When I found Kaylee's website, I was captivated. I kept looking around, but I knew what I wanted. I recommend booking her early (I did 10 mos in advance). For our engagement shoot, they weren't able to make it all the way out to where we lived. They wanted to meet somewhere more central. We decided on meeting in Leavenworth within a certain timeframe in which they'd be there. Although 3.5hrs away from home and kinda last-minute, the trip actually turned out to be a wonderful weekend getaway for my husband and I, so we were Happy! Not to mention the pictures = fantastic (Everyone loved them!) The wedding - Kaylee and Drew were ON IT. I mean, they did their thing, knew how to direct us when needed, yet were out of the way. I was concerned about the "elephant in the room" feeling of not having my dad walk down the aisle with me. I wanted to acknowledge the loss respectfully, without overshadowing a day I wanted to be filled with joy. Dale did this with perfect grace. Even before we had the chance to meet Dale, he was very responsive to our initial inquiries. Once we set up our first meeting, Dale mailed us a packet filled with information, ideas for ceremonies, vows, poems. It actually prompted us to sit down and focus better on what we wanted for what was really the most important part of the day. Within minutes of meeting him, we knew Dale was exactly who we wanted and we asked him to officiate on the spot. On the day of the wedding, Dale was prompt, and helped keep us at ease as we got ready. The ceremony flowed beautifully and had our guests laughing and engaged. Just the feel we had hoped for. Afterwards, Dale took care of all the necessary paperwork and we had our certified copies in less than a week.

We were really worried that we wouldn't be able to find an officiant so last-minute, but fortunately, someone recommended Chaplain Dale to us, and we are now SO glad that everything worked out the way that it did. We are so grateful to Dale for stepping in relatively last-minute, and in the end, while it sounded like a great idea at first to have a friend officiate the ceremony, it was ultimately SO nice to have a professional run the show. He had suggestions and options to choose from for each stage of the ceremony, and he allowed us to customize all of it to fit us. He came to the rehearsal and helped us think of some important small details that we otherwise wouldn't have. At the wedding, he helped get guests seated in time and then performed a WONDERFUL ceremony. We got compliments on it all night from guests. Our ceremony was in November so we had an indoor ceremony in the chapel area and loved the reception area. We had such a beautiful ceremony! The bridal suite was perfect and had plenty of room for everyone to get dressed in one area and have hair/makeup done in the other. The grooms room was far enough away to make sure no one peaked until it was time. We also had such beautiful grounds to take pictures in. It was too cold and rainy for an outdoor gazebo ceremony. But the pictures we took there are going to be magical. We didn't really have to do too too much to the venue itself for decorating because there is so much natural charm and beauty to the venue. I also have to mention the exclusive catering company, Wooden Spoon. I was nervous to have them as our only option but we had the most delicious meal and received sooo many compliments. Tyler was able to work within our budget and not make it feel like we compromised at all. They also have an awesome rental room with so many decor pieces that we didn't have to worry about bringing with us or taking out of the space. I know I'm biased but it was the best wedding I've been too!

She told me we'd be going to a park, but instead drove us to a muddy tree farm. Not only was this not to my taste, my younger daughter has a muscular disorder and CAN'T EVEN WALK on uneven ground. She kept falling down and was hysterical most of the time. At one point Jerrah said to her in a sing-songy voice, "oh, come on now, you can get up, it's so easy!" WHO SAYS THAT TO A DISABLED CHILD??? My younger daughter's hysterical, my older daughter's distraught that her beloved little sister is upset, I'm stressed, pissed off AND wearing high heels in the middle of a farm field and we're rushed through the entire shoot She mentioned the lighting would be really good in about 15 minutes (the "golden light" that's so pretty), then said she didn't want to wait that long and had to get home. She only took about 30 shots total, most of which were us seated on a filthy blanket in a dirty field. Owing to all this, our pictures were absolutely terrible and a compete waste of $350.
