I'm disappointed with ESTES, because they only sent one person to deliver which is the driver of the truck. I will give 5 stars to the driver of the truck who was very nice and helpful, but 1 star to the company. There should be at least 2 people to deliver heavy pallets. When I get my sofa delivered there are 3 people in the truck to help. So, for ESTES to put only 1 guy in the truck is inexcusable!! Also, there's no motorized pallet lift which is unbelievable!! So the delivery guy couldn't bring the pallet inside my garage, he couldn't even make it to my driveway. We had to breakdown the pallet and I had to bring each item into my garage. One of the worst shippers I have ever used. Correction. The worst shipper I have ever used. Never called or even sent a text to let me know they were arriving. The driver did not have to by the rules but how hard is to say I will be arriving in 10 min on a text. I know why they don't do this...The dump the item and hope you don't have any contact with them. They will not unwrap the item so you can check for damage. They will not remove the large wood pallets on the ton of trash they bring the item in. This is the 3rd table I ordered. The first 2 were through Amazon and both times the table arrived severely damaged. I contacted the manufacturer and they recommended I purchase from a company that uses LTL shipping. Estes Trucking was the company that handled my table from the East to West coast. The driver traveled through severe winter storms and the Christmas holiday. My table arrived in perfect condition and 2 weeks before expected. Hot water heater was supposed to be delivered on Friday between 11am and 3pm. They called me at noon and said the truck broke down. It is now Tuesday and I don't have my tank or have a new delivery date or time. I don't believe the truck broke down. That was just the excuse they used. We look up the order on Home Depot and it still hasn't been received or processed at Estes. We look up the tracking number on Estes's website and it still says it's in transit. zero rating for Estes. As a business, I handle the clients money without making a dime and get my products shipped cross country. They are big, class 300 goods, which includes BOATS as a item in the description. After about 10 years of getting quotes written by the district manager for Estes, I write a sale and collect the money up front that is quoted . I never get a bill for weeks and weeks. Wonder why... this company has always billed exactly what they quoted and not had issues. They bill me for $400 over the quote, claim an inspection determined new class of 500 which is for gold dust and ping pong balls, eggs, which are all sub 1 pound / cubic foot. My boat is more like 1.5 lb / cubic foot. It's instructed to be TOP LOAD ONLY, which is where fragile stuff should be, on top of the heavy stock like crated items, boxed goods. It's got a stout pallet easily fork lifted so this is practical for the carrier. It's packed with great wrap and pad and well secured to pallet and I get things to end point all way across country with zero claims because of those detailed steps I learned through trial and error. Two inspectors get into the middle of my bill of lading and assess. First one has no different result. Second one some later point on the cross country trip decides to screw us royally. I paid my bill as quoted over 9 months ago. Nothing further occurs. Then this week, I am sent to collections for 4 times the original quoted amount of around $800, so the total demand now is like $3200. Unbelievable for a $1200 items that I made zero profit off on the shipping. It was just a service to the client. Federal Department of Justice sued a bunch of these large national freight carriers for price gouging and fabricating facts on shipped goods post fact. "alleging that these companies systematically overcharged the government for freight carrier services and made false statements to the government that hid their misconduct". Certainly my experience. I run a A grade small business deep into thorough customer service. I get constant accolades from clients thanking me for putting together a awesome store. Now I get Fffd Over by this POS freight carrier who will go after my personal credit worthiness because I am constituted as a small business proprietorship. And I only did what their own staff wrote as a quote. Their own management can't get anywhere with the snake heads running the operation, or this would have gone away a year back when I refused to be jacked over. PLEASE take your business anywhere but ESTES. Only that will convince these jerks to quit abusing the companies who make up small business in USA. We were making them money. Their answer is to kill us off? Crush shipment by truck? It won't deter me, I have reliable small carriers to transport boats, less cost and no lies about missed appointments, stiffed days waiting on the pickup appointment they forgot to keep, and NO DISPUTES about quadruple jacked up invoices. read more

The guy told me since he was by himself delivering that I'd need to hire someone to take the pavers out of truck to my driveway (makes absolute no sense) then attempted to leave pavers on my driveway (he left them in the middle of the street in the middle of driveway) and since he couldn't figure it out he then took them... it took him 2 hours and he destroyed my new driveway read more

It took them two weeks to even pick up my package. I ordered something October 15th, I understand the order needs to process but it's going on a month since I ordered my product. I've been in contact with the company I ordered from and they were waiting on Estes to even come pick it up, I contacted them again today just for Estes to finally give me a call to schedule a delivery. You are on your own then, Feel free to call the main office but they will only call the local office and tell you what I just posted. I wish I could give them less than 1 star. This company was hired to deliver a set of metal furniture to my residence for which I had been waiting months. They only gave a 10 min advanced notice before arrival in the wee hours of the mornin. Then they only delivered 1 of 3 boxes that THEY separated unbeknownst to me. Immediately after opening the box, they were contacted by the company that hired them about the missing items. Despite their drivers acknowledging that the package was split, to date, they have been totally unresponsive. I can only presume that the missing items were stolen. These guys are awful! As some of the other reviews have stated my order is coming from Phoenix and I am inTucson. They have moved the delivery back every day they promised. It will be the 4th time they've changed the delivery. It's an evap cooler for my outdoor animals. The average temperature during this week has been 110 degrees. There is absolutely no reason to take a week to drive 90 miles to Tucson. Poor communication and poor service. I will do everything I can to convince Home Depot not to use them anymore. I'm not sure how to begin here - but it sounds like a consistent experience with those before me. I received multiple text messages with my "tracking" information but that was about the only positive of the experience. This company uses the words "Tracking" and "Scheduled" so loosely I'm not sure if perhaps they have a different dictionary. Ultimately, my delivery window was a Tuesday from 9-5pm. I had cleared my calendar to be there for delivery and 5pm came and went with no word. My "tracking" system showed my "scheduled" appointment magically converted to Wednesday with no notification. I called Estes customer service and the lady was nice enough to commiserate with me and called the hub. The verdict was that the driver had too many stops on his route and did not have time to get to me. The same exact outcome occurred the following day (weds), again (thurs), and again (Friday). To this point I am still waiting on a day that is deemed convenient for this company to drop off my package. Since I led with a sidebar about definitions - Einstein's definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different outcome. I would give zero stars if I could. We commonly have freight deliveries for our business. They require a signature. We waited all day today for the delivery. I got multiple notifications that it would be here today. It did not show up. I had already confirmed with a client that we could start tomorrow due to all of the notifications I got about it getting here today. No one there can help when you call after being on hold for almost an hour. Then I was hung up on. what is even worse, is that this is not the first time this has happened. While the company says they have integrity and are honest, unfortunately, they aren't. If anything looks abnormal with your delivery, refuse the item. Even with photo proof that my item was damaged during delivery, the company would not refund me for my item. When I looked into small claims court to get the money back, I was told I would be countersued by the company. Customer service gave me a photo of my item in transit with an extra box in with it, and a hole in the factory sealed plastic. The box was removed and the hole taped over before delivery to make it appear factory sealed. This violated Estes-Express internal policy to not remove anything or repackage anything. I lost $2,000, the cost of the item as it is damaged beyond repair. I was told by Estes that they were not liable because the manufacturer had not packaged in properly. When I sent photos and website information of the packaged item to the National Motor Freight Traffic Association and had it assessed, their only complaint was that the bathtub did not look strapped to the pallet. But it is bolted in place, much stronger than thin strapping material. Instead, it looks to me that other freight was not secured properly. A photo says a 1000 words: Photo of my bathtub arriving in Salt Lake City in transit to Washington state with a foreign box fallen in with the bathtub, and a hole where an acid powder fell into the bathtub itself. The same powder is on the edge of the box that is in with the bathtub. The hole was taped over prior to delivery. Interesting that the item checked into Salt Lake City as good condition per their reports. read more

I had a small air conditioner through Lowe's was delivered and placed in my driveway. Fortunately I was at home so I could get it into the garage before it was stolen. The company gives a 3 day window when it will be delivered so if you need to be home for a delivery one has to schedule 3 days off work. The driver was nice but there is nothing he can do. read more

This company is a joke. I work in logistics and this experience is appaling. I still havent received my delivery so as of the time of writing this it is yet to be resolved. They no call no showed for my delivery time that THEY called me to set up. I had workers here yesterday specifically to help receive this 1000lb package. I paid them for nothing. The customer service people are telling me they can't get a hold of the 3rd party team that handles the home deliveries. This started at 4 pm on thursday. (Delivery appointment was to be from 1pm to 5pm) Its now 9am friday and still no answers.Is this a joke? This 3rd party team is destroying your reputation as a business. What a stupid way to operate a company. Estes needs to reevaluate their partnership with these people. I will be contacting Home Depot corporate offices to inform them of this experience as well. Today, Monday 12/13 the delivery men arrived unannounced with the delivery. Like everyone else here has stated, this is the absolute worst delivery company. I have been waiting for my 500 pound pallet from October 12. First, customer service told me they were having trouble locating the missing pallet. Then, they told me it was delivered when it most definitely was not. Throughout this email exchange, I was always promised someone would follow up with me within 1-2 days and no one ever once did without me following up first. After the team at Lowe's called them and tried to find a resolve, I was told they would open an investigation and would follow up with me in 2 days. It has now been 8 days, and when I called to follow up, the agent had no idea what investigation I was talkimg about. You can keep repeating that there are currently unprecedented volumes of freight, which is true. However, this does not affect your ability to provide customer service. It should not take a customer needing to call over and over and over for someone to follow up. And to the person who responds to these messages on Yelp, dont bother saying that I should email Estes with my tracking number. I have literally been doing that for two months and never once has anyone tried to actually resolve this for me. read more

I had a terrible experience with Estes and would not recommend them to anyone. I rarely leave reviews but am so frustrated with this entire experience, that I feel the need to share it. My company ordered a ping pong table from an online company who unfortunately used Estes to deliver the table to us. I was unable to control whether or not we used them as our delivery service. After ordering the table, we were told that the table would be dropped off to Estes, and that we would need to wait for the specific location's terminal to reach out, to set up a delivery window. I waited for multiple days and never received a call. I finally called and set up a time for the table to be delivered. The time came and went and no table was delivered. This happened 3 times. Every time, I called to make sure the table would actually be delivered that day and every time was reassured. However, when the time passed and no table was delivered, there was a convenient excuse as to why it couldn't be delivered, every time. No attempt was made to contact me at any point to let me know a change in delivery date had been made. Estes had our table for 2 weeks before it was finally delivered. To top it off, we paid extra and communicated multiple times beforehand, that we needed the table to be delivered inside our building and up to our floor (we are located in a business building). I was assured every time that this would not be a problem. However, when the time came for the delivery, the delivery man left the palate, with the table on it, just barely inside the loading dock. The table was still screwed on the palate and the guy refused to drive his truck up to the loading dock so that the table could be delivered to the proper location. I then had to ask the building's employees for help unscrewing the table from the palate, just so we could get the table up the ramp, to the elevator. The delivery man and the contact from the Baltimore Terminal were not only extremely unhelpful and unwilling to help us solve the problem, but rude and ignored the issue. I would NEVER use this service again. read more

By far the worst freight delivery service available. I feel bad for all the drivers that have to deliver heavy loads outdoors using only a hand pallet jack. Front door delivery is a joke. I ordered 2000lb pallet of rubber mulch. A pallet jack is all the driver had to offer to deliver my order to my driveway. It is now teetering on the very tip of driveway because pallet jacks cannot navigate curbs. How can you offer front door delivery, if your delivery equipment can't make it past a curb. Who doesn't have a curb? Who has a perfectly flat level path from road to door? Anyone who has worked with a pallet jack knows they are for warehouse operations not for outdoor use. These things can't even make it over a pebble, let along the curb to anyone's driveway. I called to complain about front door delivery not as advertised, and the lady was very short and rude, and said "Well, that's how we do things. So...." I am 100% disappointed in the service I received, and I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. Not to mention they were a day late without notifying me that they would be late. read more
