The natural conversation turned to clothing, and Larry really was great. I had never heard of the Calder Caramel shirts and he spent time to educate me about the best colors for my skin type, the brand, etc. The shirts are not cheap, but neither am I, but still I decided to wait. He was not only accepting of that, but almost encouraging of it. But after leaving I turned around and went back in to buy the shirt. He had just closed the store, but opened the door and let me in to buy the shirt. He repeated if I have any troubles with it then do not hesitate to return it. I love the shirt, the service this store offers, and mostly the genuine and personable nature of these good folks. I will be back for more!

Larry is the best asset of this business with almost 5 decades to his credit at the same location (46yrs to be exact) I've been shopping here for some of the momentous occasions in my life and the outfits, tailoring and quality are impressive. Currently I'm getting a wedding suit made through them (with a Co. in Montreal, CN) and it's been exciting. A must call on Larry !

Wow, wow, WOW! My daughter and I stumbled into this delightful shop this afternoon. We were blown…read moreaway by the quality, and quantity of the items here! You can tell the owners take great pride in the selection and material they sell here! Everything is TRULY vintage. Priced high? Yes, a bit, but they aren't selling cheap reproductions! The items on sale here are NOT coming back! I will go back to this place again and again...and although My first reaction after shopping here is to NOT share with anyone and to keep this blessed establishment to myself...I feel that everyone should know about this place! Thank you so much for taking such pride in your business, for taking the time to really sort and price everything with care, and thank you most of all for EXISTING! Ps...I love the JRR Tolkien shirt above the counter! I almost wanted to remove a star for it not being for sale...but I wouldn't sell it either! Muah muah muah

There are definitely some one-of-a-kind pieces that you won't find anywhere else. My only disappointment was the customer service. When I came in, I wasn't made to feel welcome. The staff member looked at me and walked away without checking in or offering any assistance. A friendly greeting would have made the experience much more enjoyable. That said, if you're looking for distinctive vintage finds, it's still worth a visit for the selection alone.

We just finished hockey and wanted to hit up some local thrift, vintage, shops. So when we arrived, they were closed. We walked to a nearby thrift store then came back. We were immediately intrigued by the stores ambiance. It was set up really cute, total vintage, and clean. Many things caught our eyes, and we scattered all giddy, but the elder behind the counter kept staring at us, NONE STOP. Like we were stealing from her. Which made it awkward. So we didn't stay long. Then she got very flustered, that I wanted to pay 1/2 cash, 1/2 card. I stood there quietly. To the point I was like, just keep the clothes. It's ok, but we really liked what we were buying. Many things are over priced, as many "vintage" stores are. (Ex. A "very" used pair of Converse Chucks were $45). You gotta really shop for the diamond in the rough, but it's absolutely worth it. They had a nice selection of attire, we would've purchased more. However, not finding much clothing under $40, and I was shopping with two teenagers. It was a tad outta our price range.

It'd be tough to improve on anything at Pure. There are people who get in the business of hawking vintage stuff because it's trendy or a quick buck, and then there are people who know the business deeply because they love it. Jordan is firmly in the latter camp; her little shop on "I" St. (across from Tacoma Little Theatre) was her family shop for ages, and the newer, more expansive one (attached to Kings Books) allows plenty of room to roam. (It also feels really clean, unlike some vintage stores I've browsed.) With different stuff in the store vs. at the year-round weekly market vs. in the Etsy shop, you can have a whole lot of fun browsing here. And when you find the winners for you, it won't break the bank to hug them all up (Tiny Toons/Elmira-style) and bring them home with you. Enjoy!

This is all mine now. Sorry-not sorry. But Pure has a ton of vintage Pendleton for you to score, too.

The nostalgia selection at Pure is top-notch. And Garfield's sentiment is very much me.
