    King size bed layout.

At first, reading some of the other reviews had me a little worried about this place. But, I quickly realized that most of the disgruntled reviews were from people trying to party in the wrong part of the hotel. Anyways, back to the hotel. Upon checking in, I was greeted by a very friendly front desk clerk. She was very nice and explained all the hotel amenities along with any applicable hours of operations for casino bars and food spots. The hotel itself looked and smelled new. It had a nice flow to its layout and seemed well built. Upon entering my room, I was surprised by the cleanliness and quality of the room. The room had ample space and had a very welcoming feel to it. The linens on the bed were soft and the bed itself was very comfortable. Actually, the room chair and lounger were also very comfortable. The flat screen TV was very nice and had pretty good picture quality. I was pleasantly surprised by a mini fridge under the TV to keep my drinks cool. The bathroom itself was also very nice and well built. The towels were adequate for hotel towels, nothing special here. What I did think was great was the rain style shower. The only thing I thought that was out of place during my entire stay was the coffee brewer. It's kept in the bathroom, about 7 feet from the toilet. It seems wrong in my head, but maybe it's just me. Overall this is a great place to stay, especially for the price.

This is a beautiful hotel close to Poulsbo, WA. Classy and modern and very clean. Happy with the size of the bathroom and it has a great rainfall shower head. We will try the restaurant tomorrow as the food looked amazing as we walked by. Casino is close by and they had lots of fun machines. Definitely would stay here again

Upon checking into the Kingston area for places to visit, this one popped up in my search, another hidden secret, none of my Washington native coworkers seemed to know. Well, being the plant nerd I am, it was quickly placed first on my list of adventures in the Kingston area. Beautiful entrance, not easily seen if you're flying by. Lots of hidden treasures throughout, plants and additional ornaments ( like the old dump truck or piano) some of the gardens, especially around the old homestead are well developed, but there are quite a few newer additions and more being developed. Staff was very helpful and knowledgeable, Norma Jean was great! Not only with the history and plants of the gardens, but other places to check out in the area as well. The Port Gamble S' Klallam tribe purchases the gardens in 2012 and with the assistance of one of the originators, Dan Hinkley, it has been restored, rejuvenated, and additional gardens are growing. It's worth multiple visits during the year as the many rare plants go through blooming seasons and the colors of new growth and flowers change. They also cultivate a nursery of quite a few of the rare and unusual plants, definitely there will be some purchasing in future visits. This garden is easily walkable and not large, well worth the ten dollar ticket. Enjoyable for anyone who loves nature and being outdoors. It alone was worth the ferry ride over to Kingston. Enjoying the beautiful weather and flowers. Happy Yelping!

On the first day it was legal, we and a half-dozen other couples were hosted by the S'kallam tribe, who went all out for us, and covered all the costs. What a gift to the local LGBT community! Burpee bought out the original nursery many years ago, and it went downhill for a while, but since it was sold to the S'Kallam tribe, they've restored it to its former glory, and even hired the original founder (well-famed Dan Hinkley) to help maintain, restore, and manage it with a group of volunteers. Dan once again travels in search of unusual plants ideal for temperate gardens. This is worth visiting just for its park value, and definitely worth a special trip even from far off, though always make sure of the hours before setting out; they keep limited public hours (generally Fridays 10 am to 3 pm, but sometimes other days and longer hours depending on events and special sales and such). The plant collection is unique; the park areas and buildings can be rented for weddings and private events; and the nursery arranges all sorts of seasonal public events worth attending. Take their tour, it's incredibly informative in addition to simply beautiful.

There is also more gravel rather than lawn, which limits the usable space of the "backyard". The water views are still lovely and the bushes, flowers, shrubbery nice and well-maintained. Years ago, we were unable to use our own caterers without a lot of negotiation, additional costs and proof of insurance, not to mention covering the costs of the caterers transportation (which we offered to do). The staff over a decade ago felt impersonal and stand-offish, unfriendly and not wishing to be bothered by confirming reservations, nor addressing any questions we had in regards to our wedding day and the property. I hope things have gotten better, and that the people one works with now are more communicative, friendly and happy/willing to help.

Very easy to book and contract with. Never a problem. Very attentive staff from the Sales Manager, Ms. Shelby Nelson, to the hospitality folks who set up, greet my team, put all the food and beverages out, and tear down. Absolutely top notch! One of my favorite things in life to do is eat. I'm the person who generally works to get the contract solidified between my organization and the catering service. Therefore, I get to choose from an awesome array of things to eat for our visit. We have breakfast and lunch catered for our retreats, and usually choose to eat dinner in the Bistro. Check out my Yelp review of the Bistro! We are always provided very tasty and fresh food. As I write this review, in the moment, I'm reminiscing about the pesto quarter chicken, dinner rolls, salad bar and nacho bar we had for lunch during one of our retreats there! After searching and searching I literally was about to give up and just elope, but then I came across Kingston House. We managed to snag the last summer weekend that would work for our schedules and I am so, so happy it worked out. As a wedding venue: The venue was everything I'd hoped for. The property is enormous, lush, and well cared for. There are so many beautiful little areas that each have their own feel. From fields, to a huge pond, to forest, to gardens, you name it. I loved how people could explore and enjoy the day without feeling squeezed into a small space or told they can't roam. It was really important to us that our guests would feel comfortable, and they did! We had a beautiful early summer day so we could go with our Plan A option of having our ceremony in front of the pond and the reception up above. But Matt has some great alternatives that would work if the weather is bad. This was a big anxiety reliever for me because of course the weather here is unpredictable. I knew that even if it rained, we'd have a beautiful spot for both the ceremony and reception. The location: Kingston was a perfect spot for us. We had a lot of people coming from Seattle and Bellingham, and a good group flying in, as well. Kingston is the perfect distance to feel sort of like a destination without actually requiring a huge trip for people. Our guests could drive home if they wanted, or rent a property nearby (there are LOTS of options). And of course, adding a ferry ride is fun! As long as you and your guests know how to plan for it, that is. I was relieved that none of our guests misjudged the timing and everyone made it there when they should. The driving directions were also super easy to follow, so no one got lost. And Matt's team was there to help guide our guests into the property and find the best place to park. The house: I mean, the HOUSE! We stayed Thursday night just the two of us (highly recommend) and then both of our immediate families stayed with us Friday and Saturday nights. There was plenty of room for everyone. But honestly this house was freaking magical. Every square inch was beautiful, styled to perfection, comfortable, and full of history and character. Matt has an excellent eye and has filled the home with interesting and super aesthetic furniture, art, and knick knacks. And then of course it's perfectly stocked and comfortable, and had everything we needed and more. It's such a gift that we can also go back to Kingston House someday since he rents it on Airbnb. We're planning to come back for sure, and hopefully make it a family tradition. Matt: Matt was so great to work with. Responsive and communicative, helpful, and so committed to making your day/weekend perfect. He really knows how to host a wedding and has clearly done this many times. He brought a wonderful level of calm to the weekend and has incredible attention to detail. He puts so much thought and care into the home and property, you can tell he takes pride in it. And he should! We loved working with Matt and look forward to seeing him again someday when we come back. Also he has a very cute dog, bonus points!

As the evening went on, it got colder than expected and once again, Matt and crew jumped into action to get the heaters up and running without the guests ever noticing. Everyone had a great time. The wedding party had a gorgeous and comfortable place to stay for two nights. We could not have asked for anything more. We highly recommend Kingston House!!
