Pros: 1- awesome times. I mean they have a 4am class. That's pretty crazy. Apart from sleep or if you work nights you really don't have an excuse to not make it. 2- close to home. I can walk here. 3- friendly staff 4- clean Cons: 1- crowded - oh so crowded. Like 40 people in a class with only one coach. There are a lot of lost looking people without guidance because it's hard for 1 person to give attention to all 40+ people in a room. 2-parking - sucks. Probably because there's 40 people all trying to park at the same time. The coaches are not bad. There's just too many people. I like Daniel's style of coaching. Some of the other coaches talk too much about unnecessary stuff - or maybe to some it's motivation? I don't know. I'm an in and out person and don't want fluff. I've been through a lot of bootcamps and crossfits etc. $150 a month is average I believe. But for $150 a month I expect smaller classes where we all get a little more guidance. Maybe they could add more class times - like a 9pm and 7am to spread out more people or have two coaches in a class. I really wanted to love this place because it's so close to home.... I really just wish it wasn't so crowded.

I love the trainers, the environment, the encouragement and the motivation I feel when I'm there.

Another successful day with the AFF. Lower body day is always the hardest for me. The trainers always make it fun and enjoyable to keep pushing on. With Covid going on the classes are only 35-40 minutes long, which is perfect because it's right before I'm about to pass out lol.

6 weeks ago today, I decided to join The Transformation Camp, after my sis-in-law, Myrna, completed 2+ challenges and was persistent in suggesting I check it out. I attended my first workout as a guest (with the Camp's 3-day pass)... and even before the first 10 minutes were up on my first workout, I had all sorts of emotions/complications (nausea, dizziness, shortness of breath, etc.) I made it through and returned the next few days. After attending orientation and seeing all the inspiring stories and motivated journeys, AND WHILE TAKING ADVANTAGE OF THEIR LIMITED TIME DISCOUNTED PRICE, I did decided to sign up. This challenge was not easy, but it was definitely worth it and I'm glad I didn't do it alone. Shout out to my sis-in-law, Maricruz, who went through it with me. As of today, we are both officially 20lbs lighter !!! A special thanks to my Hubbs for endorsing this project for me AND for helping me get through it - even though sometimes he made it harder than easier but he was always keeping me on check. Also, as a mother of 2, you will always experience the struggle of finding a sitter while you do them EXCERSICES... and for that, I thank my momma, my sis, my dad, cousins, Tia, mother and father-in-law for watching my kids -- YES! total group effort. #EatingHabitsWillMakeOrBreakYou #AFF #FTDImeals #TCDowney #StayFitDontQuit Thank you at The Camp Downey! I'm taking a small break from you... but HARD BODY CHALLENGE, I'm coming for you before the year is up!! ‍

I had my doubts because I do like to eat. But needless to say I had to do something about my weight. So I did something.

So I'm scrolling through Facebook and I come across one of the ads on there for the camp and how they're looking for people to join a challenge and to see if they wanna lose weight. So I've been seeing their ads for a little while so I say to myself "OK, why not?". What if I got to lose? To be honest I'm happy with my body, although I was weighing 278 at the time. And to be honest again, I needed to get more active. I got to tell you the first week of doing the program, I was dog tired and it was tough because I haven't been that active in a long time. My body was hurting, I was so ridiculously sore all over. Icy/Hot and BenGay were my best friends. As the weeks went on I obviously noticed the pounds shed right off. The meal plan was the BIGGEST obstacle I had since I really do like to have a GOOD meal. Meal prep was easy and fun but every time I opened my lunch and dinner I couldn't help but feel sadness. Anyway, the staff are very friendly and motivating. Every time you walk in they pump you up before the work out. Just what I need to get started. I've lost 23lbs for the challenge and yes, I feel great. I'm now a member and plan to lose some more pounds. Thanks to you guys for giving me the kick start.

Hardest workout but great motivation from coaches. Fun atmosphere. P.S. parking can be tough and the back parking lot is full of trash.

That's completely false. There are several restrooms and I've never had to wait. The overall aesthetic of this place is top tier. The equipment is high quality, well maintained, and there's plenty of space to train. The gym is split into two sides and now they even have MAD Pilates, which is a great addition. So far, I haven't had to wait for equipment once. Even when it's busy, I've still been able to get a full workout in without issues. That's a huge difference compared to the gym up the street (Chuze), where you'll often see groups of people camping on the same machine. On weekends I come right when the doors open and it's about as empty as it gets. Perfect way to start the day. One warning though: don't try the peanut butter and jelly shake... unless you want to get hooked. It's that good. The turkey wrap is also a solid option. The staff has been amazing and welcoming since day one. Overall experience so far: 10/10. Highly recommended

The heater being on full blast in the mornings makes it really uncomfortable to work out. The fans are not on, so there's no relief when the heat is running. I mean really how cold can it get in SoCal where the heater needs to be on full blast Also, it would really help if staff wore something identifiable, like a uniform shirt. There have been a few times I wanted to purchase a protein shake, but I couldn't tell who worked there or who to ask for help. Lastly, there have been times when there were no wipes available to clean the machines. Overall, still a great gym, just a few small improvements that would make a big difference! The general manager, Ivan, and the other employees I've interacted with have always been friendly and professional. Unfortunately, today I had my first genuinely negative experience with a newer employee, Ashley. The issue wasn't that I couldn't bring my friend in--I understand gyms have guest policies and I'm not upset about the rule itself. I pay for the highest membership, which includes guest privileges, and I simply asked if the previous guest on my account (someone I only brought once a long time ago and who has his own gym membership elsewhere) could be removed so I could bring a different friend. Instead of explaining the policy professionally, Ashley responded with, "I don't care if you only brought him once. The system resets every 5-6 months." When I looked to see if there was a manager I could speak with, she replied, "I'm the only one here today, so are you gonna pay up or leave?" That response was unnecessarily rude and dismissive. I never raised my voice, argued, or gave any attitude. I was simply asking a question and trying to understand the policy. Ironically, the employee working next to her was extremely polite throughout the interaction and even seemed uncomfortable with how she was speaking to us. I appreciate his professionalism. This isn't the first time Ashley has come across as rude toward me, but I let the previous interactions go. After today, though, I felt it was worth mentioning because customer service matters just as much as enforcing the rules. I've enjoyed being a member here for years, which is why this experience was so disappointing. I'm genuinely considering canceling my membership--not because of the policy, but because of how I was treated.
