I've come to Dr. Esther Ahn for a long time. She has partners now but is still just as attentive as she was when she was alone. They have lots of cute glasses, are very helpful, and they don't screw me with my health insurance. It's important to go to a doctor that is great but also knows how to properly file paperwork so that you don't pay a fortune out of pocket. Well she's great. Dr. Ahn is very friendly, remembers you, very personable, and she works with whatever you need. I am a different customer since I want everything and want to know everything, and she's always great with me. I got my first pair of contacts from her last week to try and she was great. I did not get my glasses here since she didn't have many in stock for people with big craniums, but if you don't have a big head like me you'll be fine. I called around 12:30PM after watching Pretty Little Liars and was not disappointed with the customer service and professionalism from one of the reps who picked up my phone call =D I don't have insurance for my eyes anymore and I remember that I would always come here with my parents ever since I was young! From what I remember, this place always had excellent service, and they really hook you up with a wide variety of lenses. I always got my glasses here but I wanted to try contact lenses. So I called this place to get a quote, and a representative named Sam picked up the phone and was very patient and knowledgeable with the pricing of eye exams and he knew what brands of contact lenses were popular. He answered all of my questions with honesty and told me of the different contact lenses that are out there. Without insurance, an eye exam for contact lenses would be $125. Although he couldn't give me a price range for the types of contact lenses I want, he explained that because there are so many brands out there, it's hard to give a price estimate unless you know what brand you want. Anyway, I'm gonna do some research about this, and hopefully I'll be able to wear contact lenses in the future =D read more

I came here this week after doing some research for a good optometrist. I didn't look up the reviews for this place on yelp beforehand. I had looked at a list of optometry places in the area, and this one was close to my house. I went in, and the receptionist was really nice. I didn't know what to expect since it was my first time here, and I didn't check this place out beforehand. First off, when I called the place to make an appointment the person I talked to was really friendly, and was very understanding, and answered all of my questions. Same thing happened when I walked in, every question I had was answered, and Dr. Ahn was very good at helping me out. I needed to get a new prescription for my contact lenses, and she suggested that I try a different type of contact lenses, that would help my eyes not feel so dry. I had to wait a week and a half then I went back to do a follow up, but this time I talked to Dr. Patel, and she was very good at helping me out, and she didn't pressure me to purchase the contact lenses from their shop. I loved the service here, and I love that there is absolutely no pressure to purchase anything from here, especially since nowadays a lot of shops are often times, pressuring you into buying from their stores. The contact lense fitting and examination here is cheaper than it is at Costco, so if you are in the area, I would suggest you check out this place. I have insurance, but my insurance only covers the glasses examination, so I ended up paying $50 for the contact lense exam. I did end up ordering my contact lenses from here because I looked up the prices online and it all looked around the same. So I decided to just go local and pick up contact lenses from here instead of buying them online. I would definitely come back here for another examination! read more

I've been seeing Dr. Ahn for a few years now. She's always very friendly, thoughtful, and thorough, and all of the staff in the office are pleasant. I'm very satisfied with the glasses and contacts I've received from them. The previous time I was trying to decide between 2 frames, there were at least 5 people in the office willing to play along to let me know their favorite in an A/B test, which was nice. I love their vast selection of eyeglass frames, and Esther Ahn provides great suggestions for different types of disposable contacts to try out (for extended wear and astigmatism, in my case). They've always gotten my prescription right on (which is VERY high: -6.5 in 1 eye, -7.0 in the other for contacts, plus astigmatism, so you can imagine my glasses lenses can be complicated). Over the years, I've ordered at least 4 different pairs of glasses with them, and a few different 6 month+ contact prescriptions. No complaints, highly recommended. read more

I've been wearing glasses and contacts over 30 years and been through many eye doctors. Dr. Esther Ahn is, without a doubt, the best eye doctor I've have ever meet as a patient. And as a nurse of 20+years she has one of most calm and caring approach with patients. I have complicated prescription and eye condition. She explains both patiently in terms I can understand. 20+ years of critical care nursing does not make me any better patient in understanding eye condition and terminology so this is a big deal for me. Make an appt with Dr. Esther Ahn yourself and experience it yourself. Both of my kids go here. One of the young lady staff showed amazing patience in teaching my 14 y o on how to put contact on and off when my son and I had both given up. Kids friendly. Friendly staff. Dr. Kim is a graduate of Gahr High School and Southern California College of Optometry. I've ordered lenses here that were scratched but the receptionists refused to admit that there was anything wrong but agreed to send them back. I didn't know that my retina detached so after dilating my eyes she said I had the eyes of an old man. She had to refer me to an ophthalmologist. The prior reviews don't lie, it was a very good experience. I am rather picky when it comes to my ocular health, since I have pretty horrid vision, and I left completely satisfied. I will recommend my parents to come here as well. From what I understand Dr. Esther Ahn took over the practice and has been in business here for the last 11 years. I have been a long time customer. Our whole family uses this office. From the staff to Dr Ahn, customer service is key. Rarely have I experienced a slight hiccup with their service. If I leave a msg I am called back quickly. They have NEVER made a mistake with me or my family. I've been a patient here for a very long time, even before Dr. Ahn bought the place. When I got married and had kids, we still came here. Great doctors. But recently, with new office staff, my experience has become one filled with disappointments. As you read many reviews of eye doctors, one would notice that they all have great doctors but pretty crummy office staff and that makes the whole experience bad. My experience was same here. Loved the doctors but the office staff service was inconsistent. Missed delivery dates, Mis-communications. Unneeded office visits. These were not just one time thing but kept happening year after year. All these thing leave bad taste in your mouth and things started to pile up. Dr Esther Ahn is the best eye doctor I have ever been to. I have pretty bad eyesight, and I have been to several optometrists and ophthalmologists all my life, especially since I also have diabetes.
