In our planning stages, Ted was thorough, asked several great questions, accommodated a few requests we had without question, and was reassuring that we were approaching our day the right way, but he also wasn't afraid to offer suggestions that broke with what we initially envisioned, and his suggestions were indeed the correct ones, but he kept his suggestions within our vision, which requires a level of detail orientation that we were quite impressed with. We truly believe he cared about our big night going well, almost as much as we did. At the event, Ted was punctual and ready to roll when people started showing up, checked in with not just me and my wife, but several of our family members and friends, and made sure everyone was having a good time. Ted's charismatic, agreeable, funny, and really cares about his craft. I don't think I have a single complaint. I know for a fact that Ted has a stellar supporting cast behind him too, whom I don't want to go without mention. Hugh touched base the week of the wedding and we went over all the details in the form. I made most of my own playlists and had specific artists I wanted to hear, and Hugh delivered on all of it. The ceremony music played without a hitch, the cocktail hour/dinner music was exactly me and my husband's taste, and he played songs from my playlist for dancing without straying from what I chose. Everyone at our wedding was dancing and having a great time. On top of all of it, Hugh was great at communicating with the other vendors to make sure everything went according to plan. We received more guest comments about how great the DJ was than any other aspect of our wedding. In the planning process he was relaxed and prepared, needed very little of us, but was also willing to take whatever instruction we asked for, and was a calming, confident presence on our wedding day. We hit him with a somewhat last minute, very strange request to sample lines from our favorite SNL skit and work them into the dancefloor music, assuming he would think we were crazy, but he enthusiastically had the audio pulled within days and went above and beyond mixing a custom song for us with the SNL audio. A week before the wedding we asked for a disco ball and he found a way to borrow one at no extra cost to us. He was also a wonderful MC, which was a more significant element of the day than we anticipated. He was so active on the day of, constantly monitoring volume levels, crowd mood and reaction, etc., adjusting volume of the mic on my groom for when he was speaking versus when I was speaking a few feet away from the mic - it was all flawlessly executed.
