If I could give zero stars, I would. I called to check on my order after a month of no contact, and was told my chairs were ready "a long time ago" and that they "tried to call." First lie. Then I arrived and and while they were bringing out the two dining chairs I had reupholstered I asked them to remind me of the price. He said, "didn't we discuss price? What was it?" I said we had discussed it but that I had forgotten and didn't he write it down? No response. They brought out the chairs. Only the seats were reupholstered in a color that completely clashed with the back of the chair that had NOT been reupholstered. I was told "I asked for that." What?? Second lie. He kept repeating that this is what I wanted until I got so frustrated I paid him and left. Never going back here for anything. Awful experience. So so rude. read more

Beyond awful--stay away!! Paid $400 for 8 chair cushions (for which we already had the fabric). The cushions had to be redone several times and STILL were poorly done and stapled together!! Non-existent customer service. Owner charged us for new filler but simply used our old filler until we noticed and complained. He told us they be ready a certain date, then multiple trips there were in vain -- the cushions weren't ready and he was rude and unapologetic. Can't believe he's still in business. Total nightmare experience -- we finally simply gave up. read more

Truly hopeless. Left a dining chair to be re-upholstered. Said a few days. A week later I called and they had no recollection of my chair. Ended up going back to the shop to find my chair thrown in the back of the shop piled on other stuff. No care or concern for my item, and they 'forgot' to do the job. They couldn't care less. Incompetence raised to an art form. Did not do what was requested and paid for (did it wrong). This is because he didn't write down the details of the job. Had he Diane so he might not have forgotten what we requested.Did not call to let us know the job was complete. Gave a not helpful suggestion of how to correct his error. When items were brought in to have a correction made, they didn't even do that correctly. Balance convenience and price against quality and reliability. Maybe have him explain back to you the exact job details rather than accepting that when he nods his head and says "yes, yes" he knows and understands what to do. read more

Ahmet was referred to me by an interior decorator and after receiving 3 other quotes, I decided to have Ahmet upholster 2 chairs that had been in my family. Despite the other reviews, Ahmet was (so) quick - from the time the fabric was delivered to his shop, he turned 2 chairs around in 2ish weeks. My fabric deliver was delayed and Ahmet was totally cool hanging onto the chairs for a month before the fabric arrived to his shop! He did an amazing job and matched the pattern - all sides match not just the front. (Yes, I did ask to make sure this would happen and told him it was important.) Terrible Service, they make promises they don't keep. It took months for them to make a bench & the only way they finialy finished it was because I went by the shop on a dailey basis. In fact when the bench for the sofa was delivered it still needed work and they still promised to finish it after every call only they never came by after promising to and never even called to say they couldn't come by. They lie every day. This whole project has gone on for nearly 6 months now & they still have not completed the job. read more

I had some back sofa cushions that had collapsed and wanted more stuffing put in. But when I got them back from AAA, the stuffing had all been replaced with stiff foam, which left a gap between the seat cushions and the back cushions (hard to explain; I showed Ahmet pictures). He didn't seem much concerned but said he would replace the foam he had used. I made many fruitless trips to pick them up. When they were at last done -- and I paid more for supposedly different foam -- I could not tell the difference from the first version. I finally just laid foam under the seat cushions to lift them up to meet the back cushions. They also lost the fabric I had tried to cover one of the cushions with. The upholstery work here may be great, but this experience was not enjoyable. read more

Amazing!! I'm so impressed with the job done on my pillow top ottoman!! It was a gift to my daughter and meant a lot to me. I had planned on doing it myself; but after hours of planning how to do it, I handed it over to Amed. The job was too difficult for me i.e.: matching the pattern designs perfectly, cutting in to attach the fixed pillow top, and avoiding any wrinkles. Thank goodness I didn't do it myself!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks to Amed and AAA, our 10 year old, cat shredded couch and chairs have a beautiful new life! We had labored over this project for months, trying to decide on fabrics, following up on friends referrals to different designers and re-upholsterers. Then by chance we walked into AAA in San Rafael and met Amed. He was clearly the most knowledgable, experienced and personable vendor we had met in a long time. Where we had waited for communications from others, Amed was in our living room the very next day (Sat). We discussed fabrics, style, enhancements -- all to my wife's delight as everything he mentioned was on her wish list for improving the look and durability of our furniture. Amed put in a lot of effort to ensure we got the fabric we wanted and helped immensely with the choice of color. The best part? -- He picked up all three pieces on Friday, Dec 14th and had everything completed and back in our living room on Sat Dec 22nd! We were amazed and thrilled esp. since Christmas dinner was at our house!! Thank you so much Amed, Ish, Don and all at AAA for going well beyond our expectations. These guys have been in business for years. They do quality work , reasonably priced too. The only drawback is that Ismail (the owner) has so much word of mouth referral work that he sometimes overpromises his customers leaving a promised reupholstery time of 2 weeks drag on to 5-6 weeks so you have to stay on them. His help is old time restorers whom sometimes drag it out too or have personal distractions that take away their focus in finishing the job in a timely manner. -If getting your item returned isn't an urgent matter please do do business with him. read more
