Beware, beware, beware!!…read more My son had a a ticket for Burlington to Bennington on Sunday morning 1/7/2018 -- temperature was 15° below zero. Bus was scheduled to leave at 7:30am but he saw it drive off as he was walking to it at 7:25. I called the office to relate the story and request a refund for the ticket which had been purchased online in advance. The woman first claimed that the bus left on time (not true) and then said that "right on the ticket it says no refunds" (an unconscionable policy given the circumstances). Then she hung up on me. Don't know how these people look themselves in the mirror -- leaving people stranded in subzero temperatures. If you must use them DO NOT purchase an advance ticket. No matter what they do to you, you will not see a refund. Amtrak, Greyhound, hitchhiking, bicycle... anything but this sham of a transportation company.

I have been visiting/supporting Vermont Violin for over 4 years and always dealt with a front desk person who were pleasant and accommodating to my needs (5 stars), however on this day I had a chance to meet the owner and she was not nice, actually unprofessional. The problem My wife visited Vermont Violins to return back our violin and accidently left our contract at the store, so I visited the store to grab the contract that was accidentally left by my wife. You would think it would be an easy thing.. was I wrong. Apparently, since we "don't have a contract" with the Vermont Violin e.g. purchased our latest violin from them we are not allowed to get a printed version of a contract we accidently left at the shop?? Even though we have a $500 credit. The outcome - She wasn't going to print a contract. - Despite my professional approach, the owner spoke to me very rudely - I was told to leave bluntly. I was shocked. Also, for the sake of conversation, we received an email that the store was opened however they requested a call before arriving due to COVID-19. Since I wasn't picking up a violin I was told to leave. Final thoughts I just can't excuse bad behaviour especially when it comes to our hard earn money. I understand if she might have been overwhelmed, but that does not excuse her response to me. Even a follow up call would have been appreciated to say "hey sorry with how everything happened and how can we help" Suggestions for violinist and things we learned: 1. The credit you have earned can only be used for a violin purchase not for accessories, we had to learn that the hard way. 2. Do your research online, there are much cheaper solutions. I gave a 2 star because their products and I know the front desk people are hard workers and have been amazing to our family and others, however on that day I was humiliated by the owner and didn't deserve that treatment.

I first visited the Intervale on a walk with my dog. This large piece of property that lies right along the edge of the city is divied up and made available for people to rent affordably and use for farming. The farms that are at the Intervale are able to share large pieces of equipment and resources and practice sustainably, while contributing to the community in a major way. They make locally grown food accessible to the community through the Gleaning and Food Rescue program, which supplies free fresh veggies to income eligible residents and the Intervale Food Hub's farm shares, which vary in size and can be purchased seasonally. The Intervale helps people to focus on the soil and our interaction with the earth and educates the public on how we all can live more sustainable lives. They offer a composting program, The Abenaki Heritage Garden, and a Conservation Nursery. There are also a number of trails to walk and bike and a river to relax by. They have plenty of community events that encourage the viability of agriculture and promote community engagement with food systems Weather you're going to boogie down at Summervale, a Thursday night music and food ritual that The Intervale and a number of local vendors orchestrate each summer or just go snowshoeing by the river on a still evening in January, The Intervale will quicky become your sanctuary. It is a reminder of the beauty in the world and the importance of getting our hands dirty and providing the source for food that we eat. But they allow overnight parking and I found a spot on the "truck" side against the building where I could use their wifi for a bit before turning in and having a very quiet night's rest.
