I had signed up for a free class, I received confirmation via text of the class/time. I arrive at the studio only to be turned down, stating "I was waitlisted", when there was no indication of me being waitlisted in the text conversation. I am frustrated, and feel like an oversight. I enjoy Alison Lee pilates class very much. I was going to cancel my membership with LA Pilates, but tried Alison Lee class and I loved it. She has a way of teaching that I had never came across with any other instructor. Alison is very organized, I could see how she puts effort into planning her routine prior to teaching it. Been coming here for 3 years now and love it. I have arthritis and doing weights just isn't as easy as it used to be. Never felt intimidated or embarrassed coming to classes here. Everyone is helpful and just want to see you succeed and be the best version of yourself. There are different types of instructors and classes that will suit almost any need. Classes open two weeks in advance and there are four locations to choose from. Classes are about 50 Minutes long, and you'll definitely see results! I had always been curious about Pilates and fortunately saw an ad for a free class from LA Pilates (as well as other local studios). I tried them all but fell in love with LA Pilates. I like the capabilities of the style of reformer they use and the variety of classes they offer. Since I began my journey two years ago, I've worked out at each of their locations and tried every type of class. This is the most intimate studios of their four locations. Don't be shy! Signed up pre-covid. i loved it took classes outside, in parking lots in alleys. i got hurt work, and asked to freeze my account until i had surgery i got push back. and then they accepted. finally have full function of my hand ten months later, just to be told my account was closed when it was supposed to be frozen even though i provided note from my surgeon. No one called me i didn't get a recorded message about changes although i got one to tell me happy birthday last month. i didn't get a text an email or letter in the mail. I was told there were notices at the studio. So basically after telling me i needed a note from my dr. it was accepted and closed anyway without a notice a call or letter in the mail. Took a reformative reform class this morning with Connie and it was an excellent class. From the moment I walked into the studio I was welcomed with a smile and a feeling of light and relaxation. The music was delightful as it set the tone for what I was going to experience. Connie began the session with us focusing on our deep breathing so we could concentrate on the nature of each move and control the movement. The instructors are incredible however management/ owners don't deserve the loyalty of the members. They silently changed prices and plans. What used to be an affordable membership is now a $1,000 down payment and over $200 monthly in additional payments! They did not honor previous conversations and make up arbitrary deadlines. I was struggling to keep up with the exercises. The trainer had no patience for me and called me out for taking my time. She made the other girls continue doing the same exercise until I finished. I would never come here again. Veronica told me that I should take another class infront of the entire class. I am trying my best to get back to working out after a back injury. Veronica, had no patience and called me out, which was not professional. I had signed up prior and deposit was 500 to lock in my rate, they never returned my money, and basically told me to go to another class that is more suitable for my level. Now, all of the classes are always booked, so if you evern have a membership its hard to get into any of the classes. I wasn't able to locate an actual Yelp page for the LA Pilates, Long Beach location which has been in place for well over a year now. But I believe many of the instructors teach at multiple locations, so hopefully this review makes sense. I joined LA Pilates Long Beach early 2020, before Covid and quarantine life hit hard. They were doing an early bird promo of sorts and when I broke down the cost per class, I decided to sign up. The unlimited option was a really good price, but with the other workouts I had on my calendar, I opted for the 8 sessions per month. I felt it would blend perfectly on the days in between kettlebell, spin and beach walks. I've tried the reformer flow classes, cardio sculpt and cardio flow. Each offering something different. Personally, I prefer the cardio classes. And in all honestly, it's because they are easier. Don't get me wrong, the cardio classes will leave you breathless and sweaty, but the flow classes are so intricate and meticulous that I find them more challenging than what I am able to actually do. Which probably means I need to do more flow classes, but for now, I will stick with cardio. As for the instructors, the ones I've had are all good. Just like the variety of classes, each instructor has something to offer. My two favorites are Cynthia Logsdon and Faira Esposito. Recently, I started taking classes with Ashley White and she is awesome as well. Cynthia's instruction is spot on and she spoils us with always making sure the reformer machines are set up before class begins. And if you like the 80s, you will love her music. Faira is fun. Like the kind of fun that leaves you wondering if working out should be that much fun. Great high energy and music that keeps you going. I've only had 2-3 classes lead by Ashley, so I'll need to come back and add to this review at a later date, but so far, she has been a blast. I started talking classes at the Norwalk piLAtes location when they opened. I love everything about this place: they know your name; there are only 12 spots available in any given class, so it's easy for the instructor to see & correct your form; it WORKS! Since 2010, I have done 20+ half marathons & without fail, I have always been sore for a day or two following a race. The attached photo is the mileage & elevation gain of an event I did this past weekend - 38 miles of dirt, rocks, & sand, 3600ish feet of elevation gain. I fully admit my run/hiking training was lacking, I should have been EXTREMELY sore after Day 1 (Bryce Canyon) but thanks to pilates, I wasn't! By Day 3, I was singing the praises of reformer based/instructor lead pilates to anyone who would listen! The pricing at piLAtes is responsible compared to a 24/LA when you think about what you get for your membership. Every class at piLAtes is small, so it's like a personalized session. To get the personalized training a at regular gym, you pay extra & then they push supplements & more training (more money). I am new to Pilates. But in a short time period, I have noticed positive results in my body. I only wish I would have not had wasted so many years and money in a regular GYM. So far I have taken classes with Melly and Veronica which have been exemplary, really. For some years, have had an injury and have had struggle to find an appropriate way to exercise. Unfortunately, for years, I have not been able to find a way to exercise leading to general weakness of my body. I informed Melly about this injury and she remembers and makes sure to accommodate my needs--This has meant a lot me. Overall, the advertising is transparent, instructors are genuine, and receptionist are super attentive; for example, offering See's chocolate in Valentine's day. Needless to say, I am grateful for this business because I feel I finally have a chance to strengthen my body, despite this chronic injury. Thank you. read more

Some gyms/studios are magical places where you are comfortable and can meet your fitness goals as the same time. LA Pilates Fitness is definitely one of those places. Run by the team of Art and Danny, this studio actually has 3 locations...2 in Norwalk and 1 in Carlsbad. The studios have new equipment and are fantastically maintained. Art and Danny see to it that the members and guests are always taken care of when it comes to scheduling, safety, and making sure that they have the best instructors working on staff. I've been going to their original studio location for a little over a year. I actually signed up before the studio opened and got a great deal...the current deals they have now are way better than what competing studios are offering...reformer style Pilates cannot be super cheap, but the deals offered at LA Pilates Fitness are super reasonable. If you don't trust me, go do some research and you'll find that I'm right. The facilities are well maintained. Everything is super clean and bright. It actually becomes a community where all the members are more than happy to pitch in and wipe down their own machines and help new guests or members during the classes. Everyone is super nice to each other and very encouraging. The instructors Art and Danny have found are great. They each have their own philosophy and run their classes accordingly. I've taken classes from Rocky, Simone, Mely, Ashley and Veronica. I always feel like I get a great workout with any one of them. In the last year, I've worked on stretching and toning. I always feel lighter and more accomplished after every session. Come by and try it out if you're curious. I absolutely love this place. I started by trying it out with a Groupon I bought. I was a little intimated at first but Since day one the workers and instructors has been amazing and super helpful. Once my Groupon was up I signed up for membership, everyone is so nice. I've been going about a months now and I all ready feel and see a difference in my body. I always get a little euphoric rush after the workout is over. The facility is super clean, temperatures are check before you can get on your reformer machine, once your workout is over you are given a bottle of disinfectant cleaner and a clean microfiber cloth to wipe down your equipment. The no cloth is used twice, cloths are taken to the wash daily to decrease the spread of germs. read more

Ok so this maybe TMI but I almost died in childbirth spring 2019, had awful postpartum for like a year and then a miscarriage. I've never worked out in my life and I have fibromyalgia. This place after one week is life changing for me. My fibromyalgia symptoms are subsiding, I'm getting stronger. I can't do too much floor work like yoga because I suffer from constant pressure pain, so the reformers are amazing for me. I'm obsessed with one amazing teacher, I follow her to 3 locations, I'm not going to tell you who that is because there's only so many spots in her class but her name rhymes with harmonica lol. Its definitely a more intimate experience as opposed to just going to the gym. It's a good workout for those wanting to try something different. This place really continues to amaze me. Everyone should take advantage of Loris Yoga classes because her classes are soo soothing and help to distress me. I've only been going to yoga for less than a month and I can already pull my leg behind my back and hold it with my arm behind me. Loris voice is soo calm and she focuses on proper movement and stretching and being in the right position. She only teaches a few times per week in the afternoon, but if ur on lunch break, please try to go and help your mind and body to set an intention. Ever since I started going to her classes, I can sleep for the entire night without waking up once, and I supply wake up 2-3 Xs during sleep. After her class, I feel well rested and at peace. Please take advantage! literally love this place! The instructors are super super friendly and encouraging. It's a great ambience. All of the students help each other and help the new students with the machines. No need to feel intimidated coming here because everyone is soo welcoming and we all come in different shapes and sizes and wth different injuries and the instructors are accommodating and will accommodate the work outs to the people whom have injuries as to still be able to do the workout without any further injuries. The first 2 times I came, I needed a lot of help with the machine and the instructors and other students were super helpful and always willing to help me get through the class. classes havehelped with my left knee pain which comes from runners knee. My joints don't feel as stiff or painful. These classes have improved my posture, improved my daily motivation, and toned me and I honestly love coming here. They have sooo many classes starting from 6am-8pm on most days except weekends. And it's awesome that u can text them with questions and they reply back. They have 4 locations and u can go to either ones under your plan (Carlsbad, Norwalk, Santa Fe stings, Downey). I love coming after work and on my days off, I wake up for the 530am class and sometimes I attend 2 classes back to back on days off with a few others. Honestly, come to a class and try it out. You'll fall I love with this place like I did. It's my happy, de-strew place. You won't regret it. My fav instructors are Veronica, Rocky and Ashley. Soo much positivism and encouragement from all three and they cheer u on and what to do good in class. And they realize that some of us are at different levels and they tell to take breaks if u need to while in class. I'm giving this place one star due to customer service. When I signed up for membership I clearly stated that I would only be in town for a month. The lady who helped me sign-up stated that I could pay for a month then cancel. To clarify, I ask her if she would just cancel me now after the the month since I needed to give 30 days in which she stated she would take care of it and didn't need to call. Well long story short I was charge a total of 3 times. I called to rectify it, however they only reimbursed me for one month due to having to pay 2 month upfront, which was never mentioned to me. Now why in the world would I sign up for 2 months knowing I wouldn't be there. I felt very taken advantage of and to make thing worse its been weeks since I've heard back from what they'd be able to do. All I was being told was I understand and I'll look into it when getting someone on the phone. Clearly this place just cares about making money and nothing about customer service. Also, they need to educate their staff on sales and giving correct honest upfront information. Ladies and gents, yes gentlemen as well. If you really want a great workout with a great team of instructors this is your place! You will sweat, you will be challenged and you will be amazed at how a low impact workout can really impact your core, your balance and leave you more than just exhilarated when you take on the challenge of getting fit but at your own pace! ( age really doesn't matter here!) Seriously this is the place where when you take your time completing the movements you workout muscles you have no idea you could move or could move! The staff is amazing! Training wise you have a variety of awesome trainers who will guide you and give you tips and help you work through the challenges by addressing your limitations and making you feel like your not alone in this challenge you've taken on. The machines will look intimidating at first but honestly they are exactly what you need but they also have suspension classes, booty workouts and yoga if you want to change it up! Class sizes are small for a reason and this is why I loved it so much. If i was overextended or if I was a bit off point the trainer will come and give a small position adjustment and you're good to go. You have Rene, Melly, Rocky, Ashley, Chrys, Simone, Veronica and Lulu as your guides through a variety of different exercises and techniques that will leave you breathless but accomplished if not slightly sore If my schedule wasn't so unpredictable I would not be leaving but that's not to say they don't have the time slots you need. So , if you want a small place to workout either in Norwalk or Santa fe Springs that will make you feel incredibly comfortable and encourages you to do the best you can and be addressed by your name and with a genuine understanding and warm smile...this is your place.
