Staff on 12/4 after 5pm did not even attempt to be welcoming or helpful. I came into the store and said hello and literally neither worker said anything. At first I thought maybe I made a mistake and they worked there because they were trying on clothes. Nope they work there. I was there 20 minutes before two additional customers came in. Seems like the other customers may know the workers or be regulars because they all of a sudden became super chatty. I decided not to buy because I couldn't justify spending the amount I had in my hand with such poor service. Especially as the items required some work. Cool store! I did see quite a few items that, although vintage, had rips/holes/stains. Pricing is that of vintage, not thrift. I got a beautiful leather embossed purse, crochet sweater, and floral overall shorts and my total was about $85. The owner is really sweet and I'm happy to support a small business. I had an awesome experience at my last visit to Scorpio! I regret not asking for their name, but the employee working today (12/31) was so incredibly nice and went above and beyond to help me find a solution to my payment error. I tried using my card to pay, but my bank blocked the transaction due to "suspected fraud". After several attempts, I pulled my cash out and accepted that I'd need to put a few things back on the rack.... BUT!!! The employee was already in communication with her boss and told me that they might be able to make it work (bringing the total down to what I had in cash). Indeed, the boss gave them the go ahead and I was able to pay $94 cash for my total that was initially $113! Thank you so much!! You guys made my entire week! :) read more

I love this vintage thrift store! In fact I love the vintage stores here in the Seattle area and the Pacific Northwest in general. All the magazines, movies and such that pride themselves on items that they got at vintage stores they actually have here in stock! I especially love Scorpio Rising because I could tell immediately that it is an homage to the the Kenneth Anger movie of the same name and that makes me love the store even more. They have a vibe I can highly appreciate! The location here used to be called Retrofit which also was a vintage store. I believe it is owned by the same person but I'm not 100% sure on that. The merchandise here rocks! They have a huge selection of old band t-shirts (Like a Faith No More t-shirt, ooooo!), an impressive flannel shirt inventory and much, much more. Came in to sell 3-4 different occasions & EVERYtime - nothing was taken. They say everything has to be before the 1990's & I've came in w/ older vintage clothes but gotten same results. I honestly get the vibe that they only buy from friends or the same faces that always come in. Easier to say no to strangers right? Also come to find out, the male co-owner of the store always sources through Goodwill Outlets aka the 'Bins' & gets most of their inventory through that method. It's by weight & pretty much a T-Shirt is like 35 cents a pop. I know they're going to simp about giving a "small family owned business" 1 star during Covid but when someone brings better & better stuff to sell everytime then you tell them the SAME line just to basically shew them away - what's expected ? & Also, it was all the same before Covid. Save your time & efforts. Take a trip to U-District & sell to Red Light (appointment based), you'll walk out LEAST $100 from my experiences. read more

Awesome little vintage store with incredible selection of everything from vintage shoes, to cool band tee shirts, to jackets... their selection of fedora's is sure to make you euphoric. I'm a kid of the 80s, and when i was there I nostalgia'd hard on some hypercolor shirts, amongst some other things. Really, there's a little bit of everything, and whats important is that everything seems to be really high quality, which is tough when you're talking about vintage cloth. I've had an okay experience here. I came in with an awesome small vintage sweater that my daughter paid $50 plus for in Portland, and I know it's a 70's or 80's design. I also had a LL Bean sweater, looked vintage, 100% wool. She did not take either item and said her boss said she would "pass". I've sold vintage goods over the years and was really surprised they couldn't give me store credit and trade. I probably will not attempt again. Nothing worse then people turning their nose up to your goods. In all my items are at least worth $100, so I will sell on Ebay. I find some off their items overpriced. read more

This place is AWESOME!! So many good finds for vintage gear all in great shape. The store was well organized and a blast to look through. Talk about taking a walk down memory lane! Lol the owner is super friendly and helpful too. Picked up a really cool vintage Seahawks shirt, Dallas Cowboys shirt and a Washington Huskies hat. The prices are unbeatable! I live in LA and have found similar shirts for $100+ whereas my most expensive piece from Scorpio Rising was $15! Apparently they add roughly 500 pieces a week to their collection so I'm sure it's impossible to walk in without finding something you love. Can't wait to come back and see what's new! read more

Wow, wow, WOW! My daughter and I stumbled into this delightful shop this afternoon. We were blown away by the quality, and quantity of the items here! You can tell the owners take great pride in the selection and material they sell here! Everything is TRULY vintage. Priced high? Yes, a bit, but they aren't selling cheap reproductions! The items on sale here are NOT coming back! I will go back to this place again and again...and although My first reaction after shopping here is to NOT share with anyone and to keep this blessed establishment to myself...I feel that everyone should know about this place! The most thoughtfully curated selection of cool vintage clothing, shoes and accessories in town, by a mile. The owners are very kind people and have a fantastic eye. The pricing is extremely reasonable for the quality of the items. These are, after all, valuable vintage pieces so you may occassionally find something rare with a high dollar sign, but I've never seen anything there that wasn't on-point, pricewise. The tee-shirt selection is especially exciting and rather expansive, and is consistently replenished with fresh finds. There's a little something for most folks who dig vintage wear, but I'd say those in the discerning hip crowd will have no problem finding plenty of proper gear. The service here is also great- they're all very knowlegeable and not pushy but not snobby either, should you need a question answered. Highly recommend a pop-in! read more

Great selection of vintage clothing, would definitely go back if the employee's weren't so rude. The lady with the long reddish-auburn hair and big earrings is a detriment to the store. She is not welcoming and speaks in a sarcastic, rude tone when you ask clarifying questions about the clothing for sale. Thought I would give this place another try since the style is very similar to my own. Unfortunately I have bad experiences with the employees there everytime I visit. Scorpio Rising has the BEST selection of vintage threads in town. What I love about their shop is they handpick each item they bring in and you can tell. So many authentic pieces to choose from and they're constantly bringing in new goods. I understand that this is supposed to be a curated, vintage clothing store (with an emphasis on 60s/70s flair, given the name), but I don't understand the pricing. I got a pretty sweet army jacket for $30, which seemed fair, but I came in specifically looking for t-shirts. They have a huge selection, but the cheapest shirt I found was $13. The tag said it was for a "70s camera store", which is nifty, but it had numerous holes and stains. They had a lot of band shirts, but it seemed that the majority were in equally poor condition. A Metallica "...And Justice For All" was $68. It was frayed, with a noticeable hole right in the middle of the print. I feel like I must be missing something, because I could have found similar t-shirts, possibly in even better condition, at Goodwill. I actually did find several vintage shirts (yes, one was a Metallica shirt, this one for "Master of Puppets") at Brandy's Attic later in the day. Yes, they were worn, but that's what makes things so comfy, without holes for extra (unwanted) airflow. I also looked at the flannels, most of which were threadbare and, again, overpriced. I saw one that was so worn it was see-through, with a huge hole in the elbow, and it was $68. I actually did find flannels at Goodwill that were just as comfy and less than $10 each. I also found an awesome 70s jumper that I almost bought, but it was slightly too tight and cost $40. I'm still unsure how I feel about that price... The sizes are also on the smaller end, I saw nothing that would qualify as plus-size. Another joy of vintage shopping, I suppose. I love to sift through things and know that proper thrifting is an art form that requires patience and time. While I appreciate the work that the owner of Scorpio Rising puts into her collection and truly love being able to support small businesses, I do not understand to whom the collection is directed.
