This is a cool little museum in a cool little town. It's a little on the smaller side, but it's got…read moresome cool history about the original founders. Upon walking to the entrance, you're greeted by a large anchor, a big motor and an amazing view of the water. A perfect place to snap some photos or just sit and take in the scenery. Entrance is pretty cheap: $4 for adults and $3 for children, seniors and students. Not too bad for a short educational experience, but be warned: It's cash only! Inside you'll see original pieces of the town and duplicated setups of the area's most popular spots like the hotel, ships, bedrooms, and more. They have signs at each spot for you to read and understand what you're looking at. I'd recommend checking it out if you've walked around the rest of Port Gamble. It just gives you a little bit more insight and sort of pieces everything together for you. The lady at the counter was great about providing some additional information if you needed any elaborations and even told us that they do paranormal tours during Halloween. More of a reason to come back, even though she hasn't experienced any hauntings herself. After the tour, they have a gift shop upstairs as well as a cafe. Just gives you another opportunity to fuel up and take in some of the sights. We came during a rainy day and the views were still great. When the sun is shining, I'm sure they are even better! Parking is a cinch. Plenty of free parking all over the area.

The owner even offered me a blanket if we needed for baby to sit on the grass or to use while she napped. I was happy to learn about the different types of lavender and have guidance so I could pick what types I'd like. I also ordered a lavender lemonade and the flavor was so perfect. They sell the syrup but the owner also was willing to give the recipe so that I could use the culinary lavender I picked to make my own if I'd like too. Going to the farm was one of the sweetest memories I've had all summer and I look forward to returning during the next season!

Before starting the activity, the owner, Stephanie, explained the different types of lavender they grow, their uses, and scent profiles. Then, I had to pick SO. MUCH. LAVENDER. to make the 12" wreath - it's incredible. They are planning to offer even more activities next year (like essential oil distilling), so I will definitely be back!

I would not recommend renting it for any purpose, especially if you are queer. My partner and I just rented the garden last weekend for our joint birthday party and relationship celebration. We booked the garden a year in advance and clearly told the staff member who helped us about our party and why we were celebrating. On the day of the event, at the very end of the celebration, the manager briskly strode up to me and, clearly upset, said to me, "So you're the bride huh?" I am a trans nonbinary person who has has top surgery and I do not appear feminine. I was confused why she was forcibly gendering me and insisting on calling me a bride and imagined she must not understand our event if she thought we were getting married. I answer with an unsure, "I guess you could call me that." She said, "I need to see you in the office," then turned and walked away. I found my partner and we went to the office. She remained visibly upset and launched into a lecture in which she explained to us that people spend much more money to get married at the gardens and that we should have paid more since we were having a wedding. We assured her we in fact did not get married and had been completely up front with the staff member we worked with about our plans. She continued to be suspicious and angry, answering that she had overheard one of our guests calling the event a wedding. We assured her again that we were celebrating both of us turning 40 and our relationship, not having a wedding, but that some of our friends had been joking it was our "not wedding." We suggested that staff member may need to be more clear in the future if relationship celebrations are not allowed. She responded that the staff member had since left and had recorded our event as, she said this smirking and making meaningful eye contact with us, "a birthday party." It was clear that she didn't believe us and was going to continue with her assumption that we were actively trying to lie to her and her staff. We left the office shaken with a terrible memory after a celebration we had spent the last year planning to create loving memories. While I understand that she may have been confused, she could have approached us with any amount of curiosity or grace. This was a confusion caused by a garden staff member recording our party in a way she didn't understand. I would expect to be treated better by anyone, but it was especially sad to be so poorly treated by someone we were paying to use their space on a special occasion. She had no qualms infusing the meaningful day with anger, conflict, suspicion, and bias right at the finishing moment. Manager, whoever you are, you didn't even take time to introduce yourself before laying into us, if you get to read this, I hope you can understand what a lasting impact your behavior had on our day. You work in the event industry, I hope your communication can increase enough for that to keep being a good idea for the people you will serve in the future.

I really appreciate how intentional this arboretum felt, it's easy to tell how the community and volunteers are intentional about its upkeep and serenity. What a great find! U-Pick blueberries and Dahlias…read more I brought my daughter here today so we could have some Mother/Daughter time and she has a blast. There are rows and rows of blueberry bushes to pick from and they also have a section where you can cut your own Dahlias. The place is on MADISON Ave. NE. It's clean, and the people there are uber friendly and remember you. They have little silver buckets they line with plastic bag and take you to the fields to show you where the best berries right now are located then they let you loose. You can also use an knee pad or little stools while picking. They have 4 varieties of berries, but not all are ripe at the same time. YES, you need to go here!! They would love to have a mob of people so, let's support another of our local farmers and go get berries! They provide the buckets!!!

On our little day trip to Port Gamble, I had encountered many places that I was just too scared to…read morego into. I admit, I'm not use to that kind of town (as pretty as it may be). Of Sea & Shore was located in the general store that they have there. The actual store was packed but we were the only two who checked out the museum at the time. Needless to say, it was pretty interesting! Probably one of the highlights of the trip. They have a nice collection of a large variety of sea animals (which I have an interest in. They just look so much like aliens!) And they give you the explanation of most of the creatures there, so you'll definitely learn something! I really suggest anyone who goes over to Port Gamble to check this museum out. Especially anyone with children! It's a great experience and who can argue with the price being free?!

About an hour and a half from where we all live, and one of us from San Diego. We visit every High tea house we can where ever we travel, even local ones in Seattle and surrounding. Out of the country, etc...But we never heard of Dahlia Cove. Only reason why I found this place was because of Yelp. All four of us were pleasantly surprised. You first walk in and they had an array of cute items for purchase. Of course I had to get a teapot necklace. It's a family owned business. The owner and her family were great hostess. Not to mention the food was wonderfully delicious. And we've been to some pretty nice afternoon tea places. This one was one of our faves. It's quite a drive, so it would have to be for special occasions. I would totally take my family here. I know my husband would even enjoy it. The decor was fun. We all loved it. Place was also clean. With some many businesses including tea places closing we hope this place thrives, and stay busy. Until we meet again.
