I had a new lap top that I needed to migrate the data, folders, contacts etc etc. I just needed my new lap top to have everything like my old lap top. I called on a Saturday, late morning, and asked if they did this type of service and Rain explained that they did. I asked if I brought in right away if I could have it before close of business Saturday because I needed it for work on Monday and I knew they were closed on Sunday. Rain explained that the transfer of data could be quite a few hours depending on how much data I had. Rain said not to worry even if it ran past closing, 4:00PM ( which it did ) that they would stay until all the data, etc would be downloaded. I received a call sometime after 4:00PM and stated that the data had all been transferred. When I arrived Alex the tech that worked on my computer showed me what had been done and where to find my information. It wasn't until Monday morning at work that I discovered that all my contacts in Outlook were not there. 10 years of contact information gone! So I thought. I returned back to the store and Louis another tech immediately went to work and found all my contacts and imported them back to outlook. I appreciate the customer service and the responsiveness for all the work done. Rain's team of techs and knowledge ultimately made the experience much easier to cope with. I'm so grateful for a trustworthy repair place for common people that's not in far-flung Pasadena, Hollywood or Long Beach. The previous management or different owners at this address had a lady who went right for the hard sell and I'm like "nah." I'm glad I kept cruising by and tried again after seeing enough to sense this business changed. These owners/ techs are legit! My 2009 MacBook Pro "17 was incrementally glitching and I'm so glad it acted-up there at eStar Techs on a Friday morning. The tech could have told me that I needed a replacement screen after troubleshooting, but he was honest: it was the connector between the screen and motherboard that was just a bit lose and had some corrosion. A screen replacement was going to be the money suck, but he just cleaned it up so my investment could go towards swapping a messed-up optical drive, swapping a battery that had super high power cycles, and swapping the Hitachi for a SSD to improve speed (therefore responsiveness). It was more than a fair price for parts and labor so to those of us under employed or outright unemployed, paying eStarTechs to extend the life of older devices is a good investment. My first impression of this place was professionalism by the way you are welcome and how clean this shop is, I was impressed. I was welcomed by Rain, she is a wonderful lady and knowleagable about computers too, I proceed to explain my problem which it was a broken laptop screen, she immediately offered me solutions, for example a loaner computer screen until they got my laptop replacement screen, luckly I have a second computer I could use in the mean time. Rain when ahead and gave me an estimate time on how many days until the new screen arrived and she also gave me an estimate on the cost of labor. I had tech builders put together my dream gaming PC for which I had been saving up money for a long time and with the amount of money I was putting into this build I just wasn't comfortable trying to figure out how to put it all together myself as I have never done a pc build myself before. I went to Ubreakifix to get my PS3 fixed but they said they only fix PS4 and 5. They didn't even check to see if it could be easily fixed. That is why I tried eStarTechs in Downey. The Tech was personable and did a diagnostic to determine the issue while I was there. I left the console there and it was fixed in a few days. Before leaving we did a quick test to see that it was working.
