I've been taking this class over a year. My body has been dramatically developed so far. Before taking this pilates class, I had round shoulder and back and a lot of love handles. I wasn't interested in working out, even plank for 10 sec. However, I've lost over 10lbs. my body fat is 17% after taking this class. In addition, I can do abdominal plank for 3 mins. However, I don't know if it was just me but I took the aerial yoga with Minjeong instructor and I have to say... she was cold. Her vibe was not friendly at all. Her voice sounds friendly but I can tell that her vibe was not friendly nor really helpful. I bought the groupon deal for 3 classes and honestly I wanted to originally take the aerial pilates but wanted to try the aerial yoga just to see what it's like. After this experience, I realized that it's so important to have a good and friendly instructor. Beginners who are taking this aerial yoga class (aka me) have a hard time with flexibility and strength and I felt like this instructor was not much helpful. I get it, it's a group class so you need to go about the time frame but if someone in your class is struggling, you should do your part to physical help the people in your class. I'll basically be wasting my money but I won't be finishing the rest of my two classes from my groupon deal because I left this place with a sour taste in my mouth. This review is about my experiences 3 years ago per COVID. I used to work nearby so I came here often during the date for both aerial and platform. After surgery, I lost all my abs muscle, I explained to the instructor minjoing, she seemed to understand and encourage me the keep trying m. During one try, I pulled my lower back muscle that's connected and wrapped around my legs( dr explained to me this way). That was 3 years ago, when I thought it was not a big deal, I tried to recover and move on my life. Then I got pregnant, COVID happened, lots of exercises stopped, 3 years later, that muscle is still bothering me. I have spent a lot of rehab money, time, energy, that muscle is still severely damaged. I just wish the instructor could have be careful of giving out instructors based on each students condition. And provided support when it's needed. So no more injury. On top of that, I have bought a class pack right before I found out I was pregnant. The owner refused to transferred to my friend, refund. I have to show her the California law on this, she has to refund. Just small unnecessary struggles. I was very interested in trying Pilates so I searched and found Esteem Pilates. They have a first time package, 3 private classes for $165 so I jumped at it and I'm so glad that I did. Pilates was a huge challenge for me but my instructor was great! She was clear, thorough and patient. She knew what she was doing and I was able to follow her directions because of that. She pushed me well and encouraged me. The facility is very clean! Pretty too, very good aesthetics. The best reformer classes! :) I have been going to Esteem 3 times a week for over 3 months now. The studio is lovely and the classes are really small. I'm an absolute beginner and really appreciate the time the instructors take to make sure I'm aligned correctly and doing all the exercises the right way. I have noticed a big difference in my strength and posture. I have even started to notice that I'm looking more toned. I did try a flying class, but it was just too hard for me at the moment since my upper body strength isn't very good. I would really recommend taking the private classes as well! Jessica has been amazing and I really enjoy using the Cadillac. She is always super patient with me and I fell that she caters the private classes for what I need and can actually do. I just completed my 3-class trial session at this studio, and I must say that it was a pleasant experience to be surrounded by well-trained instructors in a clean environment. Even though this was my first time trying pilates, I din't get stressed out because both Wooyand and Jessica were very supportive and encouraging. Their guidance was not harsh or damanding like some of the other instructors I've come in contact with in the past (yoga, personal training). The classes are small so they feel like private sessions with lots of personal attention. Everything is new so you can concentrate on exercising instead of worrying about broken equipment. My experience after the very first group lesson in pilates reformer class lead me to sign up for membership and fell in love with the instructors who are very caring and knowledgeable. If you have never experienced a pilates class, this is the place to start and continue toning and sculpting your body. The instructors are not at all intimidating but so supportive and encouraging. Even though it was a group setting, the maximum number is 5 and the instructor moves around constantly to physically adjust your body for any needed adjustments. You will get the personal attention in a small group. When you purchase 10 or 20 group classes, you can use them for any of the pilates reformer class, Pilates cardio class or flying (aerial)pilates class! They have regular pilates with reformer , cardio Pilates with reformer which is a combination of cardio work and pilates, flying yoga and aerial dance(?). I tried pilates reformer, cardio pilates and flying yoga. They all hard but fun. Flying yoga is kind of scary since you have to hang in the air and do the poses. But will get use to it .
