Super convenient! My cats claws needed trimmed and they were able to fit in his trimming right away.

I recently took my dog here for the first time and I couldn't be happier. He was shedding enough to stuff a mattress and no amount of brushing I did helped. With the Furminator treatment he is shedding about 80% less. Joshua also turned his talons of dewclaws into harmless little nubs and I am also thankful for that. He came out so soft, shiny and sleek. My dog was happy and loved everyone there and you could tell all the staff are excited to work with animals all day. read more

5 stars isn't enough, they exceeded all my expectations. I have a toddler and thought I couldn't handle bringing two dogs in and watching her (our lives revolve around naps) so we scheduled a mobile groomer who made us wait 3 weeks for an apt. Well fast forward to yesterday less than 24 hours before they were supposed to show up they cancelled. Well I called essential groomers where I always took my dogs before baby and Tim was not only able to fit me in the next day but worked around our nap schedule. Then when I arrived he got my dogs from my car so I didn't have to take my toddler out. All of this made it WAY easier than a mobile groomer, and my dogs are rescues and not the best behaved but they look amazing, smell amazing and their nails are the trimmed the best ever. I am so thankful for them, they made life so much easier for me. read more

What can I say about the staff here, they were great! I called them with a need of an emergency appointment. I told them how Petco Santee gave my dog (Ollie) the worst haircut I have ever seen. They didn't realize how bad it was till Ollie came in and I must say, the results are night and day. They were great from the onset assessing Ollie's behavior and getting him very comfortable and guess what, they said he was amazing! Petco told me the reason they gave Ollie such a hideous haircut was because he started to bite... which was interesting for me because he has never shown me any aggressive behavior before. Well the staff here at essential grooming did it the right way and told me Ollie was super sweet the entire time. They're definitely worth the cost knowing they will give the extra attention and love to your dog. I will definitely be coming back again... for those of you that doubt how bad Ollie's haircut was originally..... just check out the side by side photo!!! read more

Made an appointment for my husky who is going through her annual shedding. They called and said they had a cancellation and I could bring Rosie in early. After roughly 30 minutes they called and said she was ready. She received a "wash & go" and a deshedding. I could not be happier with Essential Grooming! She looks beautiful and they did an amazing job. read more

I used to take my Harley their a few years back and he always came out looking like a primped and primed toy poodle. I had not been back since loosing him, but then I have a Main Coon that needed a wash and nails.... although you do not see a pic of a cat on their banner they did an amazing job on Bojangles... He will be back soon for another kitty make-over. read more

Pat did an amazing job grooming our dog Hanzō. She did just what I requested but better! Cut him short and two weeks later he still looks amazing! Very detailed - between his toes and nails clipped. Couldn't be happier. If we lived in Santee she would be my regular groomer but alas we were only passing through. read more

We used them this passed week and was very impressed. I wish I would've found them sooner. We have a pyr/Anatolian cross who was still blowing her winter coat and no matter what we did couldn't get it all. She was a mess and so was our house when she came in. Bastion is roughly 80lbs and doesn't leave our property much as her job is being outside and guarding our livestock. They were kind, compassionate and caring with her as she was a bit nervous. They knew NEVER to shave her because of her cost and she came out looking like a new dog. She no longer had mats, all her undercoat was pulled and she smelled amazing. Highly recommend them for any of your dogs needs. read more

My Durango a husky is a rescue. Have had him for 4 months. This was his 2nd trip to Essential Grooming. He has separation anxiety but he was so excited to go in the back. They do great work with my Frenchy. Chloe is always in the best hands there. I plan on taking her in tomorrow.

I took my golden retriever, Stitch for rhe first time a few days ago and got a bath and go to test out how he would do with new place/new groomer. He is 7 months old and full of energy, but can be nervous at times. The staff were patient, so nice, very welcoming and I really appreciated that. I will be taking Stitch back for a full groom, spa day session. Cute place and glad I can support small business during this time with our pup. Prices are also reasonable for what they offer! read more

Need a groomer, this is the place to go! Words cannot express my amazing experience at Essential Grooming. My cat was matted so badly that I thought I would need a vet to remove them. Nope! Took him to Essential Grooming. Not only did they get the mats out, they clipped his nails and brushed him. My cat is so feisty and I was really nervous about taking him in. He was a different cat in there and I couldn't believe it. It was because of then! The staff here are amazing. They took excellent care of and loved on him. The shop is clean and I love the set up, unlike any other groomer I have been to. I'd give them 20 stars! Highly recommend! read more

I typically don't come to this particular part of town. Most of life it felt too far away. My kid's favorite groomer from a large, well-known company took a position here a few months ago so we of course followed him here. The staff is so great and the small size of the business has been fantastic for my kid's anxiety issues. If you're looking to shop local and support small business in the community, Essential Grooming is a great place to start. read more

Our terrier mix requires a haircut at least 4 times a year or else she starts clumping. I've tried to groom her myself to save a buck, but it's just not worth the frustration and shabby results. The folks at Essential Grooming do a great job, and Sadie, my sweetie girl, comes out looking cute and smelling great. read more

My 12 year old obese cat was looking a little ragged. Everyone at Essential Grooming was very kind and professional. It was even suggested to me to bring her in early on a certain day so there would be less dogs at that particular time as to not put more stress on the cat. Thought that was very kind. Beverly did an absolutely amazing job and was actually able to even out the clumps of hair that the cat was unable to reach and clean. Beverly also cut her nails and I had never seen her coat look so nice and clean. Highly recommend this business! read more

Best grooming service I've been to! I have a 110lb lab and they have always taken such good care of my big guy!

Coming here for years!! YEARS! the last 6 months I have been pretty patient with the rudeness and unprofessionalism of Mya, i believe that her is name.. works the front desk are... not only has she left me on hold for 10-15 mins before I hung up but no call back?? If you're busy is it hard to take information? Or how about the monotone when I give information and act as if I am bothering you by making an appt? Like do you NOT want customers? I have tried beyond to be nice to her when I come in but nope met with complete rudeness and attitude like she is straight up ABOVE YOU been going to essential for about 5 years I LOVE THE OWNER but he fails by having Mya run the desk and be there! This is NOT a one time incident this is many many situations over a 6-7 month periods from phone calls to person.... the groomer KRISTIN 15 stars plus!!! Amazing but this review is on front desk.. I am writing this review because now a friend came to me being treated like garbage who was the one who referred me to Essential years ago and got the same treatment!! read more
