So after seeing an AMAZING dream catcher design my friend got here I decided to check this place out. Seemed nice enough and the staff was sweet. But sadly to say this was the shortest lasting gel power nail set I've EVER got as it began to chip in a week....? I got gel polish on my toes and because they were not efficient it got on my skin making that come off early as well. A month or so later I decided to go back as they were the best option in the area on short notice and BOY do I regret that! I went at 4:30 because it said online that they were open until 6 I then found out that was wrong from the manager because it was "too hard" to fix it so when I got in they were rushing me to chose from an array of colors I didn't like and once I finally sat down the lady was moving so fast filing/drilling she cut me in the worst way possible out of the 8 years I've been getting my nails done. I told them I waa done I wanted out and they told me to come back the next day and they would "take care of it" They overcharged me for what discount I should have been getting and the manager stayed on the phone the whole time. Nikki does an amazing pedicure and one of the best eyebrow waxes I have ever had. Her attention to detail has me looking like a million bucks! Jimmy is a craftsman with manicures. Every tech in the shop is highly skilled and allows for an luxurious experience. The price point is also highly competitive and one of the cheapest in town. My family and I have been going here for years and we have never had a problem. I have ingrown toenails on my two big toes and instead of getting surgery I come see Nikki one a month and she takes care of them. They always want what is best for your nails- for example, if I wanted solar nails Nikki wouldn't let me get them because they do more damage to your nails than nexgen. Even though solar is more expensive she told me to do nexgen which I thought was very sweet. read more

Stopped by on a Sunday after lunch since it was by the restaurant. Nothing fancy, simple basic nail salon. It was the cheapest in the area when I called around. $22 for a basic pedicure (deluxe and other upgrades were available for $27 and up with hot towels and hot stone options). All the other nail salons on Murphy Rd began at $27 or $28 regularly. They offered water or soda during the pedi. read more

Disappointed. I am a regular customer here for a long time. The guy did a good job on my nails and i never been picky about my pedicure. All the staffs are very good. However, there is a new lady there with a very long hair. I think she is the oldest one. She did my pedicure very fast. She didn't scrub my heels as other people and massage my feet extremely quick. No one there does the job like her. I have never experienced this problem before. My friend also was not happy about that when she got her meni n pedi. I love the entire staff at Essence. Everyone here is beyond sweet and they try their best to ensure you have the best experience. What drew me here since day 1 (wow like 8 years ago??) were their reasonable prices; however quality and care kept me staying. They try their best to remember every face. I honestly feel like I betray them when I go somewhere else to get my nails done and I always end up coming back when some new place (Bc I live an hour away and can't always drive here) botches up my nails. I can rely on quality nails that last. I highly recommend them and I do consider them the best in Murphy. Very friendly and accommodating with my request. Complimentary drinks, and a relaxing atmosphere. No, its not as large as some of the local competitor's in new spaces, but their customer service more than makes up for it. I was really impressed being asked if I wanted my nails done at the same time as my pedicure. Most places just automatically do it. Their prices are competitive. The Deluxe Pedicure for $27 is a STEAL. She took her time and the hot rocks felt awesome. My fingers and toes look great. This is my new go to place. Glad I found it! read more

This is a good place. I did have to wait a while as a walk-in, but they offered me a drink and did paraffin wax as part of my get manicure for $26. The only issue I have is that I didn't really understand Thuy Phan too well as her English isn't very good. I've been going to this salon for quite a few years. Jimmy does fabulous work on my solar nails (the hot wax and massage are GREAT!) and all the girls that have done my pedicures have done an excellent job. I can often stretch a pedicure for 3-4 weeks because the paint doesn't chip. Salon is always clean! read more

on e of the worst places to do your nails. i used to come here for years and it was my favorite. i used to sleep when i get pedicure, but now am like wtf are u doing they dont even clean your foot well and dont massage it at all barely doing their job. i hate this place. i waited for 2 hours bec i thought its the best place to go to after not going there for 2 years but it turned out miserable. i didnt wanna pay that lady but just did and left. ill never go back there again read more
