I will give this place 3 stars ONLY because Ivory made our experience better. Katie greeted us (kind of) at the window but was not to thrilled for whatever reason. We got 3 smoothies & realized 2/3 tasted like nothing. The 2/3 people went back in to ask if they could add some flavor to the smoothie and Katie gave the biggest eye roll/annoyed look but Ivory explained they can't just "add" stuff but she would re make the smoothies. I was at the drive thru waiting very close to an hour and that was only because I asked the person behind me to let me back-up and I left!! When I pulled up there was 1 car at the window, 1 car at the speaker waiting to order, then me. We all remained in the same spot for @ 30 mins when they finally take his order and he pull up. Now I'm at the speaker, I sit there for 10 min before they took my order and I pulled up. I proceed to wait ANOTHER 20 mins, now I'm mad. I got out and ask to backup out of line and left. On 9/10/2025 I ordered at 10:22 and waited at the window for over 20 minutes before driving off without seeing or speaking to anybody!! I don't mind a long wait, but NO ONE said hi or anything to me the whole time I was at the window. I had screaming babies in the car so I just drove off without paying and with no smoothie. I saw one girl in the parking lot on her phone after giving a car that had to pull forward an order and was still texting as she walked back inside! I never leave bad reviews but I was pissed. Slow Service & Long Wait times have turned an enjoyable Friday "Smoothie Run" into a dreaded experience! This location is either under staffed or poorly managed. When customers are standing outside bonding over the long wait times it 's not a good look. After a conversation with the manager she stated that she had recently taken over this location, purchased new blenders and hopes to improve things. this is a lovely place if you want one of them smoothies!!! i am obsessed with their kale and broccoli + the extra coco powder add in! its so good and the busnSUS is extremely great if you are on a diet, or just starving yourself!! i have mainly positive things about this business. The one time that I did have a negative experience was because someone was built in my smoothie or something because it was going down and it was just outright nasty. The second time I had a negative experience was with my straw had snapped in half. I think that I was given a defective straw or something because when they hand me the straw I thought it looked normal except for the fact that it was NOT in the wrapping and it had snapped in half while i was stirring my my smoothie. I was devastated because I couldn't drink my smoothie until I got home by the time i got home it was melted. besides from that, I think that this is extremely well known and should get a five star review. I have changed my mind on this smoothie king. I've been here several times since the bad smoothie and it has improved. I order straight off the menu and don't make any changes. I don't think they use fresh spinach or kale, so that altered my last review. The smoothie I enjoy the most is the Carribean Passion. Tropical and delicious. I also like the strawberry lime. My bf insists on trying every item on the menu and so far there are only two smoothies that were just okay. Great place to get in ice cold drink on a hot day. I'm not a fan of the protein drinks because I think they are way too sweet but promise me a Mangofest and I'm in heaven. I have been a loyal customer of smoothie king for a couple years now. I've had a few issues with smoothies coming out unsatisfactory and I have never had an issue being refunded (as this type of things happen from time to time). Tonight I ordered two chocolate hulks (as I have in the past) with no sugar. They've always turned out fantastic even without the sugar. When the girl at the drive thru handed me our smoothies there was no chocolate in them. She noticed and said she would add the coca to them. We drove off and went home. When we tasted our smoothies they had ZERO flavor and had a chalky texture. We called the store and told them whatever they did to try and fix the smoothies didn't work and they weren't good. The girl told me it was because we asked for no sugar. Which we explained that there was NO flavor. It had absolutely nothing to do with it being unsweet. She put another girl on the phone and we explained the same thing. I asked her if she could just credit the acct for two 20oz smoothies and she said I would have to drive back there tonight with the two bad drinks in order for them to makes us new ones. I told her I had just gotten home and I wasn't going back out tonight. She said that's all she could do for me. I told her no problem give me the name to her manager so I could fix it with him/her. They put me on a 3-4 min hold without saying anything to me and then proceeded to tell me they wouldn't give me the managers name. They weren't allowed to hand out personal information. I am so disappointed in these young girls professionalism and they definitely seem to lack training. I would highly recommend more training (both customer service and preparing smoothies). Only reason I gave it 3 stars is because I've had great experiences in the past. We paid 20 hard earned dollars for a few of the worst smoothies we've ever had and couldn't even drink. They had too much of something in them, we couldn't even tell the difference between the two, the separated right when we got them, not to mention they had us itching half the night with the little bit we did have, and it wasnt allergies because we've had the same ones at a different location with no problems. I attempted to call and tell a manager being we got them to go and were already home, The manager (if it was a manager) told us that we were wrong and that that was just the way they are and we must have allergies, she asked was it busy and describe who was in the window that day, She simply didn't care!! We have never had a problem at the West Ashley or Mt Pleasant locations with drinks or staff! This location at Cane Bay obviously has workers and managers that just do not care about providing their customers with what they pay for nor quality customer service!!! We will never spend money at this location again!!! "People are more likely to share experiences that are bad and rarely share experiences that are good...." Today, I was very hungry and decided to stop at Smoothie King to get me a Mango/Spinach smoothie, I had a long ride ahead to Cross and was not going to have time to stop and get something to eat. After sitting at the drive thru window for about 10 mins, I placed my order for a Mango/Spinach smoothie. After another 10 min wait in line, I pulled up to the drive thru window where the clerk asked did I order a smoothie (she named the name of it) with mango, bananas and spinach and did I have a coupon. I told her no, so she was clearly confused and asked what did I order, I told her I ordered just Mango/Spinach smoothie and I stated, definitely no bananas. When I initially started to drink the smoothie, it taste as if there was some type of powder in it (I figured, for whatever reason she put protein powder of some kind). As I continued to drink the smoothie, I realized that she not only added bananas to the smoothie, she also added peanuts! I am here at this moment thanking God that I do not have a peanut allergy, this could have gone bad in so many ways. I was driving while drinking this smoothie, if I was allergic to peanuts, I could have gone into shock, hit somebody and there could have been some really hurt people on the road or worst dead! If you are not going to listen to your customers when they place an order, perhaps you should upgrade to some type of automated system that allows customers to put it in themselves, it surely could not add anymore time, it took almost 20 mins. I give smoothie king 5 stars because the experience my colleagues & I had there this evening was beyond measures. First, we came in & moved around the seating to fit our astoundingly large group, & there were no words of complaint. We made a rather long line but felt no rush, & moved swiftly through it. The cashier even threw away my receipt. Customer service was top of the line tonight. Did I mention the smoothie? I had a green tea tango w/ mango smoothie, & let me tell ya, it was poppin. Never had a smoothie quite like it before. We even stayed a little past their closing time, & still, no complaints. Female manager was scratching herself underneath her shirt for several minutes while In the kitchen talking to other employees. Employee then pulled her hand out of her shirt and look at what she scratched off then immediately started making drinks. I contacted the manager he advised that there is video of inside the store and he would review and follow up with me within 24 hours. He did not follow up and I reached out roughly 48 hours after the event. He was verbally abusive and called me a liar. He also stated that there was no video of inside the store as he had advised there was yesterday. However did enroll the manager in health classes, but why would you do that if there was no infraction. I believe that once he reviewed the tapes and saw that it was a black customer and a white employee he decided that my complaint did not hold any validity. He also stated that the phone calls are recorded so you should have those to access from his cellular device.
