The studio is super cute right off the Old Firehouse Alley. It had a very welcoming vibe which Jason made even more comfortable by continually telling us that it's ok to be weird and try things. "It's a yoga studio..." :-) I felt right at home. The cues were good for this class of what appeared to be experienced practitioners. However, I still highly recommend this for first timers because of the inviting and comfortable atmosphere here. If it is your first time trying yoga, just let Jason, or any instructor, know and they will definitely be sure to accommodate with more direction and modifications. I loved starting my Sunday here!

Despite not being as knowledgeable as a lot of the yogis there, I never feel judged by them. Even all of their clients are so kind. This place just has amazing energy- it is so warm and welcoming. I will say: the sculpt class is no joke. That was the first one I tried, and I did get through it, but if you're a beginner it's a little insane. I'm happy to know that once I get the hang of things, they have class options that will challenge me that much, though. Kate welcomed me into the community with open arms and gave me the option of trading services for classes because I was unable to work and had little income at the time. I started by attending yin yoga classes and being a spectator at aerial events... Watching what others were able to achieve gave me the strength and support I needed to mentally and physically make it through a very trying time until I was able to have the surgery I'd been waiting for. After surgery I went back to classes and worked my way back to fully enjoy my body and life again. Attending classes, events and volunteering at Live Beyond Limit as well as my relationship with Kate took me in one year from not being able to see my self worth or recognize much reason for continuing my then difficult life to fully embracing and embodying the wonderfu, dynamic and successful person that I am and have always been. There are few words that can express my profound gratitude for this studio, the peace, joy, acceptance and love that is freely given by the teachers, performers, students, Kate and the community she facilitates. Each Lagree class is usually about 45 minutes, but they also offer some 30 minute classes so you can go in and get about your day or longer classes for anyone who really wants to spice things up. GRIT also offers other options like their climbing classes, mat pilates, HIIT, and yoga classes with the membership so it keeps things fresh so you don't feel like you're always just doing Lagree. Don't get me wrong, Lagree will always kick your butt no matter how long you've been practicing, but it's nice to venture out periodically and try something different and GRIT offers a variety of workouts. Most notably, their staff is always kind, friendly, knowledgeable, and welcoming. I've had my membership on and off for a couple years with GRIT and they always are so happy to welcome me back no matter how long it's been. It's always nice to go back and see friendly faces who are happy to see me. Insider tip, they also offer discounted drop-in times on Fridays.
