This is the cutest, coziest little coffee shop near Foxbank in Monck's Corner. They have great coffee and great breakfast sandwiches and food. The employees are the sweetest ladies and make sure to sign up for their rewards program.

Turkey and Swiss Croissant because they were out of ham. Flaky and light and loaded with meat!

I needed a delicious breakfast this morning, and for the first time found this place on Ubereats. I was so excited, as I love good coffee and it's even better when someone brings it to me! I usually just drink plain black coffee but I like a Flat White, and theirs is excellent. I never add syrup or sweetener but the Flavor choice was required and I felt fancy today anyway, so I tried their housemade Brown Sugar Cinnamon flavor and it was delicious. Very sweet to me, I will note to use just half the normal amount next time, but it was a tasty treat and got my morning started right. In my typical "One of Everything" style of trying new places, I overordered. I got the Everything Breakfast Bagel Sandwich with added bacon, and it was HUGE and filling! Fresh, fluffy scrambled eggs, wilted spinach (intentionally, not like old spinach), a nice slice of tomato, and a thick schmear of delectable garlic herb cream cheese. Honestly it didn't need the bacon, which was super-thin sliced, so save your $2.50 for something else. This sandwich was so hearty I could only finish half. But now that I have cleaned house, I am ready for the other half, and talking about it is making my mouth water! I ordered the Ham and Swiss Croissant but my driver called and said they had to switch to turkey and Swiss. I sighed and said, "I'll live." and he said, "I figured you would." LOL Anyway it is super-flaky and smelled incredible but I haven't actually tried it yet. From all appearances it is going to be light, crisp, flaky, and again quite filling. It could only be better if it was ham. Apparently that's a bestseller there. Gotta get up pretty early to get that one! This was a delightful way to start my day, and now I'm going to finish my bagel! Yum!

On Minday, August 28, 2023,at approximately 1354 hours, I, Dante G., responded to Essentials Coffee located at 117-A Highway 52, which is located in the jurisdiction of the county of Berkeley and state of South Carolina in reference to lost property. Upon arrival,I entered the business through the outward opening door centrally located on the A-side of the building. It should be noted that there is a second entrance/exit, also outward opening,on the B-side of the building, near the A-B Corner. I made my way to the point of sale, which is centrally located in the business. I was met by the sole employee, who was later identified as the Owner. She gave me a few moments as I struggled between a honey latte and a hazelnut latte, iced (On a previous, non-documented visit, I had experienced the Honey Lavender Latte, Iced). I chose a large honey latte, iced with whipped cream. After a few moments, I was served my drink as I perused a small crate of vinyl. I bought nothing. I sat in a worn, cushioned chair, brown in color, in the interior A-B Corner, allowing me an excellent view back into the cafe. Immediately to my front was a coffee table adorned with a potred plant backed by three wooden chairs, no arms. The sister Corner has a small sofa, two chairs, and a coffee table (Magazines: Time, National Geographic, and an unknown). The latte was above standard with a coffee taste and a follow up of honey. Business was steady but not overwhelming. A Door Dasher was served, as were parents retrieving children, presumably getting out of school. The lost item, my motivation, was not located in the business. I departed with the thought "Smile There Is Coffee" giving me the boost I needed. Maybe it was the caffeine. The business has been here for just over seven (7) years. Additional investigation suggested. End of Report.

We visited essentials coffee for the first time today with an open mind. After reading all of the wonderful reviews, we decided on what to get. I had the everything bagel sandwich and added tomato onion jam (.70cents) and bacon (3 slices $1.75). After receiving my bagel sandwich, I quickly realized I didn't receive the bacon over tomato jam I paid extra for. I asked for it and they gave it on the side, no biggie. Let's try this again, I went to pick up and sandwich and everything slipped out, over and over again. Let's just say my hands were very dirty when I was done. I'm not sure if I would get the everything bagel sandwich again considering it was almost impossible to carat intact and eat. My fiancée got the classic breakfast sandwich and she said it was pretty good! Was not impressed but said it was better than Dunkin so that's good. My honey cold brew was great and I cannot wait to try the cheese and chocolate danishes. The building and area itself is very cute and I love all of the plants. Overall, It was not a great first impression. Everyone has bad days and I'm willing to give this place another try in the future.

Essentials is a much needed coffee shop in Goose Creek. It kind of reminds me of one of those tasty hipster coffee shops you can find New York or even San Francisco! In this instance, I'm using the word hipster as compliment because I couldn't find an all encompassing adjective to describe Essentials vibe and style. Essentials is one of two good coffee joints I've encountered in this area. They have everything you can want in this little boutique. There's some local items for sale, a cute sitting area, stylish tasty coffee and some snacks in case you're hungry. So if you're ever in need of any of those items, or just want a place to hang out, I'd recommend stopping by.

Moment of honesty! I stopped by on my way to Waffle House. I love my Hashbrown Covered, Smothered, and Chunked. The coffee there is less than desired. EC coffee is Great! I stop by and try your Avocado toast!

I was in the mood for local coffee and this cute place hit everything I needed and wanted this morning. The decor is eclectic but it meshes with the ambiance. It has local coffee shop written all over it. Easy tunes from the 1970s wafting in the background add to the easiness. The staff is so sweet and pleasant to interact with. I had no idea this gem has been in Monks Corner for 5 years! (Where have I been??) I got a breakfast sandwich on a croissant with a medium caramel macchiato. My total was $12.00 and it was worth it. Fresh eggs, crusty bread, it was served hot and well presented. The coffee was also piping hot and not overly sweet or bitter, just right! If you are in the area, not in the area please stop by this woman owned, local gem. It will be more than worth it!

Stopped in here on the way home from a not-so-fun experience at the DMV and was definitely in need of a good iced latte. This place is tucked away in a strip mall but don't let that deter you...it's so cute inside! There was one person working while in the shop so if you are a remote worker this might be a good place for you. It was quiet and not very busy (it was 11 am so not a usual coffee time). The staff was friendly and my drink came out quickly. It was a little bit more expensive than expected but I did get oat milk which usually adds some $$. The coffee was good, had to mix it with the ice a little more because it was still warm, but overall it was a solid iced latte :) I will definitely be coming back and definitely want to try some of the baked goods.

Iced Mocha with Whip Cream (Not Blended)

I never thought to see a day that Monks Corner gets a hipster coffee shop. I was in town for winter break and enjoy finding new spots in the area. So I opened the Yelp app, browsed for a coffee shop, and Essentials popped up. I was coming from Goose Creek, so it was a bit of a drive getting here. Essentials is off of 52, snucked away in a spacious, well-kept plaza. Essentials Coffee is hip, quiet, and meets all your basic coffee needs. Definitely a place where you can take it for the Gram, hang out with friends and family, and work quietly too. Wi-Fi is fast and free, and their restroom is gender-neutral, equipped with a baby station. I ordered their iced mocha (not blended) with whip cream, and it was delicious! Make sure to check into Essentials Coffee on the Yelp app so that you can get 25% off on your first coffee! And they have loyalty cards too. Definitely check them out when y'all get the chance!

One…read morething I always appreciate right off the bat is that they offer an outdoor patio that's pet-friendly -- huge bonus for anyone who likes to bring their pup along for coffee runs. This visit was a drive-thru order for us. They did let us know they were pretty busy, which is totally understandable, but I will say the wait was a bit on the longer side before we got our drinks. As for the coffee itself -- my husband ordered a decaf latte with tiramisu syrup, and unfortunately the flavor fell a little flat. He mentioned it tasted very weak overall, and the tiramisu didn't really come through at all. I ordered a decaf latte with cookie dough syrup. Mine was decent -- the coffee itself tasted good -- but similar to his, the syrup flavor didn't quite match what I expected. It didn't really give that cookie-dough taste, just a light sweetness. Price-wise, it came to just under $15 for one medium decaf latte and one large decaf latte with syrups, which feels pretty fair for specialty coffee drinks. Overall, not a bad stop -- especially if you're looking for a pet-friendly coffee spot with a patio -- but I do wish the flavored syrups had been a bit stronger and more true to taste. I'd be open to trying them again and exploring other flavors on the menu.

Another stepped in and asked if we had been helped yet, which we hadn't. Otherwise, it's a great coffee shop in Goose Creek!

I'm on a diet so I had to skip that part but it was confirmation to give it a shot. Pulling up I was curious why it was so barren? Any who, I ordered a Hazelnut latte over the intercom. I pulled up and the people were extremely nice while filling my order. $8.50 before a tip, WOWZA, they must have GREAT Jo. I was the only one in line and 5 minutes passed so I meditated a bit, then roughly 9 minutes I got my coffee. I mean, were they growing the beans in there? The length of time for four people I saw in the store for just me made me curious why it takes so long. I must highly advise be VERY careful pulling out. The restaurant literally sits within a foot of the road, making visibility to pull out sketchy to say the least. This was an odd visit to be sure. After I got situated in the traffic, I went to pull a nice sip of coffee and what's up with the insulators? It says Kudu rather than their name? Very odd. Ok generally I like to do a review with a larger sample size but I'm not around the area so I'm going with what I got. I got the large hot Hazelnut latte and it was average at best. I couldn't even make out the Hazelnut which was the point. Moreover, there wasn't anything distinct or unique characteristics to spark my imagination and lust to return. Just ho hum. Needless to say I wasn't very impressed with my visit but perhaps it was an off day, I'm not sure. Drop by if you have a little time to burn but perhaps try a different coffee or something to eat. I hope your experience is better than mine was, not that it was terrible just unimpressive.
