Always get your limit with these guys. Doesn't matter what boat. All three boats are hands down the best charters in Morro Bay.

Had an amazing 3/4 day out on the avenger! Crew was great as always, captain Brad did a really good job getting us on fish and deckhand Manny was very helpful!

Ok first time in Over 30 years going deep sea fishing and I had a blast. The waves were crazy, people were getting sea sick, and everyone was soaking wet, but through it all I was catching rock cod like there was no tomorrow. The captain did a great job navigating the boat through rough seas and the crew worked wildly to make sure everyone was getting help with their fish and man were the fish biting. I limited out within the first hour and then helped everyone else limt out also. The entire operation was run brilliantly and everyone on board had a great time.

Took our two grandsons (11 and 8) for a half day of fishing on Morro Bay. What an experience! The boat (Avenger) was big and not crowded, we had one whole side of the boat for the four of us. The crew was awesome and helped with the poles and bait and pulling in all the fish. We caught over 20 big beautiful rockfish. The onboard crew cleaned and cut all the fish so we could bring it home to eat and freeze. This was such a wonderful trip for all of us and the kiddos were free with each paying adult. Poles and tackle were only $25 each and good quality. Highly recommend this trip for families. Thank you crew of Avenger - you made this such a special day with the grandkids.

We went out on the Avenger boat and our experience was as great as it could be. Check in and getting rental equipment was a breeze, especially since we got there about an hour before our 7am start time. The ride out to the fishing location was a bit choppy and made a few of us nauseous, but that's not anything that can be blamed on the fishing charter themselves. We were a group of 8 and 3 of us ended up vomiting (with slightly choppy waters, lots of drinking the night prior, and only a couple hours of sleep...it was bound to happen to at least 1 of the 8 guys we had on the trip). Once we finally got to a spot we dropped our lines and a few of us almost immediately caught some fish. The captain moved the boat around several times to ensure we were fishing in locations with plenty of fish. This was one of my friends first time fishing and he ended up catching the 2nd biggest fish of the trip. Toward the end there was a spot we found where there were tons of fish near the surface. It was practically like shooting fish in a barrel. You drop your line in and probably 5 seconds later you've hooked a fish. Don't experience that very often. The crew themselves were great and very helpful, especially Megan. We told her we had some first timers and she made sure to hang around us a bit more to help us out. We ended up making some fish and chips and also baked the fish with a cajun rub and lemon zest. It was good stuff, and knowing that it was fresh fish we caught earlier that day made it all the better and more delicious. Overall we had a great time and not a single bad experience with this fishing charter. I would book with them again if I ever come back out to Morro Bay!

Went out on the Endeavor with my family 05/01/23 and I got to say it was the best rockfish trip yet !! Captain put us right on the fish on a day when the patriot canceled on us (Due to weather)after driving out there from Los Angeles and having booked a room for two days lol still the Endeavor and it's AWESOME crew saved the day and made our trip a complete success much love and appreciation for everything you guys are the best !

Went on the Endeavor. Amazing trip! Deck hand Tabitha is AMAZING! First time trip deep sea fishing; my son and I had no clue what we were doing so Tabitha REALLY helped us out. The Captain came out and made sure we were all having a good time , SUPER nice guy. Everyone got their fish and we couldn't of had more fun! 8 hour trip flew by! (Tip: bring cash 1s and 5s, take Dramamin night before and day of, patches DO WORK get them from your doctor..I EASILY get motion sickness and with the patch and Dramamin absolutely no nausea)

What a great Birthday Trip.. weather was "greasy" they said.. family of 5 and so worth it. Plus God was so amazing to me, I was reeling in a fish and gracefully feeling great vibes when I seen the most beautiful fish rising from my line JACKPOT Ling I won!! The deckhands were great John & Mike were awesome and treated everyone with such respect and hospitality, Mike outdoes himself making breakfast burritos and hamburgers If I ever had to bring my family deep sea fishing I would come back to this business. We came home with so much fish, special ones were the Boccaccio, Sol, Reds, China fish and of course my Winning Ling.

Took the 1/2 day fishing trip on Endeavor last week. About 18 on board. Limited out and back in port by noon. Tons of small rockfish. Kept pulling up 2 at a time on the rented poles and tackle. Rough water and a lot of wind but moved out to deeper water and the Captain kept us on the vermillion rockfish. Crew masterfully filleted the catch and we went home with more worth of fish than we paid for the whole trip.

So best fishing experience ever, Fernando and Brad were excellent, Brad was our captain, attentive deck hand Fernando, I caught a lingcod and as soon as I pulled it up, it let go. I was so bummed I lost it off the hook. But little did I know, Fernando (the deck hand) saw it all, and grabbed a gaff and got my lingcod right up, also I won the jackpot. Due to my killer fish and Fernando. Brad is super cool captain, fun crew to be with if your looking for a fun day in the ocean killing fish!

    Can anyone say JACKPOT!

Can you drink beer on the boat?

You can't bring your own alcohol but they do sell beer on the boat. Bring cash.

Wow! I mean. Wow!!…read more I'm an angler. I fish a lot. By "a lot" I mean every break from work, time to myself, wanna get away and nothing else to do. Well, there's always something else to do. Fishing. A few years ago, an angler friend who drove down to San Diego to fish tuna told me wonderful stories about Morro Bay and the size of the fish they catch up there. He made it sound like the Land of Plenty. We anglers love to tell fishing tales, just look at the length of this review so far, so I took it all with a grain of salt; by salt I mean a good flavorful blackened fish rub. HELLO! After the fishing trip ended, he sent me an invite to join a Facebook group called Friends of the Black Pearl. I accepted the invite because I had just deleted my old FB account because I kept getting put in Facebook Jail, 30 days being able to see posts and comments from everybody else but not able to post or comment myself, TORTURE! People posting and commenting stupid stuff and I couldn't check them. Anyway, what's this review about? Oh yeah. The Black Pearl. I started to see the photos of the fish people caught and thought I myself, hmmm. "6 hour drive in the car by myself. Hotel room by myself. Get some fishing in the next day. Hotel room again by myself. 6 hour drive home by myself." No sooner than I finished the thought, maybe while I was still thinking, I had already booked my first trip and hotel. It was the " by myself" part that did it. What? I love my family. I just need to miss them every now and then. My first trip the weather did not permit the boat to leave the bay due to the extreme conditions. However, three things happened. 1 - We were still able to catch a lot of decent sized fish. Not the monsters I was expecting, but definitely bigger than anything I would have caught in San Diego. 2 - I saw a Captain, Captain Brian, drive a boat with the most skill I've ever seen a Captain display on a day trip. I mean, the sea was rough yet he was able to keep us on the rock pile so we could keep fishing. I had never seen such a thing. I didn't even know it was possible in such high surf and wind. 3 - I met and bonded with the most exceptional crew ever. From Gambit preparing amazing means then handling the rails deck handing with best of them to the other deck hands making sure tangles were immediately addressed and angler had the time they paid for. It was like 4 star hotel hospitality training. Amazing!! However, I didn't see the huge fish I was promised. Then that's when I learned the term "Jurassic Park". Turns out that when the sea conditions permit, the boat is able to leave the harbor and sail to the coast of Big Sur. With that information etched in my brain, I scheduled a 1.5 day and did the drive and hotel thing again a few months later. This time... We made it! OMG!! Monsters!! Now with monsters come tangles because you're fishing so deep and let's face it, the fish you hook are fighting for their lives and don't come straight up. They're swimming all over the place in their panic and wrap themselves around other anglers' lines in their fight for survival. The harder they fight the more fun I'm having. " Yeah Baby! You better fight if you wanna avoid this beer batter and hot grease. Fight like your life depends on it!! It does!" I crack myself up. Since I've been fishing this boat, I've joined a few sponsored trips, made a huge amount of friends, caught lots of fish and even taken my son and best friend to fish with me. I don't even bother to fish rock fish in San Diego anymore. I've experienced the boat's new remodel, new crew members, I've even enjoyed Lisa's fine cuisine on every trip. Oh! Didn't I mention that? Lisa, the boat owner, specially prepares the meals at home for every trip. So you don't just get boat burgers, you get real food. I'm talking brisket and pulled pork sandwiches. Hot dogs with home made pickles, pickled cabbage and sour kraut. Potato salad (), baked beans and so on. A different meal every time. Today, a trip on the Black Pearl has become my happy place. When I need a break or just want to fill my freezer, or even just wanna see Gambit, Captain Brian and the crew again, I plan this time for myself. As an experienced angler, it's really not about catching fish, it's about the experience while fishing. Check out these photos over my years on the Pearl.

It was definitely hard to move around which also could've been because there was extra people on the boat that got on the wrong charter boat. I could have done without the smoking. Pretty much every minute of the trip was filled with smoke instead of sea area. We did go on a charter to experience fishing and smell the fresh air. We will not be returning to the though I'm sure that most charters are filled with nonstop people smoking.

For months I've been telling my husband if we have good weather while we're there, I would really love to rent a pontoon and cruise around Morro Bay. We rented pontoons in other locations in California, but never here and we had no idea which boat rental company to go to. We looked at this one and one other and clearly we made the best choice going with Morro Bay Boat Rentals. Their boats are clean, well maintained and maybe a bit larger than some others. When we walked into their shop, we were greeted by friendly and accommodating staff. Good Customer Service makes a difference! Although we spoke with three different people, Dane is the one who explained the process, brought us down to the boat, clearly explained the operations of the boat, and where we could, and could not go within the bay. We had a hand radio so that if there were any problems, we could get in touch with Dane immediately, as well as let them know when we were heading back so Dane could be there waiting to help my husband pull into the boat slip. As far as our experience out in the middle of the bay, it was amazing and everything I hoped for. First of all our dog absolutely loved it. My husband was easily able to drive the boat and thoroughly enjoyed it. As for me, I was busy taking photos with my long camera lens of birds and otters and Morro rock. I have been looking forward to this for months and I was not disappointed. We were fortunate to have a sunny day and calm waters. We spent about an hour and a half cruising around, and it was truly the highlight of our time on the central coast. We radioed Dane about five minutes before we approached, and he was there at the end of the dock waiting for us. He asked us how we enjoyed our time and if everything went well. Back in the office we signed off the papers and told all three members that we were really happy with our choice to rent from them. Let's see if I can figure out how to attach some photos.
