A Balanced Yogi offers a variety of classes for all levels, both heated and not heated. On occasion, they even have some fun experiential/learning offerings for nominal extra fee. The instructors are kind and knowledgeable and offer top notch guidance and insight. The studio is clean, calm, and stocked with equipment. I am so grateful to have found this gem. (A couple years ago, I made the difficult decision to part ways with another studio (a bougie, corporate, chain get-down - you all know the place) because it was too darn expensive. I was worried then that I'd never find similar quality elsewhere. I was SO wrong. A Balanced Yogi offered REAL yoga classes (not "gym" yoga), and they had an affordable, fair package that I was comfortable signing up for.) Sadly, I must part ways again - but for logistical reasons this time. This studio did not make me jump through hoops to cancel - in fact Tyler wished me the best and even offered a couple extra classes at no charge as a parting gift. It was a simple, honest transaction. Start to finish, A Balanced Yogi checks all the boxes.

I started doing yoga with Rose atop Mt Helix a few years back. I was 40 lbs overweight, unable to…read morereach my toes or support my weight in a "downward dog." Within a few weeks, I was moving more easily, which in turn helped me slowly lose that weight. Practicing out of doors, in such a beautiful spot, lifted my spirits each time I went, making it a pleasure instead of a chore. It is the only workout that has ever left me feeling energized instead of drained. Recently, my husband agreed to having a private session once a week in our home. In addition to easing his chronic back pain, it has become a way to bring us closer, the physical practice of breathing together, balancing together and cooperating in our workout translating into a more natural cooperation in everything else. Better than therapy, if you ask me! Thank you, Rose, for adding so much good to our lives.

I've always been nervous starting something new -- that feeling of being the only one who doesn't know what they're doing -- but our instructor, Sahar, completely put that to rest from the moment I walked in. The 50-minute reformer class was challenging but totally manageable for a beginner and for somehow who isn't done any exercise in over 5 years. She was friendly, patient, and genuinely funny, keeping the whole class talking and laughing -- which of course made the time fly by. She made sure everyone felt included, and I never felt out of place or behind. I injured my shoulder earlier this year and when she saw me struggling she came and helped me modify what we were doing so that I could do it safely. The studio itself is clean, easy to find, and parking is a breeze. They have grippy socks you can buy there if you don't have any, that's what I did my first class. I was a sore for a few days but in the best way possible, and I liked it so much I've already gone back a couple times. My only wish is that she had more morning class options throughout the week. If you've been on the fence about trying Pilates, go for it. You're in great hands, especially if you schedule a class with Sahar.

Andrew is hands-down the best Pilates teacher in San Diego!!!…read more I've been training with Andrew for seven months now, and it's honestly one of the best things I've ever done for myself. From day one, he's made me feel supported, seen, and capable of so much more than I thought possible. I'll ask him to show me how to do a move and somehow ~ just like that ~ he breaks it down so clearly that I actually get it. He's a gifted teacher, a natural coach, and one of the most uplifting humans you'll ever meet. If you're even thinking about starting Pilates, this is your sign: go with Andrew. And yes, this goes for both women and men (hello, even pro athletes are doing Pilates now ~ and Andrew's that guy). He doesn't just lead a class ~ he tunes into the room, gives the most intuitive hands-on adjustments, and makes these tiny, perfect tweaks that completely transform your practice. It's wild how much of a difference it makes. And the vibe? So good. You feel like the only person in the room when he's working with you. There's a gentleness to his approach, but he still pushes you in the best way ~ kindly, consistently, and with that quiet confidence that makes you believe in yourself too. When I started in January 2025, I was a total mess ~ no core, no strength, no flexibility, and a knee injury that made kneeling impossible. Now? I'm doing things with my body I never imagined ~ including kneeling on both knees. And I'm just getting started. Andrew has me feeling strong, more tuned in, and connected to my body in a way I haven't felt in years. I can't wait to see what kind of magic he works on me by next summer. Truly, Andrew is the kind of trainer who changes everything. Check out his schedule on Instagram: @19mostdope You'll be so glad you did.

It's as if a water station is not a normal thing at a work out studio so I don't understand the attitude in the response. They probably wanted me to buy their water which I can understand, however it was the attitude given to me that bothered me. I took a break outside of the class and there were other girls outside taking a break as well, indicating that they had empty water bottles and the heat was too much for them but they didn't have any water. I gave more stars than I wanted because of the instructor, Sam. She was so nice and accommodating and I loved her energy. She checked in on the people taking breaks, I appreciated her teaching the class!

She acted as if I had a contagious disease. I completely understand the need for caution and specialized training when it comes to prenatal fitness, but I was never told that I needed any kind of prerequisites prior to my class. To yell "oh fuck" roll her eyes and walked away from me without explanation or sensitivity, felt discriminatory and insensitive. It was a moment that made me feel excluded and unwelcome, at a time when feeling strong and supported is more important than ever. I sincerely hope the studio reconsiders or at least trains its staff to handle such situations with more empathy and professionalism. Expecting mothers deserve to be treated with respect, not as liabilities.

The workout was amazing, that is probably the only positive about my experience here. It was a full body workout, which is exactly what I was looking for. Unfortunately, there was absolutely NO customer service, acknowledgment, greeting, NOTHING! When going to a new gym or studio there is a an initial conversation or greeting some type of acknowledgment - not a thing! I was even spoken to upon me walking in, I actually did all the speaking. As someone that works out often - I am so grateful that I know how to modify and adjust for my body because the instructor did not even ask me if I had any previous injuries, if I had anything that was bothering me, didn't even acknowledge me as being someone new in her class. I am only giving a 2-star rating because I truly appreciated the workout, as yoga sculpt is something that I really wanted to try out for a while. I attended their monday evening oneness blessing many years ago, and my boyfriend and his mom suggested we go (i mean it had been so long..and why!?) yesterday, but we were not sure they still had it on monday nights. We arrived at 7 pm to find Katherine (the gentle soul who does the blessings) leaving, with the parking lot empty. We were so sad until she let us know that she was heading over to the golden hills community center where they hold the blessing every other week. We raced over there just in time. The blessing consists of a short centering meditation followed by approximately 1.5 hours of the people conducting the blessings laying their hands over your head. After this you lie down and take in the blessing. It was a wonderful experience, and everyone there was so welcoming and inviting. I am not sure why I haven't been in many years. It is amazing that this is free, and that people donate their time to essentially give all their energy and healing to you for 2 straight hours. I am so happy that this place exsists. I hear they have a lovely gift shop with many amazing crystal specimens and yoga also. I have been looking for a place to do yoga, and this may be the place!
