tell me that I seemed frustrated & if I wanted a full (non-refundable per website) refund she would gladly make that happen. We were only doing a very small elopement & we can only assume that an inquiry for a larger, better paying ceremony came in for the same evening we had already paid for. If you don't want to take the time for a small elopement, you should remove those services from your website. I understand you're in it for the money, but you made the first few moments of wedding planning a heartbreaking experience. Now that we've seen your true colors we are so incredibly thankful you refunded our money. Our special day is going to be that much more beautiful without you! read more

We hired Elaine to officiate our small wedding ceremony at Hotel Sorrento (Downtown Seattle). We met two times prior to the wedding date to iron out our ceremony details and sign our marriage license. Elaine is a notary as well. We had no issues with our paperwork being filed at the courthouse for us, which is another service Elaine offers. Elaine made our ceremony feel extra special and she was patient with us throughout the entire planning process. I highly recommend Seattle Wedding Officiants. Seattle Wedding Officiants - Our rooftop ceremony officiated by Elaine. - Officiants Near Me

Elaine was our officiant for our wedding this past July. She was amazing. Elaine was recommended to us by DJ Otto Olson and I love working with referrals. When we met with Elaine, she truly made us feel as if we had already known her. Just a few friends having coffee talking about a wedding. WE booked with Elaine pretty early and most went by without communication (which was mostly my fault) however once I reached out to Elaine within a month of our wedding, Elaine was there for us. She helped guide me through writing the ceremony and making edits. She was able to meet with us at the last minute too. During our rehearsal (I apologize that i was running late!!) she made things work. Some of my bridal party noted that she was a little mean and a little intimidating, but i took as "getting shit done". :-) I've been in wedding before where during the rehearsal, no one knows what they're doing because the person SUCKED. Elaine was efficient, knew what she was doing and did not mess around. I thought she was great, thorough and to the point. Our wedding was so beautiful. Elaine was there with us the whole time, made us feel comfortable before the ceremony, during and after. She spoke clearly, genuinely it was so meaningful for my husband and I. She even took care of all the paperwork for us which I am truly grateful for. Thank you Elaine for all that you do! Sabin and I are truly grateful for everything you have done for us. read more

We Loved Elaine. She did a great job with our "wedding for two". With just the two of us I was worried it would be a simple and meaningless wedding. One of the reasons we chose Elaine was because she had such a great attitude about our wedding and wonderful ideas to make it more meaningful. She recommended a wine ceremony, which we did and put our own spin on it. She also had a wide array of readings and vows. When we originally met, I thought my now husband and I would write our own vows but hers were so great, I couldn't have said it better. Elaine also met us a month before our ceremony and we filled out our marriage license information, which was really helpful because we didn't want to have to take a day off of work to go to the courthouse. The day of our wedding Elaine looked lovely. She was organized and direct and lead us through our ceremony kindly. We highly recommend Elaine. read more

We really loved Elaine. She was very sweet & very professional the whole time. Was very attentive & answered our e-mails very quickly even when she was on vacation. She made our ceremony great :) read more

Elaine was personable, helpful and unintrusive.. Perfect for me and what I wanted. My particular situation was not like most.. It was just myself and my so along with our witnesses, our ceremony was short, sweet and beautiful, I actually created our own ceremony (Elaine provided us with guidelines). Elaine and I did most of our communication via email (my preferred way of communicating), although I did have the option to call or text her. Her response time was pretty good and we had no problems understanding what she offered and what I wanted. We met in person at a coffee shop.. Again.. Short and sweet. No nonsense (just the way I like it).. Keep in mind. My ceremony was very simple.. Nothing huge, like some ceremonies I've seen.. And Elaine was on time and prepared. She took care of all the paperwork and was very clear regarding what was to be expected. Big or small... I would recommend Elaine. She's solid. read more

Elaine, You are awesome! - super organized & professional. We are happy we chose you to be a part of our special day. I can't say enough great things about Elaine. I had absolutely zero clue about how weddings worked until speaking with her at our first meeting. She provides a really helpful portfolio informing couples about the wedding process, and you chose what elements you like while omitting the ones that are inconsistent with the mood that you are trying to create. Elaine made it clear on many fronts, that there is no wrong way to do it. This was very comforting to me, as I thought that many of my ideas might be silly. Elaine is a true professional who will walk you through the process step by step so that you are fully prepared for your special day. Her performance during the ceremony is commanding, professional, and warm all at the same time. We highly recommend Elaine as an excellent choice as wedding officiant. read more

I found Elaine while watching one of Pixel Dust's elopement ceremony videos. She seemed so warm and engaging and I was far more impressed with her than the other officiants I'd seen because there was such real emotion and impact in her voice. We spoke over the phone and she was so friendly and made us feel really comfortable. She asked us all about ourselves and our love story which really impressed us! She was very thorough and organized, providing a large document with various options for the wording of each section of the ceremony including some beautiful readings to choose from. Her writing is wonderful and brought me to tears. She took the time to do a video chat with us as well. She helped us plan the small processional and printed out our vows in large print on beautiful shimmering paper! She was just wonderful and I absolutely highly recommend her. read more

As an event planner, I've planned a lot of weddings for other people, but this was my first. I knew Elaine was the perfect person to marry us! She puts a personal touch on each wedding she does. Elaine is very professional, encouraging and thoughtful. She really wanted our wedding to be special to us. We worked together to make sure the wording was just right, and unique to our ceremony. She was early to each of our meetings and made sure all our questions were answered thoroughly. She also went to the courthouse and got our marriage license for us!! Everyone who has planned a wedding knows, this can be a huge time commitment, so the fact that Elaine does this is AWESOME (who really has time to spend at a courthouse 3 days before their wedding?!). I would highly recommend Elaine to anyone getting married - big wedding, small wedding, elopement - she is amazing. read more

I hired Elaine for my Aug. 2012 wedding. Although she is a very friendly woman, we were disappointed with her service. After our initial meeting with her, we seemed confident with our choice. But when it came to the big day, she let us down. A few days before our scheduled rehearsal, Elaine contacted us at the last minute for a time change- she wanted to meet us a bit earlier than expected to rehearse. Ok, no biggie. But, when she arrived at the rehearsal, she addressed me (THE BRIDE whom she'd met and talked with several times before) as the 'person from the cake place'. She literally thought I was the baker and didn't realize I was the bride. I quickly corrected her, she apologized profusely. Although I tried to brush it off, I was extremely embarrassed for her and myself. On the day of our wedding, Elaine arrives about 20 minutes before the ceremony time, flustered and apologizing for being late... she 'got lost' (even though she had been to our ceremony site just days before AND had driving and physical directions). That was extremely disappointing. Her remarks during the ceremony were nicely written and we had prior review of them, however guests commented after the wedding that the 'officiant was a bit lengthy and wordy.' Overall, knowing what I know now, I probably would have thought twice before selecting Elaine as our officiant. read more

Our experience with Elaine was mixed. I hesitate writing this, because I really don't like to complain, but I think it's deserved. We met at a coffee shop to meet and review the process. It was clearly a busy time for her as we were back to back with another appointment and she had trouble remembering our names. She was very helpful in providing lots of information to customize our ceremony and how to change my name after we were married. She also handles the license application which is great. We met with her just about 6 weeks before the wedding and were planning on the elopement package and 2 hours of photography with Jen Sanders. We tried checking in with her in the week prior to the wedding and had a tough time getting a response up until the night before to finalize the ceremony. She expressed how slammed she was. Come the day of the wedding, myself and the bridal party were running about 20-30 minutes late because the roads were blocked for Hemp fest. I heard that Elaine was very verbal in complaining how she had somewhere to be and how rude it was that we were late. Completely understandable, however it was very unprofessional of her to rant and rave to the groom and best man about this. It was so much that my now husband had to be firm with her that she should settle down. She could have just said she had a hard out at whatever time and left it at that. When we arrived, she was curt and made it very clear that we were late and needed to proceed with the first glance and dismissed the fact that I wanted to wait for my mother who was in the following car. She did a good job reciting the ceremony that we wrote, but awkwardly rushed us through the paperwork immediately following the ceremony. She disappeared before I could even give her a card with a tip. I think she might have been there a total of one hour. I guess her family was in town and she was late for a family reunion. All in all she showed up and did what she agreed to, but she surely did not assist in making our day special. She even called the following day to apologize, so she was aware of her unprofessionalism. On the flip side, I'm grateful for the photographer Jen Sanders. She did a phenomenal job and really made us feel comfortable and created some very special memories. Luckily, our wedding day could not be ruined by Elaine's unprofessionalism, but it definitely left a bad taste in our mouths. It was the only part of our wedding day that we look back on and regret hiring her. She made us feel that our small wedding wasn't as important in her schedule and it was more like a business transaction than a joyful event. I think she was just overwhelmed and probably shouldn't have accepted the job. read more

Elaine married my wife and I a few weeks ago, and we wanted to express what a lovely experience we had throughout the process. We live in London, and consequently, we needed help/advice with the paperwork, which Elaine provided both before and after the wedding. She offered to go to the courthouse to get our certified copies of the marriage licence made for us, as we were heading straight to the San Juan Islands after the wedding! Which she then delivered back to us before we left for England - Needless to say she went above and beyond for us! THANK YOU! On a personal level, Elaine is a warm, kind, and a very charismatic person - making the ceremony engaging for not only us, but all our guests. Overall, she is a wonderful Officiant, and we feel lucky to have found her for our wedding day :) read more

Elaine was a dream to work with, very professional and sweet with a joyful presence. She worked with us every step of the way, from writing the perfect ceremony that reflected our values to filing our marriage license. She made it a breeze since she's also a Notary Public, we didn't even wait in line at the marriage license office! She is also wealth of knowledge and provides wedding concierge services and can direct you toward anything you need. Elaine can even roll with the punches, we had our wedding in Georgetown, so when a large jet flew over during the ceremony, she worked in a very funny David Bowie "ground control to Major Tom" reference that was spot on for our personalities and the moment! She'll make you laugh and make you cry but most of all make you and your guests feel special on your special day. read more

My husband and I hired Elaine as our officiant for our August 2013 wedding after hearing so many positive reviews about her ceremonies. At our first meeting, Elaine gave us a folder with an abundance of information from how to apply for a marriage certificate, to how to organize a ceremony, and other wedding-related documents. After our initial meeting we corresponded through email every few weeks up until the week before the wedding, and found Elaine to be very responsive and helpful. But on the day of our wedding, we were a bit let down. At the time the ceremony was supposed to begin (6:00), Elaine was no where to be found. We spent the next 30 minutes frantically trying to make contact with her on her cell phone, pacing around our ceremony location. When we finally made contact, Elaine asked when our wedding was, and then explained that she had made a mistake and had been officiating someone else's 6:00 wedding when she received our call. She literally came running in heels to our ceremony location, and ended up performing a very nice ceremony, where she spoke clearly and loudly, which we really appreciated. Though Elaine was helpful and easy to work with, overall, forgetting our ceremony left a bad taste in our mouths. read more

When my husband chose our American wedding venue I will admit I was not happy about it. I dreaded the thought of attempting to organize a wedding that was not only 3 hours away from home but in a completely different country. Thankfully working with Elaine was one of the easiest parts of this event. When I first contacted Elaine I knew we wanted her to be our officiant. We met a couple of months later at the crab pot and I will admit we got crab not only all over our paper work but all over Elaine. She had everything we needed to file for our license as well as explained the process completely. We hired her on the spot. Over the months she was easy to contact and always replied to emails and messages ASAP. She made changes to our ceremony when asked even less than a week before our wedding. We trusted her completely and she did a great job. Elaine is also a very beautiful woman and was stunning on our wedding day.
