This YB is a nice location because it's in a strip mall so you actually have a shot at parking. This was the studio where I had my first power vinyasa class and the staff were all really nice and welcoming. They even gave us a welcome goody bag with lollipops and a towel. The class itself was pretty challenging but it still felt great. I would say the instructor did seem newer because the cues were pretty off and a lot of people were confused, but other than that it was a great class. read more

I did yoga sculpt and it was a solid workout. The studio is located in a busy strip mall so parking can be limited. Check in is easy with the tablet on the front and there is a sign outside the room telling you what equipment you need. It looks like the weights for class vary from 2-20lbs. This isn't factored in my rating but I just don't think yoga sculpt is my jam, although I love yoga. There wasn't enough weight to make it a strength class and not enough yoga to enjoy the flexibility from the heated room. I don't if I'd do jumping jacks/ high knees in 91 degrees willingly again lol. Just felt like twice the sweat for half the workout to me, but I know I have the dissenting opinion bc most I know really enjoy this workout format. The instructor at the beginning talked about offering hands-on adjustments but I didn't see her do any even when it was a smaller class. I think my biggest hangup is that people don't clean the equipment when putting it away. When you're working with weights in a heated room you SWEAT all over them. There's a few cleaning bottles by the bathroom but paper towels were scarce and most people haphazardly tossed their weights back on the rack without a wipe down. That in combination with the room humidity just seems like a breeding ground for bacteria read more

Yoga box has a first 3 class free and I definitely took advantage of it. It's a good way to try the different class they offer within 10 days from your first booked class. The recovery restore was a good intro class into understanding the vibes of the studio without the pressure or movement poses or the intense heat. It helps relax and get a good stretch. The power vinyasa was a great way to get sweaty ! It's like working out in a sauna. We were doing yoga poses/movements but the heat makes it intense. I stopped halfway through and felt comfortable doing so as the instructor Candice told me to do so since it was my first time. Everyone around me was helping and welcoming. Definitely bring water to stay hydrated. I was sweating so much it was getting into my eyes and my yoga mat was slippery. I felt sore 2 days after in a good way. Definitely will be a must go for me, I'll be coming back. read more

I'm so glad I went, because not only did I get the practice my body and mind needed, Arielle's soothing voice, music choice and encouraging words took the practice to the next level. I started doing yoga in 2022 and it was a slow flow weekly get together at the beach, nothing crazy more just being present and mindful until my instructor moved away. I was sooo hesitant to join a real studio but I'm so grateful I joined this one! I love the heated experience, as well as the strength, flexibility and mobility challenge. YogaBox is a great studio! I have the Classpass app, so I use those credits to book, my most recent class was 6 credits. Self check-in is always super easy at the iPad at the front. This location is tucked in the corner of the Vons plaza right next door to Yogurtland. It's a small studio that fits ~30 people comfortably. My class was full but I didn't feel crammed. It is hot yoga so I was definitely sweating but the heat was manageable. I took a Wednesday evening power flow vinyasa class with Arielle. She was a great instructor and had such a soothing voice! The class had a nice pace where we took our time with the poses at the beginning to build up to the peak pose. Some moves might be confusing if you have never done them but there were plenty in the class who knew the moves. It is a great class to challenge your balance and I enjoyed that it wasn;t super fast paced. Overall, would return to this studio! read more

Parking can be really difficult in the area, so just beware if you're coming at a popular time, especially on Thursdays when the farmer's market takes place. Yoga Box gets hot hot hot! Be prepared to be sweaty. They offer sculpt and power flow classes most regularly and sometimes have restore available. They also offer different special classes each month with fun themes or focuses. I absolutely love the College Area Yoga Box studio. I started with a free trial with a few of my girlfriends and got hooked, now I'm doing a few classes a week with my unlimited monthly membership. At first the cost scared me a little, but personally it's so worth it to work out with such an amazing group of people. I love the moody lighting and upbeat music and the way the teachers talk you through the workout. I always leave in such good spirits about my workout, my day, and the rest of my week. I've been to a few different instructors and they were awesome, though my fav is Rhiannon. She has been so sweet and even reached out to me and my girls after our first class to let us know how much she enjoyed having us. It's my favorite YogaBox studio. I am absolutely happy with Sculpt Yoga classes they conduct. The studio has all kinds of weights, blocks, stretching tools. It's very clean there, everything is well taken care. Teachers are amazing, so strong and good at what they do. Don't get scared with the temperature marks, it fells hot when you just walk in the room, but later it feels normal. I found this studio through Class Pass, and continue taking classes with it. It'a more motivating with the instructors and a room full of people vs going to the gym alone. I like the yoga sculpt because it's a full body workout. The room is warm but not unbearable hot like a sauna. Since I've started along with eating healthy, I've already noticed some weight loss. I'm about 2 months in here at the college area yoga box and I love it! I've never done yoga before and was pretty intimidated but the instructors are great you can definitely go at your pace. After 2 weeks I could notice getting stronger and I love that it's hot yoga. They have mats & towels if you forget yours or if you want to try out yoga before buying the gear. There are so many benefits to yoga alone but hot yoga really helps sweat out all those toxins! Really enjoying this studio. I think I've tried all the local Yoga Box studios and this new one is definitely up to their high standards! First of all, it's so easy to get to and park at. That's worth a lot. There's not much to say about this location that you can't say about all of their other boxes! Clean facility. Nice lockers. Music is good. Teachers mics always seem to work. Lighting is well done and reliable. Quality of instructors is really great. Class structure seems to vary by instructor, so give yourself a few classes to find what you like! My roommate signed up as well, but he was skeptical at first. After the first couple of classes he wasn't sure it was the right fit. Once he found the instructors he liked he signed up for the unlimited membership. Very, very, unofficial demographics information. I'm usually one of two guys in this studio. I've seen more guys in the other studios on average. I will say the instructors have always made me feel super welcome and are really friendly. As a guy going to a predominately female class, it's normal to feel a little uncomfortable like you might be intruding or something. The instructors are really crucial in ameliorating that anxiety - and I've had really amazing experiences with every instructor at Yoga Box! This studio can get hot - which is what I like. It's teacher dependent though. Definitely very Covid/pandemic safe. Masks are required. Instructors clean everything between classes. This is a little extra, but if I had one request of the owners it would be a better indication of what temps to expect. Maybe part of the app? It doesn't seem standardized between different boxes and instructors. Which is totally cool we need variety, it would just be good to know when signing up. read more

I've been practicing hot yoga for years and I decided to try Yoga Box since it's on ClassPass and very close to my house. When I arrived at the studio there was no one at the front desk and I wasn't sure if I was supposed to fill anything out or if I was allowed to enter the studio yet. I stood awkwardly in the lobby until another student came and let themselves into the studio, so I followed. The teacher never came out to the lobby, which was a bit confusing since I was new and didn't know where to go or what to do, but not a huge issue. I also wish I could've secured my items away, the lockers do not lock. I took the heated vinyasa flow class which started fine, but the teacher kept dropping f-bombs (and other swear words) in class as it progressed. I don't really mind swearing, but it's just not really what I would consider a relaxing or encouraging choice for a vinyasa class. I also found some of their hands-on assists to be awkward (definitely NOT crossing into inappropriate territory, but they just didn't feel supportive and broke my concentration instead of helping me deepen into the poses). The sequence was fine but nothing amazing. Overall, the teacher had a vibe that made me a bit uncomfortable and I would not want to take the class again. There are so many great reviews for here, I'm honestly hoping I just had an off experience. I would maybe consider trying a different instructor, but overall I think there are a lot of better options for vinyasa classes in San Diego. read more

i have never done yoga before, let alone hot yoga. my coworker recommended this place and i went to a class with her. the location is really nice, the instructors are super motivating, and the vibes were just overall really good. i've been to three classes and have enjoyed all of them. i love the power flow classes so far and can't wait to try the other available classes. i've invited different coworkers to go with me, and friends. so it is a good place where you can go with your friends. i'm only 18 and haven't worked out much since quarantine kicked in and this has been part of getting back into shape. also love how there are all ages and all different types of people there. 10/10!! totally gonna go again. read more

The teachers make you feel seen, provide individual coaching in every class and make modifying easy (I have a bad back and have to modify quite a bit). I'm a beginners into yoga I've always been a little scare of it as I'm very very tight and usually hurt doing yoga but the heat in hot yoga has really helped relax my muscles so I can start moving better in yoga.
