Driver called about an hour before delivery. I live in a small neighborhood with tight, one-lanes streets. Even with the rig he was driving, Kevin calmly figured out a way to get his trailer into my yard off of such a tight street with little to no problem. Conditions that have sent other deliveries packing were no challenge for Kevin. He was very polite and willing to have his delivery satisfy my requests. I was impressed with his driving skills, his confident and polite demeanor. All such companies would be helped enormously by such employees. Having been in the construction business for years, I have received many such packages in far easier situations and had far more difficulty with delivery personnel who explain how they are limited rather than solution oriented where they practice their knowledge, experience and skills to the benefit of all involved. I like win-win business and appreciate how Estes performed their delivery. read more

Don't use this company. I call my deliver on Tuesday they said it on the way. NO SHOW. I call back on Wednesday, they scheduled for Friday deliver. NO SHOW. I call back Friday afternoon, the sorry and rescheduled for Saturday. Guess what NO SHOW. I am not sure when they want to deliver. IF YOU NEED UNRELIABLE AND UNTRUSTWORTHY COMPANY, call ESTES EXPRESS at Stafford. read more

If I had known the company I purchased from was going to use Estes, I would have purchased elsewhere. I took the day off work so I could get the delivery that I had to call and set an appointment up for. When I called to confirm I got "Nope, not going out today." I asked what the reason was and was told "Theu just didn't load it today. They are busy." What a crock. I will see now If I can drive the hour and a half down there to pick it up. What an incompetent group. read more

The terminal was very helpful. The agent went to check with the warehouse to ensure my shipment was on the truck going out for delivery. Even gave me an ETA. Not every terminal is as helpful.. read more

No stars from me. I took a day off to receive my package and it never came. I then called them and they had no idea where my $2,000 package was or if it was even in their building. They then figured out that the package was indeed in their store according to their computer but was under a different tracking number. He then told me he dont know why it didn't get shipped to my house and said I can pick it up or schedule a pickup on Monday, it was Friday. He said if I was going to pick it up he needed to know so he can set it out on the dock for me. I told him I would pick it up. I go to pick it up and he don't know where it is and I'm there for over 45 minutes. Worst customer service ever! And a bunch of stupid degenerates working there that should be fired. read more

They gave me a delivery window of 12-5pm on a Friday, the previous day. I took the day off from work, and sat around waiting. At 4pm, I called for an update, and was told that the forgot to put my shipment on the truck. How do you miss a 15ft kayak? I had to argue with them and get them to deliver it, after they tried to "offer" to have me come and pick it up. A 15ft box, in Stafford, 40mi away at 4:30pm on a Friday of 4th of July weekend. Yeah, ok, I'll see you in about three hours if I leave right away. and they told me that it would be here by 8pm. They ended up showing up around 10pm that night. A second delivery from them resulted in damage to the shipment. read more

Wow, now I don't feel so bad after reading other reviews, but this company is a joke. They scheduled and re-scheduled with me FOUR different times and when they finally got around to delivering the shed I bought from Home Depot, they had broken an essential piece of the shed and now needs to be picked up and replaced. The customer service staff was rude, uninformed and discourteous. I hope Home Depot drops the contract with this company because it tarnishes their name. If you have a choice, don't use this company. read more

Like with the previous post, same thing. Told me delivery would be between 1-5 P.M. on a friday, and would call me 30 min prior to delivery. I did a quick run to subway for late lunch (gone 15 min) with my cell with me the entire time. No call, but get home and the invoice on my door. Call shortly after, the truck is already back in Stafford. I need the item that weekend, so I decided to drive to pick up at terminal, during rush hour traffic. Get my item - a grill guard, and part of the box is ripped open, and part of the tube has deep scratches into the metal and a dent, not to mention footprints all over the box. Told me to talk to the vendor, not their fault. Spent the time calling the vendor with no resolution. Now spending time on this post and Better Business Bureu for the Vendor and this horrible shipping place. Highly recommend not using this place to ship anything!! read more

Wow...what a joke!! Ordered 2 pallets of tile from Home Depot, who used Estes as the freight carrier. We received a call from Estes that our delivery would be in two days, which would be a Wednesday. Wednesday comes, no delivery. After calling Estes, we were informed that it would be Friday now. Friday comes and we receive a phone call from the Estes trucker who said that he's on his way, but that someone would need to be home so that we could...get this, "climb on to the rig and help him unload it". HAHAHA!!!! How stupid!! Seriously, not only does that put Estes at risk if I had actually climbed on to the truck and started unloading (and got hurt), but also shows how untrained the trucker is. Anyway, after calling the Stafford office to tell them what their driver just requested, the lady canceled our delivery and said that they couldn't deliver it at all...and that they were sending it back to Home Depot. BTW - management at the Warrenton Home Depot was awesome. They loaded it themselves and delivered it to us. Funny thing is, even the workers at Home Depot said that they're not sure why Estes keeps getting their business...because they face problems like this all the time. Unreal! read more

I ordered a high end gas grill off internet. Dealer used Estes. I saw negative Yelp reviews and was concerned. As it turned out, experience was highly positive. Able to track shipment, called and interacted with polite Estes staff and they followed through with timely and no damage delivery. Important to keep in mind these larger shipments that cant go UPS or Fed Ex are a different animal. At least I could talk to a warm body at Estes--try that with Amazon,,,,,,, Estes turned pallet over to Total Truck in Herndon who delivered to the house. Polite call from TT on Monday promised delivery Tuesday between 1-5. Competent driver arrived at 1pm sharp. Three large boxes shrink wrapped and in pristine condition with lift gate service. Consider me a happy grilling camper. Hope others experience similar in future. read more

I have purchased a patio door thru Home Depot on June 16. I was told that it has left the warehouse in Michigan on June 27th, and it has arrived at Stafford, VA around July 3. Why it took nearly 10 days for it to arrive to Merriefield home depot in VA is beyond my comprehension. It is to arrive tonight, I am told. But then I was told that it would arrive Mon. July 11, Tues, July 12 and am told it's coming tonight. I am holding my breath. If Home Depot is to use Estes Express Lines to ship their merchandise, I would advise Home Depot shoppers be warned that you won't have your oder before a month. Yes, I too would give no stars. read more

12 days they have had my freight, supposed to be a 3-4 business day run. They keep missing appointments and then take a day or 2 to reschedule, instead of putting me at the top of the list for first thing the next day. 12 days and counting, never again. Stay away, run, dont walk away from Estes. read more

Can I give negative stars? Similar experience to the other posters. I was given a 4-hour time window, took time off from work and no call regarding the delivery, no package delivery, and no apology. After making another appointment, the delivery service came after their time window. I called the company, and apparently the driver told them that he arrived on-time along with a few other bits of incorrect information which contradicted the surveillance video from my apartment building. In short, I will no longer do business with any company that uses Estes Express Lines delivery service. read more

So far, I have nothing good to say about the Stafford Estes company DELG (540) 720-1927. I called beginning at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday the 4th of Jun 2016. The time now is 11:44 a.m. The phone states to remain on the line because all of the representatives are assisting other customers. This can't possibly be true. Now, I have two phones that are holding and they are mimicking each other in stereo. To me, this is an indication that the company will provide one of the following responses: The driver is sick again, or the package was left off the delivery truck. These are obviously the typical responses customers receive from the representatives, if they can get through. Previously, days ago, the representative had told my wife that the item (a $2,200.00 swing set for my granddaughter's birthday) was left off the truck. Later, she said that the driver called in sick. From other reviews, I can only assume that everyone is being treated the same way and that's poorly. Rest assured that I will definitely notify Corporate and let them know what is occurring not only to others, but me included. The time now is 11:55 and still no responses on either phone. read more
