The natural conversation turned to clothing, and Larry really was great. I had never heard of the Calder Caramel shirts and he spent time to educate me about the best colors for my skin type, the brand, etc. The shirts are not cheap, but neither am I, but still I decided to wait. He was not only accepting of that, but almost encouraging of it. But after leaving I turned around and went back in to buy the shirt. He had just closed the store, but opened the door and let me in to buy the shirt. He repeated if I have any troubles with it then do not hesitate to return it. I love the shirt, the service this store offers, and mostly the genuine and personable nature of these good folks. I will be back for more!

Larry is the best asset of this business with almost 5 decades to his credit at the same location (46yrs to be exact) I've been shopping here for some of the momentous occasions in my life and the outfits, tailoring and quality are impressive. Currently I'm getting a wedding suit made through them (with a Co. in Montreal, CN) and it's been exciting. A must call on Larry !

D Haberdashery was one shop I am pretty sure I haven't set foot into until recently. There is a great eclectic variety of vintage clothing here and other types of merchandise. Mainly dust collectors really but very intriguing all the same. The real human skull in the display window definitely grabs passersby's attention as you go past on the sidewalk. Not sure if that's for sale since it wasn't something I really wanted despite having a taste towards the macabre. Maybe "too real" I guess. But this shop is definitely worth diving into and checking out. Chances are very good here you may have something you'd want to purchase.

This is a gem--fair pricing for fair value items. You can find legitimate, affordable vintage pieces without breaking the bank. We just finished hockey and wanted to hit up some local thrift, vintage, shops. So when we arrived, they were closed. We walked to a nearby thrift store then came back. We were immediately intrigued by the stores ambiance. It was set up really cute, total vintage, and clean. Many things caught our eyes, and we scattered all giddy, but the elder behind the counter kept staring at us, NONE STOP. Like we were stealing from her. Which made it awkward. So we didn't stay long. Then she got very flustered, that I wanted to pay 1/2 cash, 1/2 card. I stood there quietly. To the point I was like, just keep the clothes. It's ok, but we really liked what we were buying. Many things are over priced, as many "vintage" stores are. (Ex. A "very" used pair of Converse Chucks were $45). You gotta really shop for the diamond in the rough, but it's absolutely worth it. They had a nice selection of attire, we would've purchased more. However, not finding much clothing under $40, and I was shopping with two teenagers. It was a tad outta our price range.

It'd be tough to improve on anything at Pure. There are people who get in the business of hawking vintage stuff because it's trendy or a quick buck, and then there are people who know the business deeply because they love it. Jordan is firmly in the latter camp; her little shop on "I" St. (across from Tacoma Little Theatre) was her family shop for ages, and the newer, more expansive one (attached to Kings Books) allows plenty of room to roam. (It also feels really clean, unlike some vintage stores I've browsed.) With different stuff in the store vs. at the year-round weekly market vs. in the Etsy shop, you can have a whole lot of fun browsing here. And when you find the winners for you, it won't break the bank to hug them all up (Tiny Toons/Elmira-style) and bring them home with you. Enjoy!

I y=usually am more apt to find something to my liking at a regular Nordstrom's but I wouldn't quite count myself as a regular shopper there either. By and large it's more of a preference thing really more than anything else. While I do love acquiring clothes...and from an observer's point of view that may look like I am not picky at all with what I get I actually am more picky than it would look. So that really has nothing to do with quality of product of service really. Just preference. Moving away from preference however is the parking to get to the cluster of stores where this store is at. It's often a tight squeeze and and very congested to navigate through here. Other driver's get mixed up at the Stop signs or simply don't care and one can risk a collision. That's why if I go to this sector of stores I park over in the main mall parking lot and get in and out from the main mall routes rather than navigating through all the pedestrians and cars. So if there is anything that causes actual frustration it's that.
