Essa is a very professional operation. Very pleased with the quality of the work, communication, and fairly priced. Not to mention, just delightful people to deal with! My particular project, the banquette pictured below, was not a simple project...it is curved and has unusual wall mounted backrests that you can see from front and back (through the deck window). It took some thinking and planning for Essa to pull it off so well. Highly recommend! read more

They did a great job putting new foam and other materials inside my cushions. Easy to work with. Good communication.

Good communications, very informative, and took on a unique upholstery job on vintage MCM chairs. They made the effort to source us the desired swatches. While the material source screwed up on my leather color, the chairs looked great. Ehsan offered to happily redo the chairs but I declined as the color variation ended being cool. After a few days the leather started puckering and upon letting Ehsan know, he came to pick them up personally and is sourcing a more aggressive adhesive. All in all, while encountering a few issues, some out of his control and some within his control, Ehsan was very professional and totally stood by his work. read more

After becoming worn and tired from many years of use, a comfy side chair was reclaimed for our daughter's home. Ehsan and Gaia, and the team at eSSa Studios, came to the rescue and helped us find great fabric options. They did an awesome job reupholstering the chair and transforming it into a new focal element in a mid-century modern home. Thorough communication, expert craftsmanship, and timely job completion at a reasonable price made this a highly rewarding project. I certainly recommend eSSa Studios to anyone considering a reupholstering project. read more

My couches are from the 60's, by Madison Furniture Industries in Wisconsin, and I couldn't find anything like them anywhere. So... I started searching for a highly respected upholsterer. Ehsan and team are fantastic. I scheduled about a month out, he guided me on the process, and gave a couple options for purchasing my fabric. I ended up ordering the fabric from West Elm, and his team did an amazing job including some minor repairs while the seats were off. Can't recommend Essa more highly. Great turn around time, and very good pricing. Thank you! Attaching before and after photos. read more

I had a wonderful experience with eSSa studios. They were extremely responsive to my initial inquiry about changing the material inside my sofa cushions. They explained what they needed to do for me, promptly ordered the materials and within a week, my problem was solved and the solution is perfection. In addition to their upholstery skills, and excellent communication, they are a real DELIGHT to work with so I would return again and again. I told Eshan when I left the studio and he and his wife are my new favorite people. I was also happy with the pricing. read more

Ehsan does beautiful work. He is highly responsive, flexible and lovely to do business with. I sourced him to turn a closet into a built-in reading nook. Ehsan is great to work with -- intelligent, exceptionally patient, professional, and highly qualified in his work. The team does an excellent job staying in communication and managing expectations. The reupholstered chair looks fantastic, right down to the refinished fabric buttons. They even honored their original quote, even though the project took extra labor than was anticipated. I initially reached out to several woodworkers/carpenters/furniture designers across Yelp to see if someone could help me with a modification to a piece I already owned (thick oak dining table legs needed shortening), and decided to work with Ehsan because I appreciated how responsive, personable, and detailed he was. Although I didn't work with Ehsan on an original custom piece this time, he was prompt in giving me an estimate and managed to turn around the job in just over a week. I know it's not a normal request that he takes on as he's usually busy with his own custom pieces, so I was glad he accepted and treated my piece with detail and care as if it were his own. He even made sure to sand down the parts altered to match the original design and immediately followed up to see how things were once I brought it home. His studio is convenient to get to if you're in San Francisco (just over the Golden Gate Bridge) and I feel he was both honest and fair with his pricing. I would definitely consider working with Ehsan again for future pieces/projects! Thanks again, eSSa Studios! read more

I used eSSa to reupholster a chair and ottoman that got damaged during a transatlantic move, and they did a great job. The reality is that work like this is never cheap, and this was no exception, but Ehsan was great to work with from start to finish. And at the end of the day, we have a great looking set of pieces. If we ever end up buying a place out here, we'll likely be back for some more custom work. read more

Ehsan is my go to for anything upholstery in the Bay. I first worked with him on a couch no one said they could fix. Ehsan came over and fixed the tear within 15 minutes. Then I had a much larger project for him with reupholstering a 11' x 11' couch in leather. I just got the couch back today and am absolutely in love with it. Ehsan came over multiple times to take a look at the project and address my needs and updated me throughout the entire process. I highly recommend this upholsterer. The leader of the business, Ehsan, is a highly skilled professional with a commitment to quality and an intuitive understanding of aesthetics. I brought him a complex project that involved recovering a chair with a very bold print. Ehsan was able to upholster my piece in a way that prevented the repeat in the fabric from becoming too obvious. He also repaired the cushioning in the seat and made it much more comfortable to sit on. I get more compliments on this chair than any other piece of furniture in my home and I always tell people, "Go to eSSa and ask for Ehsan!" read more

We are VERY pleased with the cushion that Ehsan created. He was very easy and accommodating to work with. His creation was the last piece we needed to complete our renovation. He made the process easy by being able to suggest the type of fabric and the density of the foam that would work best. Also worth mentioning is that it didn't break the bank!! I had 4 careful estimates on fixing these valuable chairs! Ehsan wasn't the highest nor the lowest. I finally chose him because of follow through and the several texts prior to my decision which convinced me he could do an excellent job. He came through and within the 3 week time frame expected. The chairs are great and match perfectly. When meeting him and seeing the studio I felt even more confidence in my choice. When it appeared my puppy had done more damage than anticipated, he was able to make repairs without issue but was careful to document the damage and fix in photos and text. Essa did a fantastic job on our banquette cushion, but what is most noteworthy is the excellent service. We called a few weeks ahead of a party, and not only was Ehsan able to order the matching fabric that we needed, but he rushed it so that it would make it in time for the party. They made it and delivered it to us as a courtesy 2 hours before the party, just so we would have it in time. The cushion is beautiful! I've had the pleasure of speaking to him on a couple of occasions for other projects and he was so nice, so genuine, and so helpful. He even let me take home some of the sample books to let me see the colors in our home. I will go to Essa for all of our custom furniture and upholstery needs! read more
