From the beginning Megan has been one of the most reassuring and comforting things about wedding planning. If not the only thing at times. Megan paid for herself at our very first meeting with our location and catering vendor. She saw something in the signed contract that entailed us to a better food package. Not just better food selections but more of it. When the vendor said it was a typo and they would fix it she said 'nope this is the contract that you had them sign. Typo or not you need to stick to this, they are entitled to this food at this price.' At that point in wedding planning i was so beyond exhausted i absolutely would have just rolled over and let the vendor adjust the signed contract. She stuck to her guns and we got the benefit of it. Woo Hoo We have the Week of Package, which really means that she takes over several weeks out. Following up with our vendors and asking me questions about details I never would have considered. Megan as been available for all of the silly questions and concerns that we have had and is prompt in her email response. She is able to offer suggestions on everything, babysitters in the area, vendors, when to do things, how to include family wishes along side our own, how to get Dicks Cheese Burgers to your wedding reception and everything in between. Megan is so friendly and easy to work with, she is prompt and organized. You just want to be her friend. I can not imagine getting through this wedding process without her, and its not even over yet. Megan made everything work. As I was standing in my dress with my flowers about to walk down the isle I turned to my mom and said 'how would we have done this without Megan?' She said 'We wouldn't!' She was so right! Megan did so many things that made all the difference that I didn't know about. She was the first one there and the last one out. She loaded gifts and flowers and all kinds of things into car at the end of the evening. We just got married, and Megan did a wonderful job of attending to the details of our wedding. I hired Megan because of her broad experience working with large budgets and small budgets alike, and her vast experience in negotiating and attending to the details of event contracts. She exceeded our expectations in these areas from her first day working with us, and helped our wedding go smoothly in some many other ways as well. In all reality, our wedding (a local destination wedding) would have been basically a full working day for me and my family if we hadn't had Megan. But, it isn't just about the day of the wedding. Prior to this, Megan handled details months before, making life for all of us much easier. With our wedding, Megan was tasked with a hard job of working out some sticky contract issues with our first venue, and when those went south, finding us a perfect new venue on the same date, four months from the date of our wedding. She did it, and managed to deal with a sticky situation in the best way possible. Megan is a consummate professional. We hired Megan for day-of services for our 2013 wedding at Hotel 1000. There is a reason she has so many 5 star reviews. Girl is SOLID! And this is coming from a bride that is a full time event planner. She was always quick to respond to an email or call, had great recommendations (not just vendors, but suggestions for the layout and flow of the evening, food and drink, etc. She puts thought into all aspects of the event!) I will never be able to do justice to the amazing-ness that is May Wyatt and Kate Coble. The beginning of our wedding planning was stressful, to say the least...but the first time that we met with Megan (owner) and May about working with them for day-of wedding coordination, my mother, fiance and I all breathed a huge sigh of relief. May was always available to answer planning and etiquette questions and her helpful replies were always so speedy. Having an expert there to help through the planning process took away all the doubt and concern and just allowed us to enjoy being engaged and planning our big day! As the wedding got closer and closer, she even took the vendor contracts off my plate, contacted each of them with their arrival times and supplied us all with a detailed schedule of the wedding day. She thought of everything. May and Kate's help and expertise at the rehearsal and the wedding were priceless. My mom and I have talked about how different the wedding would have been if we didn't have them there and we are just so thrilled that we made the choice to work with A Kurant Event. As a serious control freak and frequent event planner myself, it was a major moment in the wedding planning process when it became clear I needed help. I had planned far too many DIY details and was quickly becoming overwhelmed with the logistics. We hired Megan as our Day-of-coordinator, but she was a major help even in the months prior to the wedding. She checked in frequently to make sure I was maintaining my sanity, and in the weeks leading up the wedding posed logistical questions that I hadn't even considered, gave suggested solutions, vendor recommendations, and helped keep me on task. Our 'getting ready,' ceremony, and reception locations were fairly spread out (Medina, Wallingford, Cap Hill) and Megan and her assistant handled the set-up of each location seamlessly. I have a difficult time delegating, but Megan did a fantastic job taking over right when I needed her to! She managed our many DIY details (making our own bouquets from farmers market flowers, a pie bar, assembling a balloon garland at the park) just to name a few. We hired Megan for her 'day-of' services, which are way more than that. We met with a few coordinators who were a little over the top, which is just not our style. We immediately felt comfortable with Megan - she was relaxed and less intense than the others but answered all our questions and really sounded like she knew her stuff and would be a great match. We were never disappointed in our decision to go with her! Our wedding was towards the end of wedding season and even though Megan had many weddings on her plate she responded to emails immediately and kept all of our vendors informed and in line in the weeks leading up to our big day. She was available in the months before the wedding via email and always provided great information. I just read through a few of the other reviews here and everyone is spot on: Megan is a blast to work with while being completely professional when it's time to be serious. I have no idea if there were any issues on our big day because she and her assistant took care of everything. We booked almost all of our vendors based on her recommendations and they were all top notch. Those few vendors that we booked that she hadn't previously worked with have commented on how easy she was to work with. How to start my immense praise for Megan? My husband and I hired Megan early on in our planning process, about a year beforehand. She was the first wedding planner we met, and the last. She came into the first meeting prepared yet wonderfully personable and friendly. We hired her immediately and throughout 9 months before the wedding, we would meet occasionally to go over some things and start planning. Each time we met I felt like I was going to hang out with my best friend and plan my wedding but with someone way more "in the know" and prepared than my actual best friend. Megan made wedding planning fun which is a hard thing to do when you're trying to appease your husband's incredibly large family. The last three months we saw Megan more often and she made life so incredibly easy, she gave us advice and pep talks throughout the crazy hectic moments that are wedding planning. I just recently got married in January and used Megan and A Kurant Event for my entire planning and day of. What a blessing! Organization and creativity are not my strong points and yet the wedding turned out to be the most amazing event I have ever seen. At a time in your life when emotions are running high, and bills are piling up, this woman is a heaven-sent, solution-oriented, calming presence. I hired Megan as a week/month of coordinator for my wedding in Cle Elum in July, and my only regret is that I didn't just hire her to plan the whole thing altogether. I have to thank the fine people of Yelp for guiding me to Megan and A Kurant Event in the first place--and what better way to do that than by writing a glowing review of my own? Megan is like the mullet of wedding planners--HEAR ME OUT. When dealing with vendors (navigating payment and negotiating potentially awkward interactions like the rare complaints we had to make), paying attention to detail, and generally getting $#*% done, she is all business. A force to be reckoned with. She skillfully handled our thousands of questions with patience and clarity, connecting us with all the right people at all the right times. She took the utterly nonsensical things we said about what we were looking for in a venue or photographer, for example, and translated them into perfect matches. We would have been absolutely lost without her. But let's not forget about the back of the mullet: the party. Not only did Megan help us plan a great party for our guests, with the ideal mix of fancy and fun, but working with her really felt like a party in itself. Because she made us feel so confident in her ability to maintain laser focus and get stuff taken care of, we were able to chill out and enjoy her delightful sense of humor and wit. This made our meetings more fun, yes, but it also served a second purpose: because we were comfy and relaxed, she was able to get to know us more, which helped her come up with even more fun ideas that perfectly suited us, and which we never would have come up with on our own. Our guests said again and again how we shone through at our wedding, which was all we ever wanted. You can tell that she tailors not only the events she plans, but even her approach to the planning process itself, to every couple she works with. While I am very happy with the outcome of the wedding (um, being married to my husband), I am pretty glad that I won't have to go through the process of planning it again. She took my ideas of what I wanted and ran with it..when I ran outta ideas..she was able to give me advice, throw in some of her ideas and was super supportive and thoughtful. Megan is amazing. Period. On October 29th, 2011 she and her team were the backbone of the success of the wedding of the year. Mine. I'm not even kidding. Prince William who? He didn't' have anything compared to us. :) This wasn't my husband and my first rodeo. We had both been married before, and knew we wanted to throw the party of the year. Megan and I first met almost a year and a half before the magical day and it was a match made in heaven! Megan Keller is the bees knees. She was the only wedding planner I interviewed because there was no need to look elsewhere. She is laid back, friendly, easy to work with, and has great ideas to make your vision happen. I worked with her as our day-of coordinator, but that really meant month-of, because at the one month mark I met with her to hand off all the details (vendors, contracts, etc) and she took the reins. She is a really creative person, so early on I asked for a one-hour consultation to help me select rental items, which was so much more than I expected. She met me at Pedersons Showroom and mocked up example table settings, offered her expertise on how much to order, what to order for the other vendors I was working with, and where to save money, and also put together the entire order for me. I am not a very visual person so I had only a vague vision of what everything would look like on the day-of, and was so beyond impressed when I saw how Megan made everything look so beautiful and organized from the dinner tables, to the dessert station, to the guestbook table, etc. And most importantly, Megan made everyone in our wedding party feel at ease. She has a superpower that I can only describe as super-chill-yet-gets-sh**-done, so you always feel relaxed and that you're in good hands. During the entire lead up and execution of, day of "planning" by A Kurant Event was the worst waste of time and money we experienced for our wedding. We were told that benefits of this service was their referral network, check ins and execution day of. We were referred to somewhere for wholesale... that does not sell to the public, therefore we were unable to use them. No other suggestions given. All other referrals were in kind. Inaccessible, not what we were looking for, and a brush off when we asked if they had any connections to better fitting options. Megan bailed and sent an employee for all communications after we were past the time to back out of the contract. This would not have been an issue if we were introduced and it was conveyed upfront, but as it wasn't, it came across as dishonest. Really, the whole thing just seemed like a mess. Her employee seemed to try to make the best of it, but even then it came across as awkward. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND. I can only think they have good reviews from those who purchase the full planning, and that others like me pend on reviews because they want to think of it as a happy day. It was, but absolutely none of that is was due to their involvement. Steer clear. read more

At first I was hesitant to hire a day-of coordinator, as I am not usually one to delegate, but I am so glad to have hired Megan and A Kurant Event for our recent wedding. Megan understood the vibe and energy we wanted to create at both our ceremony and reception, which were at separate venues, and helped to execute it as we imagined. She is organized and poised, and always has a positive attitude that takes stress out of wedding planning. In the weeks leading up to our wedding, Megan and I met a few times, and she was very responsive to emails and questions. She kept an updated timeline and kept vendors in line and handled correspondence with them as needed. She attended our rehearsal and kept things moving efficiently, she was also very helpful in transporting much of our reception decor to the reception venue. On our big day, she was on-time, and energetic, yet even-keeled. There were a few instances where she had to make quick decisions (oops - I had forgotten to order champagne flutes w/ the catering order!) and she acted appropriately and used sound judgment that was consistent with what we would have chosen. I was overjoyed and truly impressed when I saw the reception venue had been set-up exactly as I'd imagined, without having been there myself to provide direction. Megan stayed until the very end and made sure everything was loaded into vehicles and vendors had cleaned up. Megan and her team were great to work with, and allowed us to really relax and enjoy the entire wedding weekend. I knew it was coming soon but was not prepared for what was about to be the most amazing night of my life...so far. My girlfriends had "planned" a girls-night-out to celebrate Christmas but what acutally had happened is Jayson worked with Megan to orchestrate the whole night. From the girls-only cocktail hour to the secret admirer paying for our drinks (Jayson) to the magician who I thought was just an old college friend of one of my girlfriends to the jingle bells on pink ribbon to Jayson on one knee asking me to be his wife, the entire night was perfect and flawless. I have been meaning to write this review for years, but I never felt I could do it justice. Megan is truly a miracle worker. Because of her, we were able to have a wonderful last-minute wedding celebration that my terminally ill mother, who had at that time recently barely survived emergency surgery, could be a part of. Knowledgeable, professional, compassionate, funny, magically stress-relieving, positive -- and of course, stylish -- Megan helped us plan our last-minute Seattle wedding long distance, dealing with, among other things, an unexpectedly-pregnant-and-sick-to-the-point-of-hospitalization LA bride-to-be who could not even get out of bed without puking (much less even think about menus or look at a computer screen). It was all done in about a month, all via phone, e-mail, and friends standing in for me for things like venue visits. We had found A Kurant Event through the company's website and liked the engaging blog. After one phone conversation with Megan, I felt comfortable with her. It was a huge relief, given everything we were going through, to find someone we could trust. She is extremely patient and nonjudgmental, as well as very calming. I wish I could remember the name of her assistant, because she was equally fantastic the day of our event. Megan has relationships with many venues and vendors, and she seems to be able to effortlessly determine what will fit your personality and particular needs. No detail that saw to my mother's comfort (event flexibility, wheelchair/walker accessibility, a "resting" room, immunocompromised-person-friendly decor and food) or my comfort was overlooked. She wrote schedules, confirmed vendors, reviewed contracts, attended our rehearsal and generally made sure everything was running smoothly, waaay beyond our expectation of a day of planner. We hired Megan to coordinate our wedding weekend and it was the best decision we made about our wedding. We went with all the bells and whistles on her full-service package and the amount of stress and time it saved us was invaluable. From the beginning, she helped us manage our budget expectations, helped us book vendors, researched venues for our THREE wedding events (dinner, wedding, brunch), and kept everything on track and sailing smooth the entire time. She really showed her worth the week of the wedding, coordinating last minute changes, making sure our vendors stayed up to date, putting out a few unexpected fires (which I'm sure are common in every wedding) and making sure my fiance and I were feeling at ease and stress free all the while. On the day of the events, she and Kate were a Godsend. She kept our parents out of our hair, our vendors in line, and our expectations manage/met.
