We were on the 2nd floor and the oder was toxic and continuously. My husband was a plumber and said that's raw sewage. I think someone or thing was decomposing. They never fixed the problem only ​tried to cover it up with cheap fragrances. The food was poorly made with the cheapest ingredients. And sparingly rationed small portions out. Always a new foreign cook and high turnover wait staff. When asked for an extra cracker we're denied and either lied to or given an empty promise. No name brands instead of 12oz. Can of Coke we were allowed 6oz. Can of Shasta. We were ready to leave. Two fire alarms due to kitchen smoke. One right after Christmas dinner. Where a few handicap were forced to take the stairway since the very small elevator was closed. The second came at 4:00 in the morning when the cooking crew started. Thank God the fire was maintained. We were mislead and our banking info against our knowledge was taken deliberately under false pretense. This is financial elderly abuse. We were charged 3 times the advertised price. My husband got so sick from eating bad food, I had to take him to the VA Hospital where he recovered from some flu strain. I'm sure OSHA would be interested in the toxicity of the plumbing problem. And, lastly, no free wifi like promised. They have some nerve to take advantage of the elderly. Shame on them for ignoring major issues. The owners are cheapskates and need to be accountable for negligence on the elderly. One last thing, the maid helps herself into other people's apartment when ever she gets nosey. She walked in on me a couple times thinking I wasn't there. She frequented the casino. That makes a lot of sense doesn't it when you have 75-100 people that need fed. So they brought in "caterers"; the first day they had shrimp scampi--only problem was no shrimp so my mom got to eat cold noodles and colder veggies. Then they had shrimp but were told each person could only have two; then they said "oh, you can have more." Only problem is the shrimp was overcooked and so tough my mom barely ate any of it. Tonight when Mom went to dinner they had run out of food and were turning the residents away. Keep in mind that the rent for this facility includes meals. They did have a good general manager but she recently left and within a short time it has gone downhill! The corporate offices, apparently, are somewhere back east and their only goal seems to be taking people's money. Most meals the residents eat from paper plates and paper cups for drinks. They had a small bus to take residents to various places there was an accident with it and so they no longer have the bus and residents were told it was too expensive to repair. In short, if you have a loved one this isn't the place to have them live.

Cleanliness is not a priority for the facility. Ultimately there are plenty of other facilities in the Northern Colorado area with more professionalism to tend to their residents. New Mercer's management team truly does deteriorate towards the bottom rung. Individual managers bicker and fight with other units, fighting over supplies and task delegation. The only one that seems to care is the facility lead who is beyond kind and prioritizes her residents wellbeing above all else.
