I wanted to express our gratitude for the great fortune of having Chaplain Dale officiate our wedding. My family lost my father about a year before the wedding. I was concerned about the "elephant in the room" feeling of not having my dad walk down the aisle with me. I wanted to acknowledge the loss respectfully, without overshadowing a day I wanted to be filled with joy. Dale did this with perfect grace. Even before we had the chance to meet Dale, he was very responsive to our initial inquiries. Once we set up our first meeting, Dale mailed us a packet filled with information, ideas for ceremonies, vows, poems. It actually prompted us to sit down and focus better on what we wanted for what was really the most important part of the day. Within minutes of meeting him, we knew Dale was exactly who we wanted and we asked him to officiate on the spot. We chose to hire Chaplain Dale after reading reviews and meeting with him in person about 9 months before our wedding. We did not live locally, but Dale made it easy to meet up and discuss everything prior to us deciding on him as our officiant. He is very communicative and responds quickly to texts/emails. He has a very calm attitude and we never felt stressed making any decisions as far as the ceremony process went, thanks to Dale's Ceremony Booklet Guide. He accommodated last minute changes to the ceremony with ease. His travel fee is very reasonable. He showed up on time for the rehearsal and wedding, was friendly and professional through and through. Planned our wedding 8 months in advance and found out we were expecting two weeks later. Called chaplain dale and he said he would refund the money we paid him. (We fully paid upfront) He never sent anything and when we called him back he never answered. After calling from a different line he answered and said he was very busy and would send it soon. 8 months later we have nothing and he refuses to answer any Oregon numbers. Don't go through him. Dont trust Dale Amundsen we were planning on getting married in Leavenworth WA. When on are way out there the weather took a turn for the worst. Snow was coming down and we could not make it over the Stevens Pass in are motor home. It was a scary trip, i made the misfortune to pay in advance for Dale to be are Officiant he sounded like a great guy and thought he was the right choice. I paid $240 for him and his wife to witness are ceremony. I asked for a refund before Christmas and he said he could do half then and half around the first of the year as money was short around the holidays. Its 1/6/2015 no response calls are either ignored or left to go to voice mail. Dont trust him to over see your wedding do u really want someone that will steal your money if things go south. Im filling a lawsuit against him on 1/7/2015. I was really let down by him. read more
