Leading up to the day…read morehe was very professional, our zoom meeting and phone calls were all standard and helpful. The day of the wedding he completely changed his attitude. While my husband and father-in-law were waiting with him to walk down the aisle, right before the ceremony, David told them he hates weddings. He later clarified it was due to the heat, but it was an inappropriate comment to make right before our ceremony. During the ceremony he forget the ring exchange and I had to remind him mid-ceremony, right before our kiss, to do the rings. The worst part happened after all of this. Despite his attitude and mistake during the ceremony, he had the audacity to "rate our kiss" and told us and the audience he "expected better". This made my husband and I extremely uncomfortable and he ruined the end of what was supposed to be a beautiful, short and simple ceremony. At the end of the day we are happy and married, but looking back my ceremony kiss will always be my least favorite memory of the day, which is pretty depressing. If you want a nice ceremony DO NOT go with this officiant.

I was concerned about the "elephant in the room" feeling of not having my dad walk down the aisle with me. I wanted to acknowledge the loss respectfully, without overshadowing a day I wanted to be filled with joy. Dale did this with perfect grace. Even before we had the chance to meet Dale, he was very responsive to our initial inquiries. Once we set up our first meeting, Dale mailed us a packet filled with information, ideas for ceremonies, vows, poems. It actually prompted us to sit down and focus better on what we wanted for what was really the most important part of the day. Within minutes of meeting him, we knew Dale was exactly who we wanted and we asked him to officiate on the spot. On the day of the wedding, Dale was prompt, and helped keep us at ease as we got ready. The ceremony flowed beautifully and had our guests laughing and engaged. Just the feel we had hoped for. Afterwards, Dale took care of all the necessary paperwork and we had our certified copies in less than a week.

My now-husband, Jonathan, and I originally intended to have a friend officiate our wedding, but…read morethings fell through with that plan roughly a month before the wedding date. We were really worried that we wouldn't be able to find an officiant so last-minute, but fortunately, someone recommended Chaplain Dale to us, and we are now SO glad that everything worked out the way that it did. We are so grateful to Dale for stepping in relatively last-minute, and in the end, while it sounded like a great idea at first to have a friend officiate the ceremony, it was ultimately SO nice to have a professional run the show. He had suggestions and options to choose from for each stage of the ceremony, and he allowed us to customize all of it to fit us. He came to the rehearsal and helped us think of some important small details that we otherwise wouldn't have. At the wedding, he helped get guests seated in time and then performed a WONDERFUL ceremony. We got compliments on it all night from guests. He was easy to work with, polite, professional, respectful, happy to help everything fit us and our relationship, and made the ceremony feel personal. Strongly recommend him to anyone looking for an officiant!

She confirmed that she still creates these bears. We arranged for the clothing to be sent to her, and she confirmed receipt in December. She estimated a three-week turnaround time, and by the end of January, I reached out to check on the project's progress. She promptly responded, stating that she would complete the project by the end of the week. Two weeks later, I checked back for an update, but she had not responded. I have since reached out to her twice more without receiving a response. Now I feel like we may never be getting these bears or getting the clothes back of our loved one. The clothes came from the other side of the world (Southeast Asia) and is impossible to replace.

That being said, I do feel it's important to share my experience, so that other brides can hire a different wedding coordinator that will provide a more positive experience. After my initial call with Amanda, I looked forward to working with her. Shortly afterwards however, she became unresponsive for weeks despite repeated communication attempts. Eventually, Amanda apologized for not responding and offered to provide a complimentary floral preservation service, encasing my wedding flowers in resin, as a gesture of goodwill. I thought this was great and felt like she had handled the situation very well. Fast forward to the day of the wedding, there were a number of things she promised to do, but either forgot to do or did wrong (i.e. gave the boutonierres to the wrong people, did not bring the microphone speaker for our officiant, etc.). These were minor errors though, so I did not think much of it and let it go. The concerning issue is that Amanda took my wedding flowers three months ago and never returned them. I have reached out to her multiple times. She initially responded saying she would bring the preserved flowers to me on a particular day, but that day came and went. She never showed up, ignored multiple follow-up attempts, and has stopped responding altogether. I think it goes without saying that losing my wedding flowers is extremely upsetting, as they carried tremendous sentimental value. I want to stress that my husband and I have been kind, patient, and understanding throughout this process. I know people go through tough times, but it takes two minutes to text a client and be honest about the status of an order. Amanda--if you read this, I sincerely hope you are doing well. If you respond, please do not share excuses, but rather just let me know if or when I will ever receive my floral preservation.
