Great experience and I left his training classes feeling very comfortable with using, operating, storing, and maintaining my home defense firearms. In his training program, he also covers information pertaining to the legal aspects of owning & operating firearms. You can find him through Baxter Firearms Training, but I found him through Always B Training .

Spent the whole day here yesterday for my brother's school's Trap Shooting competition…read more This place is fairly small compared to the other places my brother has shot at it, but it's very clean! Volunteers are everywhere picking up trash and are also very friendly. There is a dog that lives there, her name is BB and she is very old, slow, and small! So watch out when you are driving in to find parking! Haha It's dog friendly and I'm not sure if it's because they held a competition this past weekend, but they have a kitchen and served lunch for $7.

We were all kind of rusty on shooting a shot gun (this was my first time) so Steve, a volunteer took us out and showed us the ropes. He was extremely patient with us and gave us step by step instructions and stayed with us the entire time to make sure we were comfortable. There were quite a few people out shooting. We ended up spending some time chatting with other shooters and everyone was just very helpful and friendly. The best part about this place is that they loan you their guns for free! They also supply ear muffs and shotgun shell bags for you to use at no charge. This was the cheapest fun I've had in a long time. The cost was $6 for the clay pigeons and $7 for a box of shells. The grounds are really pretty and park like. As soon as my shoulder recovers, I'm heading back! They are open Thursday evenings, Saturdays from 9-3 and Sundays from 10-3.

I was referred to Paul & Precision Edge Firearms Training by a co-worker for my CCW training…read more From my initial contact to the end of my CCW course, Paul was professional, knowledgeable and made me feel comfortable. I live in Sac County and had to take the 16 hour course - Paul covered more material than was required and explained things in a way that I understood. He took the time to go over my questions until I had a complete understanding. I was very nervous about qualifying. I had one gun I was familiar with and had shot before and another that I just acquired and had never shot. Paul had a way about him that made me feel at ease out on the range. He was very positive and supportive. He made running through the drills fun - which really helped me relax and be ready to qualify. Thanks to Paul & Precision edge Firearms Training I passed the qualifications for both guns.

My pistol knowledge was already up to par concerning the level of this class, but I attended the…read moreBasic Pistol Course because it is a prerequisite for other NRA classes. Paul is very friendly, did a great job, and provided a welcoming environment. He was very focused on safety, and reinforcing the five basic handgun rules. There were plenty of material to take home which included a Basic Pistol Handbook that makes a great quick reference for anything from safety, how to handle a pistol to cleaning and storing handguns and ammunition. Even though I was the only one to attend the class that day, Paul decided to go through with it anyway, rather than rescheduling it. I was please with that, because it gave me a one on one instruction and allowed him to spend more time with me at the range for the qualification portion of the class.

I love my hometown of San Francisco, don't get me wrong, but one of my gripes with The City is its…read morestrong anti-gun stance. Luckily for me, I've moved to God's land - Placer county, where all day I sing: Home, home on the range, Where the deer and the antelope play, Where seldom is heard a discouraging word, And the skies are not cloudy all day! Also, they like guns up here. They REALLY like their guns up here. The media would like stricter gun laws equal a safer community. Placer county is very pro-gun and wouldn't you know - we have one of the lowest crime rates IN THE NATION. Not just in California, not just on the West Coast, but in the good 'ole U S of A. I have availed myself of such goodness but I must confess, I am not a good shot. I've never received any formal training. I've been to the range many, many times but my idea of a good day a the range is putting holes through the target, not really paying attention to my form or shot groups that I formed, etc. I did, however, want to be more comfortable with my collection of toys and recently decided that I would like the ability to defend myself and my family should the situation ever arise and so I started looking into obtaining my CCW permit. There's so many instructors in this area but one that kept coming up in my searches was STRFI. Josh is the owner and instructor at STRFI, which he does as a hobby and because he loves shooting. He's an Army veteran with lots of experience training troops in all facets of shooting and he also sponsors a team of professional shooters. I was a bit intimidated at first because I thought that with all that experience, he would look down on me as a beginner. But that was TOTALLY not the case. Josh was very patient in teaching me the basics - nonclamenture, types of guns, grip, stances, etc. What I noticed about Josh is that he put himself in the students' shoes. He was teaching us on our level, not his, which made the environment very conducive to learning. He was also very knowledgeable in the Penal Code and removed all the jargon in order to explain it in a way that a layman such as I could understand. His teaching style was very lively and upbeat and full of jokes. It made for a very relaxing class, full of interesting facts. I really did learn a lot during my class time. What really shined though was the range time. After spending 2 hours with Josh, I went from a shot group as big as the State of California to a very tight shot group, even multiple shots through the same hole. If I, a beginner, was able to do that with only 2 hours of range training with Josh, I imagine that an advanced shooter would become a championship level shooter! I give my highest recommendation to Josh and STRFI for your training needs, whether it be for your CCW permit or just overall shooting in general. Thanks again Josh! Can't wait to work with you again!

His training technique is really top notch. It's conversational. You learn so much by just talking. He does follow all the requirements levied by the State of California. But he teaches in such a professional yet informal manner, that the instruction actually sticks with you. His inputs for shooting technique were essential. After his training, I feel very comfortable safely handling and operating a firearm. There will be further training opportunities with Liberty Firearms. And I intend to take those. So if you're looking for firearms training, I'd highly recommend Liberty Firearms. You can't go wrong. And again, I highly recommend Ron Givens as your instructor. I've also taken Liberty Firearms instruction with Jean Pagnone. Again, very very professional. Jean makes you feel comfortable in handling and use of firearms. For any training, style is important. And both Ron and Jean make the instruction effortless and complete. I highly highly recommend both Ron Givens and Jean Pagnone of Liberty Firearms Training

I took Rob Dicks BEA class in October as a pre-requisite to obtain my Bail License. The class…read moreschedule consisted of 3 days of lectures each spanning 8 hours a day. There was a substantial amount of material to go through that could have been better elaborated on, but that would take more than just 3 days of lectures. However, Rob will provide you with important information that is crucial to passing your exam by quickly going through information and having you highlight specific portions of Penal Codes, Title 10, Recovery Information and Bail History that you will need to know prior to taking your examination. You may need to review these sections later on depending on how good your memory is. My experience with the class was good, I thought that Rob talked a bit fast and was just speeding through the material faster than I could memorize things, but I understood that there was no other way of covering all the material without turning this into a class that would last more than 3 days. One thing that I realized once I was taking my exam was that the way that Rob articulated certain points and emphasized certain things were burned into my memory, and that helped me when I was prompted with certain questions. The point is, you should really do your best to pay attention to everything he says, and stay focused during class. I only reviewed the highlighted information in the provided materials once, and never cracked that book open again. You are also provided two study guides which are multiple choice packets (this may change in the future) that cover a good portion of information that is taught during class. I made sure I scored 100% on each study guide, and that I understood the questions and the answers instead of just knowing what the right answer was to each. Doing this was enough for me to pass on my first attempt. Overall, I think the class was great. Rob also did a nice gesture by providing lunch everyday and was open to talking to his students about any concerns they had after class regarding lessons or even curiosities about his line of work. I would recommend anyone seeking a Bail Education class to consider taking Rob Dicks class. Pay attention, and you won't regret it. Pro Tip : Bring a couple good quality highlighters.

Today I finally came in to get information on how to obtain my taser and baton certificate training. He informed me he does not offer that training. On the window outside it clearly states Taser, Baton, handcuff training. Buuuuuuut you don't offer it? Inside has a bail bonds kind of feel, never been inside one but I'm assuming it feels the same. The store owner did inform me he is soon opening an indoor virtual firearms simulator, which is kind of neat. Good training for real life scenarios if you're job requires such training. I don't think I'll be back for any training here, the owner seemed knowledgeable in his field but was highly unorganized and scattered. If you live near Roseville and don't want to travel far, give this place a chance.
