Incredible experience on the whale watching tour! Captain Dakota was entertaining and always willing to answer questions. We got to see sea lions, sea otters, dolphins swim along the boat, and lots of humpback whales! If you get seasick, make sure to prepare with medicine! It can get a bit choppy. We had a good time, saw a thresher shark breach once we got out past where the bay and the ocean meet (cool line) and didn't see much else until the very end, about 5 minutes before returning we saw a few spouts and fins from two humpback whales who kept diving on us Captains were funny and they played good music. We sat in the front the entire time, definitely bring sun screen and layers. read more

Our experience on our Whale Watching excursion was nothing short of amazing. The crew were very professional and helpful for the folks that have never been on the high seas. We saw an abundance of whales, dolphins, and seals. I have been numerous times in the past and have to say this was the BEST!!! Since people from all over the world come to the Central Coast and book these excursions, I would suggest to the company that before you set sail, make sure to announce there is absolutely no SMOKING or VAPING on the boat at any time. I was honored to be included in a memorial to scatter the ashes of an extended family member at sea in Morro Bay. Sub Sea Tours provided the Catamaran for the ceremony, including the services of a pilot and captain. The staff provided exceptionally kind and sensitive direction to the bereaved. They let all of us know what to expect, how to handle any seasickness that may arise (which unfortunately did for a few of us but not me, thanks to ginger chews) and advised us that they would position the boat according to wind direction for the scattering. They were clearly prepared for this type of ceremony and very tactful in their interactions with the family. They also quietly pointed out wildlife as we made our way out to the open sea. Overall, the ceremony went off without a hitch and was a beautiful send-off for a beautiful person. Highly recommended if your loved one may have requested this type of celebration of life. read more

I drove up to Morro Bay specifically to go whale watching, I wasn't disappointed. In the harbor we saw sea lions lounging on their own pier and several sea otters frolicking. Out on the open ocean seas were choppy, but that only added to the experience. The knowledgeable crew was very helpful in finding these marine mammals. We saw several humpback whales and a playful pod of dolphins. Sea lions on the hunt as well. Too many sea birds to count! I plan to go back when the gray whales are migrating. read more

We went on the afternoon whal ewatching tour, it was great. We saw a group of 100's of dolphins, and a pack of humpback whales feeding putting on a great display and showing what amazing creatures they are. The boat was rocky and my son did get seasick. But the crew was great and super helpful with tips for him. read more

Bear in mind this review is colored by having the single greatest whale watching tour that you could experience: we saw multiple humpbacks and followed a pod of Orcas for 1.5+ hours. There was more than one breach. The orca pod included a baby. It was sunny and 60 degrees. Nature was definitely cooperating. That said, the tour company did a great job. Everyone was friendly and accomodating. The boat was at full capacity, but you could still move around. Communication was clear. They were sensitive to the wildlife and did a good job getting a view while giving them space. The comm system on the boat could be louder (my only complaint). Conditions were "Favorable" according to our captain, but it was still pretty rough. Don't be a hero, take the dramamine, follow instructions. But highly recommend! read more

Fantastic time, it's my second tour with these guys. I was here a year ago and had an amazing trip, so I came back for more. We got to see so many Whales, I lost count. We were also lucky enough to come across a pod of about 150 dolphins. The whole trip was so magical and the crew were amazing! read more

Everyone was super excited to see several whales and learn about their tracking & pods of dolphins feeding like crazy! We felt very comfortable and it was a gorgeous day on the bay! Special shout out to the Captain and his lovely tour guide who offered so much valuable info and assistance when needed, one of our young travelers got little sea sick but you had everything we needed to remedy this! Just a fantastic day especially for our elder friend with limited stamina! I can't emphasize enough how much the sunscreen was a blessing, we all got a little suntan, just right! This was a great trip! The captain should have his own show in Vegas, very funny comentary on the way out of the harbor. He actually kept us out a little longer making sure we got another look at a blue whale in the area. He even offered to take funny camera pics with a toy whale. read more

Well, we walked right up and within a amount of minutes, we got a two seater kayak and effortlessly were in the water and probably no more than 10 minutes from filling out the forms. And lo and behold we went out to see otters and by the grace of God there was one right there where we Embarked next to the dock. It could've been better. We could've canceled the reservation and seeing what we needed to see. Lol just kidding. We paddle Lead out and in no time saw what we came for. It was effortless and the nice lady that helped us helped me get my big butt down into the kayak without falling in the water lol. I would recommend them highly. On top of that I accidentally left my jacket there and the owner, Adam was kind enough to mail it to me. You don't see that kind of service nowadays. Thank you so much. This was a really excellent tour and such an incredible experience. The captain and tour guide were friendly, knowledgeable, and made the trip really fun. The boat is smaller (which really made the experience so much better since you're closer to the ocean/sealife), so if you get sea sickness- make sure to wear your seabands or take medication first. We saw HUNDREDS of dolphins, quite a few whales, sea otters, sea lions, and truly had a blast. It was the best whale watch tour we've ever done. read more

Whale watcjing with Sub Sea Tours was a great experience for my husband and myself. The staff was so kind and informative. I was freezing and the sweet gal that worked there let me borrow a jacket which made the day much more enjoyable. She so made several rounds offering lemon ginger chews and wintergreen for those folks that were feeling a little sea sick. Our captain shared bits of information along the way and really worked hard to find some whales. He so played great music. We only saw one whale but we did get to enjoy her for quite some time. The water was pretty choppy but that was nobodys fault. We had a great day and would recommend to others. read more
