They made our 40 year old sectional sofa look better than a new one.

We hired Leo to reupholster our large sectional that was purchased new in 1984. The result is a perfect testimony as to why reupholstering can cost as much, if not more, than new, solid wood framed furniture. They did such a beautiful job. I've actually been lifting the seat cushions to show people how detailed the work is under the cushions and around the frame! The sectional was reupholstered very well by another company about 20 years ago and we're confident that this version will last just as long. Leo's was not our lowest quote, but I'm glad we went with them. I like that he is a second generation upholsterer and his father still works with him. Pick up and delivery was easy. He came over and looked at the fabric sample we had already chosen, to confirm it would work. And he brought foam samples that day so we could select the thickness and stiffness for the new cushions. He helped us understand a lot about our options, the process, and how to care for our "new" sectional. The job took slightly less than the estimated 5 weeks and he communicated with us as needed. We recommend Leo and would hire them again.

I got 6 different quotes on reupholstery work for 4 danish modern chairs that I was gifted from my grandmother. Most of the quotes were relatively comparable to Leo's but what stood out most about my interaction with Leo was how engaged, informative, and honest he was. He suggested which materials would be best for what we needed and even suggested where to go for fabric. He was so responsive, so helpful, and incredibly kind. Once delivered the chairs and fabric he did the job within the planned timeframe and went above and beyond to ensure the end result was something he was proud of. We are happier than we even imagined with these chairs now thanks to Leo and can't wait to bring him more projects! I enthusiastically recommend working with him!

Leo was so great from start to finish! He gave us a quote for replacing foam inserts in our couch cushions, and was very responsive to questions. He completed the job in estimated time, very fair price for the quality of work. Our couch now looks better than new!

Had our dinette chairs reupholstered by Leo's Upholstery. They did a very disappointing subpar job. The new material he used was fine but the cushions were uneven and the chairs actually have missing screws underneath on the seats and scratches on the paint. A screw used on the back had a sharp tip which we could feel when we leaned back on it. If you have furniture you care about, we don't recommend using this company.

Leo and his dad did a beautiful job recovering our window seat cushions-they are spectacular and beautifully fit the space.

Leo has a great eye for fabric and is such a good human. He really cares about delivering an excellent customer experience. Highly recommend them! The quality is 100% work the money-and their price was very fair. Don't skimp on upholstery - work with people who pay attention to the details. Thanks Leo!

I have a dining room set that belonged to my great aunt. She'd be about 100 if she were still alive. That tells you how old this set it. She and her husband bought it new when they were first married about a million years ago. Until I found Leo, the chairs were still original. They fabric was a hideous gold/yellow color, the cushions were flatter than flat, and the caning on the back was worn and coming apart on some of the chairs. Honestly, I thought this dining room set was the most old fashioned, ugly, heavy, outdated monstrosity that I had ever seen. I called Leo after a few heavy discussions with my husband. Neither of us could stand this set any longer. I was tinkering with the idea of trying to sell it.. but who would want such hideous things in their house? Enter Leo. On the phone I told him what I had and liked things that were "rich chocolate brown" and easy to keep clean. The next day, he promptly arrived at my house with a few books of sample fabric and he had exactly what I had in mind. He was quick to tell me all about the chairs, how they don't make them like this anymore and how if he were to sell them in his shop, they would sell for about $500 a piece after they were fixed. WHAT? Suddenly that old hideous stuff wasn't so bad. I picked out the fabric and Leo explained step by step what he would be doing to the chairs. He whisked the chairs away to do some magic. About two weeks later, I could not believe my eyes. How could these be the same chairs? Really?? They went from horridly outdated ugly rags to gorgeous and beautiful! The craftsman ship and care that went into the work Leo did was first class all the way. It's been a few months now. The chairs still look just as new as the day he finished working on them. They are lovely and he did excellent work! See the before and after pictures to see what I mean!

I had this idea that I would reupholster four casual chair cushions on my own so I went to Leo's to find fabric. I needed something that would be durable for future kids (wear and tear) and still look nice -- he had just what I needed in a sturdy vinyl material. The fabric was cut and rolled up for me, I paid a fair price and off I went. Fast forward a few months later where I now realize that there's no way I can do this as a first-time furniture project. I don't have the tools and I'm out of time. I head back to Leo's with my four cushions + the fabric, and the older and younger Leo were fabulous! They gave me a quote for the labor and foam and they said the cushions would be ready by the end of the week....they were ready a day ahead of schedule and the results are great (see photo I added). I went home and screwed the new cushions back onto the seat -- perfect. My reason for five stars: I love that this is a family-owned business, the work was timely, the prices are fair and the quality is excellent. Also, the result exceeded my expectations.

Had the best experience with Leo's upholstery! I had purchased an outdoor wooden couch from pottery barn and made it into a living room couch. I've spent so much money buying cheaply made pottery barn cushions since no other cushions were made in the size I needed. Well Leo did his magic and created the most comfortable cushions for my two couches! So happy with my new cushions!

I acquired two chairs and a footstool from my mother's home. They were so tattered and sad that I couldn't use them, but I wanted to! My carved rose desk chair from my college years in the 1960's and mom's Sears hinged-seat sewing chair mean a lot to me. And the footstool with straw padding was old when mom got it. Leo's Upholstery brought them back to life and restored their dignity. Leo and his father are skilled craftsmen who know furniture history as well. I now have high quality furniture from my youth that I can use which bring me joy! You can trust leaving your valued furniture with Leo's Upholstery!

Larry does truly top-notch work and clearly takes a lot of pride in what he does. I came in to ask about my convertible soft top, and he didn't just rush me out the door -- he took his time, explained everything in detail, and gave me extremely helpful and informative advice. You can tell he really knows his craft and has years of experience. He also gave me one heck of a deal repairing my S2000 seats! What I really appreciated was that he gave me different ideas and options specifically to help save me money. It was very clear he was watching out for my budget and not just trying to upsell me. That level of honesty is rare these days, and I truly appreciate quality workmanship combined with genuine honesty. On top of that, Larry is just a genuinely kind-hearted person and a pleasure to talk to. It's rare to find someone who is not only highly skilled but also honest, patient, and truly cares about helping customers make the right decisions. If you need upholstery work, convertible top work, or seat repair -- Larry is the guy to go to. Highly, highly recommend. 5 stars all the way!

It is hard to find a great upholstery shop. We last went to a European Master Craftsman years ago…read morein Lafayette but he retired. Lucky for us because 15 years ago he was 1-1/2 times more expensive than what we paid recently at a different shop for better quality material and similar craftsmanship. We found Tri-Valley Upholstery (TVU) in Pleasanton after searching and doing some research. My wife reached out via e-mail to inquire about the work we needed and later followed up with pictures. Tri-Valley gave us an estimate and we scheduled an appointment to bring in one chair for evaluation and finalized specifics. We met with Eduardo who was very helpful, energic and enthusiastic. We picked out the material, received a sample, approved the material and scheduled the project. TVU did a beautiful job on reupholstering 6 chairs with a really nice piece of leather. Seats are taunt, tucked perfectly around the chair backs and the bead is spot on. There was a real minor tweak on 3 chairs that TVU took care of quickly. Dropped the chairs off and the next morning they were completed. Eduardo and his team are talented, very responsive, knowledgeable and produce quality work to make customers happy. If you need something reupholstered, give Tri-Valley Upholstery a try. You won't be disappointed and they are priced well.
