I recently took my dog here for the first time and I couldn't be happier. He was shedding enough to stuff a mattress and no amount of brushing I did helped. 5 stars isn't enough, they exceeded all my expectations. I have a toddler and thought I couldn't handle bringing two dogs in and watching her (our lives revolve around naps) so we scheduled a mobile groomer who made us wait 3 weeks for an apt. Well fast forward to yesterday less than 24 hours before they were supposed to show up they cancelled. Well I called essential groomers where I always took my dogs before baby and Tim was not only able to fit me in the next day but worked around our nap schedule. Then when I arrived he got my dogs from my car so I didn't have to take my toddler out. All of this made it WAY easier than a mobile groomer, and my dogs are rescues and not the best behaved but they look amazing, smell amazing and their nails are the trimmed the best ever. What can I say about the staff here, they were great! I called them with a need of an emergency appointment. I told them how Petco Santee gave my dog (Ollie) the worst haircut I have ever seen. They didn't realize how bad it was till Ollie came in and I must say, the results are night and day. They were great from the onset assessing Ollie's behavior and getting him very comfortable and guess what, they said he was amazing! Petco told me the reason they gave Ollie such a hideous haircut was because he started to bite... which was interesting for me because he has never shown me any aggressive behavior before. Well the staff here at essential grooming did it the right way and told me Ollie was super sweet the entire time. They're definitely worth the cost knowing they will give the extra attention and love to your dog. My Durango a husky is a rescue. Have had him for 4 months. This was his 2nd trip to Essential Grooming. He has separation anxiety but he was so excited to go in the back. We used them this passed week and was very impressed. I wish I would've found them sooner. We have a pyr/Anatolian cross who was still blowing her winter coat and no matter what we did couldn't get it all. She was a mess and so was our house when she came in. Bastion is roughly 80lbs and doesn't leave our property much as her job is being outside and guarding our livestock. They were kind, compassionate and caring with her as she was a bit nervous. They knew NEVER to shave her because of her cost and she came out looking like a new dog. She no longer had mats, all her undercoat was pulled and she smelled amazing. My 12 year old obese cat was looking a little ragged. Everyone at Essential Grooming was very kind and professional. It was even suggested to me to bring her in early on a certain day so there would be less dogs at that particular time as to not put more stress on the cat. Thought that was very kind. Beverly did an absolutely amazing job and was actually able to even out the clumps of hair that the cat was unable to reach and clean. YEARS! the last 6 months I have been pretty patient with the rudeness and unprofessionalism of Mya, i believe that her is name.. works the front desk are... not only has she left me on hold for 10-15 mins before I hung up but no call back?? If you're busy is it hard to take information? Or how about the monotone when I give information and act as if I am bothering you by making an appt? Like do you NOT want customers? I have tried beyond to be nice to her when I come in but nope met with complete rudeness and attitude like she is straight up ABOVE YOU been going to essential for about 5 years I LOVE THE OWNER but he fails by having Mya run the desk and be there! This is NOT a one time incident this is many many situations over a 6-7 month periods from phone calls to person.... the groomer KRISTIN 15 stars plus!!! Amazing but this review is on front desk..
