Estero Adventures is a must-do when visiting Morro Bay. Our guide Eric was absolutely wonderful! He was kind and welcoming from the moment we walked in. Very informative with all the safety rules and patient with my small children and all their questions and comments.... The boat rental was perfect and so fun to see otters and wildlife while cruising the bay on a beautiful day. Eric's wonderful service is what made it a really awesome experience.... Highly recommend visiting Estero Adventures!

Great excursion if you're in Morro Bay. We packed a picnic, received a quick, but thorough instruction/training of the vessel and the bay and were off! (After filling out all necessary wavers and such.) If you follow the map and listen to instructions, I think most people should be fine. We went in the off season, so the water wasn't too crowded. We saw tons of marine life, seals, otters, birds, and got a great view of the rock. Perfect afternoon. I recommend bringing a picnic and drinks.

My boyfriend and I, along with our friends and their baby came to Estero Adventures on a whim- we hadn't planned an outing, let alone put in reservations for a boat, but the staff was so kind and squeezed the 4.5 of us in for an hour an a half. We were greeted and felt so welcomed here, and they were so accommodating as we had a stroller with us. We were able to store the stroller in their shed! Before we departed, we were given a quick guide on how to navigate & a map of the bay, a life vest for the baby, and cozy blankets. Though there was a nice breeze, the sun was out and we were able to enjoy a beautiful cruise through the bay. We got to see the sea lions as well as some otters just swimming on by. The boats are VERY comfortable and spacious. We were able to adjust the tops of the boat to either be up or down. The boat was easy to navigate once you get the hang of it and being able to connect to the speakers was a huge plus. I would honestly come back and bring family & friends, it was a lovely experience and something I believe locals and visitors would enjoy.

This was so much fun! Bring some snacks and drinks. You do not need a boat license to drive, they're very easy to navigate. The staff is very nice, easy going and helpful. I would return in a heartbeat!

Mike was awesome. The ride was fun, we had the best boat! We could honk, play music, snuggle with a comfortable blanket, it was easy to understand the instructions and navigate the boat. We were even able to bring our dog! It took about an hour to see the whole tour. Overall a beautiful experience, and interaction with friendly, easygoing people.

We pulled off a surprise birthday adventure for a couple of friends, and it was a huge success! Thank so much to the staff, especially Eric, for making things so easy. They even let us on the boat a little early to decorate it. Everyone had such a great time.

Sea otters were out in full force on a foggy afternoon.

We dropped in on Estero Adventures hoping they would have a tandem kayak for us and they did! John was super helpful in getting us set up and launched. He even gave us a little "head start" before our hour rental started. When we returned to the dock, we texted the number John had given us and Keegan was there to help us on our return. The tandem kayak was in excellent shape and very comfortable. John was really knowledgeable and gave us some great tips to help us fully enjoy our time on the water. We saw a whole bunch of sea otters and seals as well as tons of brown pelicans and other sea birds. Highly recommend!

Electric pontoon boats may not be fast but boy are they a blast around Morro Bay rock harbor! We had four adults and one kid it was around $100 for an hour and we loved every minute of it. There is Bluetooth capability on the boat so you can blast your music and just cruise around. We grabbed some drinks before boarding and just chilled out. You have enough time to probably eat as well if you brought some picnic foods. The one hour was perfect to see all the cute marine life, seals and otters are all around. The views from the boat is absolutely amazing. The customer service and booking was a cinch all online. We parked at a nearby spot as there is no dedicated parking lot. The whole downtown area gets pretty packed so give yourself time to find a spot. Enjoy!!!

I had friends visiting from out of town with their 3 teenagers- we took some snacks and had a blast! The young gentleman who checked us in was helpful, enthusiastic and fun- he also packed us three blankets to stay warm even though sun was out. The teens plugged in their bluetooth so we had beats as we cruised along. Everyone had a wonderful time, and the kids even put away their cell phones for a few to watch the sea otters and seal lions.

Staff was very helpful. We got great instructions on how to operate their electric boats. Great fun . Everyone should do it and get an alternate view of the beautiful Morro Bay!

Chill spot for a rental. Boats are cruisers for sure perfect for just trying to have some beers while listening to some tunes. Boat definitely handled that! Customer service was great! Will be back next time I come up to Morro Bay!

Kids must where a life-vest. So many sea lions!!!

Super fun! Great price! Easy to book! Excellent communication! Highly recommend to locals and visitors! My family and I did the 1-hour boat rental. Directions on how to drive the boat were straight forward. The staff were friendly and easy to communicate with. Love that you can bring food and drinks! We saw lots of sea lions and sea otters. We are already planning our next visit :) Discounts are available! Just ask them!

Had a fantastic time during this adventure with my cousin and my two-year-old, I love that they provided a life vest for him and for us if we needed it, and they were such a good help. I believe his name was Dave or David, but he was a great help. Sorry if I got your name wrong. But I can't wait to go back and do it again for my next vacation

Ask the Community - Estero Adventures

Is there an onsite parking lot?

No unfortunately, we found a spot on the street nearby but the area can get pretty busy so allow extra time to secure a spot. :)

Are dogs allowed on the electric boats?

As I was booking one, I saw that pets were not allowed.

The boat was extremely comfortable and super easy to get on and off. Only 6 people so everyone is able to see the show. Captain Mark is personable, experienced and safety conscious. While you can never be guaranteed as to what you will see, the experience we had totally exceeded our expectations - lots of whales breaching and showing off their flukes and dolphins accompanied us for a while playing alongside the boat. We saw multiple groups of whales lunge feeding, with whales, sea lions, and tons of birds all feeding together. We also saw lots of dolphins and had a chance to cruise alongside them for a while. Our guide, Mark, was fantastic. He clearly knew the whales and their behavior, always kept us informed about what was happening and where to look, and was happy to answer all of our questions. The highlight came when Mark spotted a whale away from where we were watching and decided to head over to check it out--even though we were already seeing some incredible activity. We're so glad he did. Shortly after we got there, the whale breached right in front of our boat! An unforgettable moment that we never would have experienced without Mark's knowledge and instincts. Our original trip had actually been canceled the day before because of bad weather. While that was obviously disappointing, it was completely outside their control, and we really appreciated how they handled it. They added an extra third trip the following day so they could accommodate us. We also brought our three-and-a-half-year-old along, and he had a great time. He was comfortable throughout the trip and really enjoyed the experience. It may not be for every three-and-a-half-year-old, but it definitely worked great for ours! It was the best whale-watching experience our family could have asked for. It truly couldn't have been any better!

True to it's name, if you have the cash you have a seat. To begin your voyage you and your group gather outside Captain Stew's office on the wharf. For all intents and purposes his office is really just a door with a grease penned phone number on it. Apparently you call the number and some person tells you to wait for the boat to show up. We just waited outside his door and walked right on board when he landed at the dock. No reservation needed. The tour is about 45 minutes, blankets and binoculars are there for your use. The captain does a good job with facts about the bay while trying his best not to hit the many kayaks that are tootling around. You'll probably see at least fifty sea otters as they're everywhere in the Bay. There's one other stop the boat makes on this trip and that's to pick up more/drop off passengers on the other end of the wharf. - Kids get a free stuffed fish - Yes, that's a Budweiser sign above the Captain's office door.. - There are several negative reviews for this tour, mostly along the lines of cancelled reservations. This is a woman and veteran owned family business run by Shasta and Annie, and their mom, Patti. Patti is a great representative and face of the company. From my very first call with her on Tuesday to see if I could schedule some sort of harbor cruise for the family, she was extremely helpful and hospitable in putting together a private charter of 2.5 hours, including a sit down dinner for Sunday evening. I could not believe my luck. I was the star of my family in being able to score this amazing activity on such short notice. Not only were we going to have a beautiful cruise around the Bay, but we would not have to worry about dinner reservations too. The price was very reasonable, and the whole booking and meal selection process was easy. There were great menu options, and Annie is a fantastic chef - the food was excellent, and she was even able to accommodate a few vegetarian and vegan people in our group which was much appreciated. The boat itself was lovely, and the cruise was super chill. No need to worry about anyone getting seasick, as the boat stayed in the bay. We lucked out with incredible weather and no fog; just beautiful views of Morro Rock, sailboats, and sea life. Our family included kids as young as 7 and as old as 89. Everyone had a blast, and there were no issues for the two oldest with mobility issues and walkers getting on and off the boat. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The captain of the boat even let the 5 little kids ages 7-11 have a go at "assisting" to navigate and drive the boat. They were equally happy to play with the first mate doggy, Zorro. :) Parking was surprisingly not a problem on the busy weekend. Some of us parked on the street; others found spots in the lot in front of the dock. There was a full bar on board, which the adults loved; bartender made great drinks. Fresh flowers on the table was a surprising and lovely detail. Annie's homemade ice cream and blueberry cobbler were icing on the cake! It was an all around fantastic day, and a beautiful memory for all. Thank you so much for giving us this wonderful experience. I highly recommend Chablis Cruises to anyone considering it.

The short story: you absolutely will not regret going on a trip with Maya Sailing Adventures! It's personal, private, beautiful, fun, easy, and so relaxing. The long story: my sister in law's wedding was postponed due to COVID-19. So the day of her wedding we planned a surprise sailing excursion with Captain Terry. My first impression was that he was incredibly easy to plan with. Everything was up to me. I could bring anything I wanted to make it a special night. It was so easy to plan and get all set up! So we set up a 4 hour sail around the bay for 4 people. After 2 hours he would drop my husband and I off and let my sister in law and her fiancé sail together for the last 2 hours. My biggest concern was that it wouldn't feel private enough for such a special occasion. No reason to worry at all, actually it was incredibly intimate and romantic and very private. If you'd like to chat with Captain, you can, but otherwise he is manning the boat and you are on our own in the front of the boat. It was so private and felt like we were on the boat by ourselves. I set up a charcuterie board and wine tasting with 5 different types of wines. Then we ordered a steak dinner from Windows on the Water and served it to them before they set sail on their own. That's the awesome thing about Maya - it's completely customizable for YOU. We sailed around the bay and relaxed and saw so many otters - mommas and babies! And even a baby seagull! Seeing the animals was so fun. My sister in law and fiancé then went out of the bay and sailed a little bit and saw A WHALE! I was so jealous. But seriously- how amazing? I CANT WAIT to do another trip with Captain Terry. One day, I would like to do the same thing but with only my husband and I... But my sister in law and her fiancé had a wonderful time and so did we. It was one of the best date nights of my life and I can't wait to do it again! You won't regret a sail with Captain Terry and Maya Sailing Adventure!
