He was polite, wore shoe covers (super important to me), and did his full check. He even answered my inane question about a weird looking part of my unit. I love that they take pics to ensure everything is good and for my own records. My unit is only a 1 1/2 years old so I expect it to stay in top form for a while. The ONLY complaint I have about Love's is getting a maintenance can be a pain. I've had them cancel on me once and I had to rebook for WEEKS later. And they can be booked over a month out. But even after cleaning it out, the smell wasn't going away. Then the vent started giving off either smoke or steam, and in a panic I immediately turned off the dryer. Thank God I didn't start a dryer fire. The second I shut it off and made sure everything was ok, I opened Yelp and searched for a dryer vent cleaner. Chris's Insulation came up, he had great ratings, he was super close by, so after calling a different service and going to voicemail, I called Chris. Chris picked up after the second ring. When I told him that I needed someone to clean our dryer vent and what had happened, he said he could come out either between 5:00 and 6:00 pm that evening or the next day. It was already mid-afternoon when I called, so I was surprised to hear him say he could still come out same-day, but I decided to have him do that since I was free and also still a little shaky following what happened with the vent either smoking or steaming. Chris showed up during the window he quoted and wasted no time getting to work. He started the second he arrived and was done within the hour. His pricing was incredibly reasonable and fair and so far, in the couple of weeks since he was here, we've had no issues with the dryer. Before he left, he also sent us a ton of pictures of what the vent looked like post-cleaning. Super happy and relieved.

DeHart told us we needed a new unit, cost 15K. I decided to get a second opinion, the second opinion fixed our air conditioner for under $600.00, and it still works great to this day. It runs all day right now because I have no attic insulation at the moment. Which leads to my next story . The 2nd time we used them was few months ago. We paid $1,500.00 to have the attic cleaned and prepped for new insulation. Please refer to pictures for DeHart's finished product. What was left in the attic was Rat poison, old shingles, Rodent body, rusty nails, dirty insulation, Rodent poop, etc... I have called and emailed Dehart/Greenhart but have not had my calls returned. I had someone else finish cleaning the attic. I expected better quality. I do not want to invest into new insulation just to have it laid onto filth. I will be hiring someone else to reinstall insulation and clean my ducts. I also won't be calling them in the future when I DO need a new air conditioning unit and tank-less water heater.

Also, because Honey's is contracted through Costco we would get a Costco gift card for a percentage of the price (not worth it). The first step is the salesman comes out and explains all they offer and inspects the units and goes up in the attic to inspect our duct work. He reported that our ducting looks fine and so we proceed. Install goes fine and they gave us a year of free maintenance check ups - 2 times a year - summer & winter. Both free visits the technicians reported no issues, everything working great. GOOD, because it's brand new! Hindsight, our mistake was paying to keep the maintenance plan for the second year because now when each technician comes out they start trying to upsell you. The damn thing was less than 2 years old when the furnace technician tells us we probably need a surge protector installed inside the unit because this area has a lot of power surges, for a ridiculous price. 6 months later the A/C technician tells us our ductwork is too small. HUH? The guy that sold us the system inspected the duct work and said it's absolutely fine. And btw, they will charge you double the price of what an air filter costs. I found the exact filters on amazon and put them in myself. Also, once they gave us a window of say 1-5 when technician would arrive and then called at 5:30 and said they wouldn't be here until 7. 2 other times they cancelled and rescheduled. Our neighbors have since had similar bad experiences with this company and we are all very disappointed and are moving on from them. Would not recommend.

The work was a two day process from cleaning out the existing insulation from the attic and adjusting the ductwork, to sanitizing and air sealing all the cracks inside and outside, and filling with R-49 insulation. From the entrance of the house to the attic access, they spent the time putting down a barrier to prevent any mess to the rest of the house. He was courteous, knowledgeable and professional. Ian is the owner of the company. From my experience with him in this short while , I've learned he is a family man with astounding integrity. Second, I did not contact this company Cal-View Property Inspections casually or without cause. I reached out because there were serious ongoing concerns in my home, involving exposed walls, abnormal air quality, and conditions that affected my family's health and safety. At the time, children were living in the home, and the wall area had remained exposed for an extended period. The inspection was not the cause of the problem. It was conducted because I needed answers about conditions that already existed inside the unit. The inspection helped confirm that mold concerns were present in the air and on surfaces within the home, including in my daughter's bedroom. After the inspection, I pursued code enforcement. That process resulted in multiple code violations being identified, and repairs were required. My family was displaced as a result of the condition of the home, not because of anything this company created. The statements suggesting improper motive or lack of professionalism do not reflect my experience. I hired this company because I needed an independent assessment, and from my experience they were professional, responsive, and helpful during an extremely stressful situation. This company did not create the conditions in my home. They documented them. I am grateful I contacted them.

I strongly recommend Essentra team (Brian, Hector, others) for their professionalism, responsiveness, price for your next HVAC project. Our 20+ year old HVAC system broke down during the holidays and I contacted 5 contractors (3 found through Yelp, one from Costco and one referral). I got quotes from four of them and one didn't show up in time. I had a great experience dealing with Essentra team from the proposal to completion of the project. Although they didn't have too many reviews in Yelp, I decided to give them a try because of their responsiveness. Their quote was a little higher than the lowest quote that got, however Brian's knowledge, professionalism and responsiveness impressed me and I decided with go with them. They also promised that 3 years of labor warranty is included with the install whereas other contractors typically cover 1-2 years of warranty on labor. They got the permits from Fremont city promptly and completed the project in time. Hector and Ivan really did a very good job installing the Furnace, Filtration system, Coil and A/C. They went extra mile to go into my crawl space and attic to ensure that the ducts are in good condition. Two of neighbors looked at the work and they were impressed with it and already contacted for their projects. So don't ignore him because they have only few reviews! Recently my parent's heating system went out. Contacted Essentra and initially spoke to Amber. I explained the issues with my parents' current system (heating system was not working). The whole system was over 30+ years old and it was determined a new system was the right avenue to pursue. Amber was outstanding in listening, understanding and sending someone out to take a look and share their findings with us. Hector (who I believe is the owner) responded and not only gave a very competitive offer, but was also super professional and again outstanding in explaining how they would replace the system, even explaining the minute details of what the job entailed and the thorough review of the process in how they were going to complete the task. My parents are in their 80's and with Amber and Hector's understanding of my parent's limitations, they made sure they understood how the process would go. Their professionalism and communication was nothing less than wonderful. They replaced the AC and Heating systems quickly and efficiently with no issues. I am extremely pleased with the work they performed. My first ever review. We have a 27 year old system that was put in when we bought our house. Never worked right!!! We've had 10+ contractors out over the years to look at it who have either tried to sell us a new system or told us that everything was fine (running a/c all day to get 80 degrees is NOT fine). We were referred to Hector at Essentra by our friend's contractor, and we are so pleased. Lucky enough to have him come out before the recent heat waves. Hector looked at our setup and pointed out several issues as well as steps to fix/improve performance. No high pressure to just replace 27 year old system...just thoroughly explained and quoted repairs. First repair before first heatwave...and what a difference it made. Second repair before this last heat weave, even better....and each day we are so thankful!!!! I was scheduled for my maintenance appointment and John discovered an issue with my split type air conditioner. John and I decided it would be best to replace my unit with an upgraded unit, that included a thermostat and had a longer warranty period. The following morning Jose came to remove the old unit and installed the new unit. He did a great job! While he was working Alex and Gio came by to see how everything was going. Alex put his number in my phone and told me if I had any issues or concerns he would help me with them. The following day Alex and Gio came back to take pictures. Gio checked the unit & made some adjustments. Alex called the office and handled some questions I had about the registration and credit for unused maintenance visit. Brian came to my house to diagnose why my heater was blowing cold air and to generally assess my system. Brian was on time, professional, clean and took the time to answer all my homeowner questions. His work was thorough, he cleaned out the insulation around the unit, and stayed to make sure the system was working correctly before he left. Brian took the time to discuss future projects for my heating/AC needs and gave me a ballpark estimate which will allow me to budget for the future. Had a problem with our air conditioner, working fine one day, wouldn't start the next. Called Essentra, they called back quickly and were able to send someone that afternoon. Rodney arrived earlier than expected. He was able to determine the cause of our problem, a bug caught in the switch contacts... I know, weird!! He took several photos of it to show me that was the problem. Rodney cleaned it out and checked the entire system to make sure it was right. He also made suggestions for other maintenance issues. We scheduled a maintenance visit and Rodney returned and completed the work efficiently. Rodney is friendly, professional and suggested additional services without being pushy. My furnace stopped working, which was not good as I have young kids and temps were in the 40s at night outside. Essentra technicians were able to juggle their schedules to get someone out basically the next day, which was a relief. Essentra- No need to call anyone else. We needed to have seasonal service done to make sure everything was ready for winter use. Brian called 1 hour prior to appointment and was here promptly at my appointment time. He asked a few brief questions and went right to inspecting both units. He serviced our units and did a full cleaning and thankful that he did because he found a lot of insulation near the part where the flames comes out... I will only use Essentra from now on. Our a/c unit was not cooling enough, called essentra and they sent a tech the same day. Rodney was the tech that was sent out and he diagnosed the problem. Rodney is a real professional and knows what he is doing. He explained the system and what was going on, what componet and where it had failed and why it possibly failed. CenCal was the first to get back to me with a $200+ weekend fee. I was like ... well... I waited for a few others but they all said we are available Monday or no response. No way. I called at 8 AM and said come on out and they said they could see me at 12. At 9, the tech calls and says can I come by right now? I'm like, come on in! Cristian had it up and running in a few minutes. It's an almost 40 y/o machine so you have to admire the aged craftsmanship. He sold me on getting a membership. I had given up my home warranty because my appliances are all pretty new except my AC. The AHS was upping my monthly to $70 and that didn't sound sustainable. (They were a pain to cancel too). I wish I had known about this membership prior to me paying $250 for a weekend call. But it was worth it to be cool again. Today someone came out for my maintenance call. He checked my unit over and gave the all clear. Hopeful this membership keeps my unit on life support for a few more. ETA: and I like that they use the shoe covers. I really hate shoes in my house but work must be done! ‍

I recently discovered the rooftop unit had no filter installed inside it -- even though there's a dedicated slot for one. Three months ago, I called to let them know I had already changed the indoor filters myself. I was just being courteous, thinking I was saving them time. Not once did they explain that the rooftop unit also needs a filter -- or that I had options depending on the system's static pressure and setup. That's basic info any professional should offer. What's worse, when I had a second opinion done by a trusted HVAC tech, he found a large tear in the ductwork -- something that likely had been there for years. This company had been called out before to check that very issue, and they failed to catch it. Why? Because they never performed a proper static pressure test or thorough inspection. They just show up, do the bare minimum, and leave -- but still charge full price every time. And in commercial service, they know most people won't question it. This kind of neglect doesn't just waste money -- it shortens your system's lifespan and increases your long-term repair costs. Be careful. Ask the hard questions. Because unless you do, they won't...LOOK ELSEWHERE

Michael the owner even remembered the street names to my parent's house after 3 years! They are super quick to answer calls and come out for an estimate. After getting quotes from 4-5 businesses, they've always been the most reasonable price in the valley and have never tried to upsell us on more than we needed. They've done maintenance, fixes, and even replaced the whole unit (30+ year old home). Our most recent AC issues required a full replacement job, and they were able to do it within 12 hours of our AC breaking. I am very grateful as we've literally had AC companies in the past take our money after "fixing" and then completely ghost us after it broke again a few days later. I appreciate having a reliable person to turn to especially when it gets unbearably hot in the summer and anything can happen in an older home.
