    Bixby + Pine is a dream team! We had a covid wedding that was postponed so ended up working with these gals for 2 years. From our first initial meeting even to months after our big day, this team has been there for us. Being a bride can be a really stressful experience but I luckily found that stress to be minimal thanks to this team. Our initial design meeting was like they literally plucked my ideas out of my head and put them on paper. When we had to postpone due to covid, they reached out to every vendor on our behalf and handled everything while finding us the perfect new date and negotiated so we lost no desposit or vendors. The execution was on another level. Our wedding was literally our dream come true. I'm a planner/control freak by nature so having to hand over the reins for our big day was a bit nerve wracking and it's hard to remember that you're just 1 client of many but no matter what, they got back to me and nothing fell through the cracks. Ashley also did flowers for our wedding and they could not have been more beautiful. I don't think I'll ever get over them lol. Everyone who attended our wedding was SO impressed with all the small details that were so thoughtfully executed. If you want to work with a group of amazing women who have a great eye for design, know what they are doing and execute flawlessly, this is your wedding planner!

There is also more gravel rather than lawn, which limits the usable space of the "backyard". The water views are still lovely and the bushes, flowers, shrubbery nice and well-maintained. Years ago, we were unable to use our own caterers without a lot of negotiation, additional costs and proof of insurance, not to mention covering the costs of the caterers transportation (which we offered to do). The staff over a decade ago felt impersonal and stand-offish, unfriendly and not wishing to be bothered by confirming reservations, nor addressing any questions we had in regards to our wedding day and the property. I hope things have gotten better, and that the people one works with now are more communicative, friendly and happy/willing to help.

She charged me almost half what other vendors were charging. Our wedding was on Bainbridge Island and Holly was extremely familiar with all the vendors in the area and all of the vendors that have worked with our venue in the past. She was always ready for recommendations and emailed me consistently throughout the process so we were continuously moving forward with planning. She was such a positive presence to have at our wedding and I especially loved that she told everyone in our bridal party to go to her with questions and allow us to have our special day in peace. I cannot thank Holly enough for how beautifully she set up all the decorations I purchased. I was worried that things would be placed incorrectly or that something would be missing, but Holly captured my vision perfectly and did not miss a beat! After searching and searching I literally was about to give up and just elope, but then I came across Kingston House. We managed to snag the last summer weekend that would work for our schedules and I am so, so happy it worked out. As a wedding venue: The venue was everything I'd hoped for. The property is enormous, lush, and well cared for. There are so many beautiful little areas that each have their own feel. From fields, to a huge pond, to forest, to gardens, you name it. I loved how people could explore and enjoy the day without feeling squeezed into a small space or told they can't roam. It was really important to us that our guests would feel comfortable, and they did! We had a beautiful early summer day so we could go with our Plan A option of having our ceremony in front of the pond and the reception up above. But Matt has some great alternatives that would work if the weather is bad. This was a big anxiety reliever for me because of course the weather here is unpredictable. I knew that even if it rained, we'd have a beautiful spot for both the ceremony and reception. The location: Kingston was a perfect spot for us. We had a lot of people coming from Seattle and Bellingham, and a good group flying in, as well. Kingston is the perfect distance to feel sort of like a destination without actually requiring a huge trip for people. Our guests could drive home if they wanted, or rent a property nearby (there are LOTS of options). And of course, adding a ferry ride is fun! As long as you and your guests know how to plan for it, that is. I was relieved that none of our guests misjudged the timing and everyone made it there when they should. The driving directions were also super easy to follow, so no one got lost. And Matt's team was there to help guide our guests into the property and find the best place to park. The house: I mean, the HOUSE! We stayed Thursday night just the two of us (highly recommend) and then both of our immediate families stayed with us Friday and Saturday nights. There was plenty of room for everyone. But honestly this house was freaking magical. Every square inch was beautiful, styled to perfection, comfortable, and full of history and character. Matt has an excellent eye and has filled the home with interesting and super aesthetic furniture, art, and knick knacks. And then of course it's perfectly stocked and comfortable, and had everything we needed and more. It's such a gift that we can also go back to Kingston House someday since he rents it on Airbnb. We're planning to come back for sure, and hopefully make it a family tradition. Matt: Matt was so great to work with. Responsive and communicative, helpful, and so committed to making your day/weekend perfect. He really knows how to host a wedding and has clearly done this many times. He brought a wonderful level of calm to the weekend and has incredible attention to detail. He puts so much thought and care into the home and property, you can tell he takes pride in it. And he should! We loved working with Matt and look forward to seeing him again someday when we come back. Also he has a very cute dog, bonus points!

The grounds are beautiful, and the staff were great to work with. During the planning session, Matt helped us with ideas and made sure the bride and groom were happy with all the plans. The wedding was scheduled for mid-May and Mother Nature threw us a very last-minute curve ball. Matt and his staff jumped into action to move the ceremony spot to the "In case of rain" location. As the evening went on, it got colder than expected and once again, Matt and crew jumped into action to get the heaters up and running without the guests ever noticing. Everyone had a great time. The wedding party had a gorgeous and comfortable place to stay for two nights. We could not have asked for anything more. We highly recommend Kingston House!!

She made sure our wedding day was flawless and--dare I say-- enjoyable and stress-free! She was assertive, confident, and one of the most genuinely enjoyable people you'll ever meet. From day one, she made us relax and ENJOY the process of planning. She gave us a curated list of wonderful vendors to match our style--in every area, from venue to catering to photographer--everything. We could NOT have imagined an easier planning process nor a more perfect day. We had the pleasure of working with New Creations Wedding/Rebecca Grant for not one, but TWO of our weddings. We had initially planned our wedding overseas but had to cancel the wedding due to COVID in 2020. I reached out to a dozen wedding planners in the local area, with no luck finding someone who could help us plan a COVID-friendly wedding. Rebecca, however, quickly accepted the task. Unfortunately, that plan also changed when further COVID restrictions limited the number of guests. We decided to book Rebecca to plan our beautiful elopement on Whidbey Island and had her marry us. She even managed to tell the weather to give us a gorgeous day in October!!! One year later, and with a baby on the way, we decided it might be a good idea to try to have a wedding celebration - FINALLY. We had zero ideas of what we wanted but knew we needed Rebecca to take over all details because our focus was planning for the baby. Rebecca made sure we got as many decisions out of the way as possible early on to have a wedding-free postpartum period. When it came closer to the wedding, this is where I witnessed her magic in finalizing every detail, communicating clearly with every vendor, and making the wedding finally happen. Additionally, she gracefully managed our guest count, which went from 100-130 to 175. I barely had time to spend a minute of my mind-space on the wedding because of our new family and often questioned myself, "why was I planning a wedding?" but man, did Rebecca deliver the most stunning, chic, and fun party. The circumstances around our wedding experience were not common, planning a wedding while trying to raise a new baby, but I would not hesitate to hire Rebecca again. There are so many details about a wedding that you don't even think about until you are in it, when you realize, "I'm so happy I hired Rebecca to take care of this." Rebecca is someone you can trust to get the work done; you will be wowed by what she delivers.

From the beginning Megan has been one of the most reassuring and comforting things about wedding planning. If not the only thing at times. Megan paid for herself at our very first meeting with our location and catering vendor. She saw something in the signed contract that entailed us to a better food package. Not just better food selections but more of it. When the vendor said it was a typo and they would fix it she said 'nope this is the contract that you had them sign. Typo or not you need to stick to this, they are entitled to this food at this price.' At that point in wedding planning i was so beyond exhausted i absolutely would have just rolled over and let the vendor adjust the signed contract. She stuck to her guns and we got the benefit of it. Woo Hoo We have the Week of Package, which really means that she takes over several weeks out. Following up with our vendors and asking me questions about details I never would have considered. Megan as been available for all of the silly questions and concerns that we have had and is prompt in her email response. She is able to offer suggestions on everything, babysitters in the area, vendors, when to do things, how to include family wishes along side our own, how to get Dicks Cheese Burgers to your wedding reception and everything in between. Megan is so friendly and easy to work with, she is prompt and organized. You just want to be her friend. I can not imagine getting through this wedding process without her, and its not even over yet. Wedding Planning Advice Number One - Get yourself a planner Number Two - Get Megan Keller MORE GOOD THINGS TO COME So, the wedding has happened. It was all smooth and amazing. Megan made everything work. As I was standing in my dress with my flowers about to walk down the isle I turned to my mom and said 'how would we have done this without Megan?' She said 'We wouldn't!' She was so right! Megan did so many things that made all the difference that I didn't know about. She was the first one there and the last one out. She loaded gifts and flowers and all kinds of things into car at the end of the evening. I can't not imagine that this day would have worked without her and we are so glad that we had her along for the ride!

I started my quest to plan my own wedding in early 2010 and realized that, being an anxiety-prone control freak, I should probably seek some assistance. I found Megan Keller & A Kurant Event while link surfing through a wedding website. I immediately checked her out on Yelp, loved the reviews, and promptly set up a meeting. Loved this woman right away! She was so friendly, listened to me carefully, took notes, and proceeded to explain how she could help me, what my options were, and the prices. I loved it! Get straight to the point, and let's do this thing! Needless to say, I hired Megan and she worked with me step-by-step to put together a wedding and reception that exceeded my husband's and my dreams. All the while, keeping us on schedule and on track. The day of, especially, was so stress free - she took care of everything and I was able to fully enjoy the best day of my life. I highly recommend hiring Megan for your wedding planning needs, especially for the day-of, if not the whole shebang - she's totally worth it!
