I spend three years (and thousands of dollars) at this business. The first year I loved every second of it, but I slowly began to get to know the owner and problems began popping up. Over the next two years, I saw the owner overcharge her personal friends, price gouge her long term clients (including myself), and abuse her employees (financially and emotionally). She is the LEAST professional business owner I have ever encountered. At the tail end of my journey with Live Beyond Limit, she would text me just to insult me- routinely- while I was still supporting her business financially and by bringing in new clientele. Most shockingly, I watched Kate ignore a client while she was suicidal, and after this wonderful girl took her own life, Kate capitalized on her death to promote her business. At this poor girl's "funeral" Kate offered to host, Kate collected donations (that she hasn't used for the purpose they were collected), promoted her business by teaching an intro workshop, and took pictures with my friend's ashes that she immediately posted on social media to advertise her business. At this girl's funeral, Kate never said her name- but she did yield several new clients, which was more important than providing her past client with a respectful funeral. In addition to all the money I spent here, I got this business a magazine spread, donated money, rented chairs for shows, brought in new patrons, and I was still treated so poorly by the owner. This isn't shocking after seeing how she treats her own employees, cutting their wages, deleting their classes without notice, pitting them against each other to try to get them to work for free. After firing one of the managers over text (unprofessional), the studio took a slide, often not having basic necessities available like water, soap in the bathrooms, and the studio became very dirty, with globs of hair floating around the floors and accumulating in the corners alongside the dust bunnies. When there was an infectious disease exposure at the studio, Kate swept it under the rug, not informing everyone who may have been exposed. This was scary and unethical, even more scary because actual disinfectants aren't used frequently. Mats are wiped with "organic" solutions with no actual disinfecting power. I've seen Kate lose long term clients, friends, and employees over the way she treats people. I hoped for the best for a long time, but after (1) the funeral fiasco, which truly broke my heart, (2) seeing Kate charge for my performance at an event I volunteered at and her pocketing the money, and (3) Kate becoming verbally abusive to me and others, despite my continued support of her business, I cannot support this business anymore. I understand everyone's glowing comments about Live Beyond Limit; I loved this studio very much my first year there. However, if you are looking for a long term place to spend your money and grow and build relationships, I would suggest elsewhere. Everyone who spends enough time at Live Beyond Limit leaves. Kate's abusive and unethical tendencies are eventually noticed once you get close enough. If you are interested in yoga, I would go elsewhere and support a business with ethics that benefits the community, rather this dishonest and exploitative business owner. If you want to do aerial, I would encourage you to reach out to instructors individually (Bobby, Drake, Jes, Staza, and Kim are great!) or try one of the other two studios in town. I encourage you not to support someone who capitalizes on someone's suicide and abuses her employees, a pathological liar with no sense of right and wrong. Other businesses offering similar services with classier owners include Vertical Fusion, Lime Light Fitness, and Fractal Tribe Fort Collins. Don't give your money to someone who will eventually take you for every penny you have and spit you out. Coming from someone who spent years at Live Beyond Limit, and who genuinely was passionate about this business for over a year, I could not be more disappointed in the lack of integrity I have seen from the owner. All those good feelings are long gone, replaced with the shock from seeing one individual act so callously with no care for individuals (once she takes your money of course). LivebeyondLimit : The name in its self speaks of intentional creation we CAN create with our mind, spirit and body movements as individuals in this safe happy fun loving community. This community provides each of us the ability to express our inner desires and wants as long as we can individually find the time to dedicate to our practice. I'm not saying you have to come every day, maybe at least once a week and grow by adding on as you find and design your own destiny with all the possibilities this studio provides us to grow with each passing year. I started out practicing here at this particular studio a year ago in November 2014 and kept coming back for more by involving myself in new avenues and new possibilities no other studio can provide like this one has for me. Each teachers unique teaching skills has allowed more openness and awareness in my mind, body and spirit as I come to each class. The part that shines through is how much each teacher genially cares for you and all your differences that makes you who you are. I have bad knees and a spot in my lumbar spine that has kept me in pain for years, and sometimes I think to myself if these activities are even a possibility, but as I increase my practice and my awareness of how to grow I become more able to the possibilities before me and make them into a reality. Each of us have different body injuries or stiff muscles and we each are learning how to isolate each muscle at different rates during yoga classes acknowledged by each teacher. The teachers exceed by assisting you to becoming the best you can be by genital guided yoga, individualized yoga settings, to inversions on the silks and lira, massage, teachings of self massage and so much more than I can put into words. I can't wait to discover more with each passing time I come here to LiveBeyondLimit! Thank you for all of your true self guidance during and between classes with each of us. I truly believe that I am becoming more my true self the more that I spend in this studio. I have less pain, more strength, more awareness of muscle isolations, and my mind feels clear with intentions to work harder towards my hopes and dreams. We had a big trip to Colorado and Wyoming planned. The trip was to include hiking and sight-seeing. We flew into Denver and spent Wednesday and Thursday in the Boulder area. We hiked for a few hours on Thursday. By the time we got to Fort Collins, my already injured right foot was throbbing. I knew about Live Beyond Limit and was planning on checking it out but now I really needed help. My husband and I wanted to see the studio and massage therapy rooms. The place is lovely and serene. We were unable to go into the studio itself because a class was going on but, the whole space creates a peaceful feeling conducive to personal growth. We had hoped to participate in Kate's Stand Up Paddleboard Yoga class later that day. Instruction and equipment rental for only $35 for an hour and a half class. But, my foot was complaining so Kate helped me evalutate my current treatment plan. We decided to forego the class this time around. She spent time evaluating my walk and how I was doing my previously prescribed physical therapy exercises. After observing and evaluating, she showed me little adjustments to make my current regime more effective. She also showed me new stretches and breathing techniques to help me. Kate's philosophy is holistic and healing. She is also extremely knowledgeable. I am an RN, so I appreciate her command of anatomy and physiology. She also practices what she promotes as evidenced by the ease at which she performs the yoga positions she teaches. I wish I lived near Fort Collins! I began my yoga practice with Kate last September when she founded LBL and my life has changed significantly in the last year in a very positive way as a direct benefit of my endeavor. Kate is an amazing and inspirational healer and teacher. She has an amazing zest for life and a very wise soul way beyond her years. Yoga has helped reduce my stress levels significantly and I find myself weaving Kate's teaching into everyday aspects of my life, something I've never been able to do before. LBL is a great studio that is easy to get to with ample parking. The atmosphere of the studio is beautiful, clean and has an organic feel; it's very warm and welcoming. I am one of the older clients at Live Beyond Limits. At 72, I have maintained fitness throughout my life. I started taking the Yin Yoga class and also the Aerial Yoga with Jean on Monday and Friday mornings. Both classes have been amazing for my arthritis and for building strength. Kate, Jean and the LBL community have welcomed me and I have found my place at the studio. She goes above and beyond to ensure that her students have what they need, including modifications for poses, to have a successful practice. Live Beyond Limit puts on wonderful events. The events have target audiences which are advertised in advance. I've enjoyed my time and they have been age-appropriate.
